Chapter 475: Mr. Liu (I)
At work on Monday, I was translating the annex of a trade contract that Mr. Wang gave to me and Mr. Su urgently needed.
- "Oh, Linna! Busy? ”
When I looked up, I saw Mr. Liu smiling and walking towards my workstation.
I stood up and said to him with a smile:
- "Mr. Liu, you have returned to China. ”
Mr. Liu, smiling at my desk. I took out a bottle of caviar and put it on my desk and said:
- "Sit, Lina, this is for you." To be honest, you know what's over there, and I don't know what I can bring back to you. I think you can still get used to this. ”
- "Thank you, Mr. Liu, you are still thinking about bringing me a gift." ”
- "What do you mean with me?" Mr. Liu said with a smile, and then asked:
- "What are you busy with?" ”
- "Ah, this is the contract annex that Mr. Su wants. I put the caviar in the drawer and replied.
- "Can you help me take a look at this first?" Mr. Liu said and handed me a USB drive.
I opened the USB drive, and it was an expansion project of a Russian airport.
I told Mr. Liu that it would take me more than half a day to translate this document, and that I needed to get Mr. Su's attachments out at the moment before I could start translating for him.
Mr. Liu said that I don't need to translate them, I only need to know a few key data about this project, such as: project funding scale, project duration, bidding company, etc.
I said, "That's too easy."
While I was looking up the documents, I marked out the information that Mr. Liu needed in Chinese.
Mr. Liu put away the USB drive with satisfaction and said to me in a low voice:
- "Linna, don't tell anyone about this project!" ”
- "Don't worry! I winked at Mr. Liu.
Watching Mr. Liu walk out of the office door, I secretly opened the drawer and proudly admired the bottle of caviar.
Interestingly, my ability to come to this company seems to have something to do with Mr. Liu.
If it weren't for the fact that he needed a translator who knew architecture, and my resume happened to have a resume as a construction translator, Mr. Wang might not have recruited me into the company.
At the beginning of the term, I thought I was just Mr. Liu's translator, but I didn't have the opportunity to do a verbal translation for Mr. Liu, except for the text translation for Mr. Liu.
In the more than half a year since I came to the company, Mr. Liu, whom I know, has been to Russia three times, but he didn't ask me to go with him.
yes! Russia is already familiar with Mr. Liu, and he can't be more familiar with it.
When he and Mr. Su were working hard in Irkutsk, I was still studying at a university in China. For so many years, it has not been difficult for Mr. Liu to travel between China and Russia.
I think that as long as it is not a very important meeting or communicating with new Russian customers, dealing with their old friends, whether it is Mr. Liu or Mr. Su, even Director Zhu and Deputy Director Cheng can deal with some of their Russian.
Although Mr. Wang told me when I first joined the company that he wanted me to be in charge of Mr. Liu's translation work, the fact is that our group, including Mr. Su and Mr. Wang, does not have our own exclusive translators.
Our translations here are in fact for the whole company. The format is somewhat similar to that of the Translation Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It's just that our translation department here is mainly Russian. Although the CEO of the company has his own preference for using translators, in principle, there is no fixed candidate.
However, I found that Mr. Liu is a bit of an exception in this regard. Although he knows all the translators in the company, I am really the only one who does all the translation work.
Unlike other CEOs in our company, Mr. Liu's words and deeds have always been quite low-key.
Not only is he not as eloquent as other CEOs, but he even deliberately keeps a distance from everyone, the purpose of his coming to the company is not to see Mr. Su or Mr. Wang, and he has almost no intersection with other CEOs.
It's no wonder that Mr. Liu doesn't like to deal with them. The CEOs of our group, including Mr. Su, are really representatives of a group of nouveau riche who are not very high-quality. From speech and demeanor to dealing with people, it all has the typical characteristics of the nouveau riche of that era.
The relationship between the CEOs of the group is called a subtle: there are both mutual praise and slander, there is mutual collusion, there is also mutual demolition, there is mutual use, there is also mutual framing, there are gangs, and there are mutual exclusion...... Every day, it is vividly staged with intrigue and deceit.
The so-called things gather like and people are grouped, I think Mr. Liu may have seen the faces of these people clearly and disdained to be with them!
I think it's really obvious in our company that the impact of academic qualifications on people's quality can be seen.
Mr. Wang and Mr. Liu, who have a bachelor's degree, are much more civilized and intellectual than those who don't even know which way the door of the university opens.
