Chapter 373: The Work of the Embassy

Valery arranged a pretty good place for me, the closest diplomatic apartment to the Russian Embassy.

The apartment I live in is two storeys higher than Valery's apartment, and the view is wide, and there are no buildings on the opposite side, and looking out the window at the streetscape, I am satisfied that there is no need for curtains here, which is really what I want.

The apartment has two bedrooms and one living room, the area is not small, the kitchen and bathroom are complete, and the furniture and electrical appliances are more fashionable and trendy than Moscow! This was my first feeling after returning home; Today, Beijing is the most modern city in the world.

Every morning I would go to work with Valery in his car and back in the evening. The way to work is actually very close, just turn the Dongzhimen Bridge. If it weren't for the viaduct, I would have thought I would have walked to the embassy in a few minutes.

It wasn't until I actually went to work that I realized what the busiest job is in the world!

Now I understand why Roman didn't dare to invite me to work here in the first place, and Valery suggested my salary.

Valery, as the site commander, almost wanted to live on the site. If it weren't for the embassy's rules that foreign workers were not allowed to stay overnight, I don't think I would even have a chance to leave.

As an assistant, no matter how late I am, I have to wait until Valery finishes my work before my workday ends.

Our construction site is not a 24-hour continuous rotation, but it is also a working time of more than ten hours a day from morning to evening.

Moreover, once the construction starts, there is absolutely no such thing as holidays and rest days on the construction site!

Almost every day, Valery and I went to the construction site early in the morning and didn't get home until midnight.

Shenlong saw Andre, who was out of sight, called.

I told him about my current job...... Although I am in Beijing, I only know about Beijing one kilometer around the Dongzhimen subway station, and I have not made any of the places I wanted to visit!

I said, in the joking words of our workers, that we go abroad every day...... What's even more ridiculous is that I think I've spent my best time in Russia again, and only the evening time is in China. I never dreamed of such a strange job. If it weren't for the generous annual salary......

Andrei asked me if I was determined not to go to the United States? I said, I'm not even familiar with Beijing, and New York is really too far away for me......

Our project is the renovation of two apartment buildings with more than 30 floors in the commercial and trade representative office of the Russian Embassy.

The scale of this project is somewhat beyond my imagination. In principle, the so-called renovation project needs to be rebuilt except for the basic framework of the building. This includes all plumbing, equipment, elevators, interior and exterior walls, all facilities inside, as well as an underground sauna and fitness gym......

These two buildings have been in continuous use for more than 30 years, and almost all of them are dilapidated and aging, and I feel that this place is really long overdue for repair!

Valery told me that plans to renovate the apartment building were proposed 10 years ago, but the federal treasury has not allocated the money. In fact, it is not only the apartment buildings here that need to be renovated, but also many facilities of Russian consulates and embassies abroad, including those in Shanghai.

Now, I finally understand why Roman's construction company got involved in the construction of the embassy. Engaging in these projects earns state financial allocation, and the contractor has almost no risk! This really fits Roman's business philosophy, and he has always had a soft spot for businesses that require privileges!

In addition to Valery, Roman also has a chief engineer in his sixties, Evgeny, a circuit engineer, Vasya, two weak current technicians and seven technicians.

I learned after I took office that Tima had also come to us to work part-time, and he mainly assisted Valery in the management of some chores on the construction site. In fact, I don't think there is a need for this layman like me to manage the construction site.

It seems that Roman has really done his duty to Tony when he came to Beijing this time!
