Chapter 20: Snape's Shock
The door slammed shut behind Professor Snape. Every time he passed by a window, with a wave of his wand, the curtain closed automatically. By the time he reached the podium, the classroom had the same eerie atmosphere as ever.
Professor Snape was still the same, dressed in a dark professor's robe, with greasy half-length hair draped over the sides of his cheeks, thin lips under his hooked nose, and a bottomless pool in his eyes.
He flicked his wand, and something resembling a projection screen appeared out of thin air in front of the classroom.
Presumably, Professor Snape was the first person at Hogwarts to use PowerPoint to teach...... Norin twitched the corners of his mouth, he really didn't vomit unpleasantly.
"Take out your textbooks." Snape said in a deep tone.
There was an immediate thud, and the young wizards were scrambling, as if Snape would deduct their house points for a moment of slowness. In fact, he didn't do it before.
Snape pointed at the projection with his wand, and a series of potions conjured up on the projection.
"You've taken a few Potions classes, and you're no longer laymen who don't know anything about the art." Snape's mouth twitched, "Of course, in my opinion, most of you are no different from laymen. I'll see if you've picked up a little bit of potion in the past few weeks. Each person independently refines a potion, and I don't limit what the potion is, I will check it before class. ”
The little wizards were dumbfounded. He didn't say what it would be like if it wasn't done, but just thinking about it was enough to send chills. Mainly...... They've only learned four Potions lessons!
Listening to the mourning in the classroom, Norlin touched his chin. That's kind of ...... Practical lessons?
"Your dean is as strict as ever." Norlin tilted his head sideways and said to Elena with a smirk.
Elena frowned and said, "He's still very good to the people of our academy. ”
It's not nonsense, he's only good to your academy, and he's eager to deduct all the points from other colleges. Norin subconsciously thought and asked, "What potion are you going to refine?" ”
"I haven't thought about it yet." Elena flipped through the textbooks with some distress, most of the first-year potions textbooks were relatively easy to refine, including scabies healing potions, tranquilizers, herbicides, etc., and she was considering whether to refine the most difficult elixir.
Norin shrugged and got up and walked to the cupboard on the side of the classroom. He had to see what was in it before deciding what potion to make.
Dried nettles, porcupine thorns, aconitum aconitum, daisy root, absinthe, etc., are all kinds of potion materials on display. Norin looked at the various materials and chose to commit a phobia at once.
"Hey, there it is." Norin pondered for a moment, then suddenly his eyes lit up, and he reached out to pick out daffodil root, absinthe, jaw grass root, and sleepy bean.
A name slowly popped into his mind, "Half-Blood Prince".
I don't know what his expression will be when he sees his improved formula being made by a first-year freshman. Norlin thought with some mistaste.
Elena looked at the contents of the Nolin Basin, her big eyes rolled around, and she asked uncertainly, "Are you going to refine this...... Life and death water? ”
"Bingo." Norlin snapped his fingers.
"You're crazy! It's a potion that you only get into the senior year! Elena's eyes widened in disbelief.
"I don't do things that I'm not sure about. We'll see. Norlin said with a smile.
Elena looked at him for a moment, snorted, and walked to the cupboard.
"Hmm...... Let me think about it, add wormwood ......infusion to the end of narcissus root," Nolin tapped his head, recalling the recipe for the water of life and death.
His wand pointed underneath the cauldron, and flames rose upward. The potion in the cauldron bubbled and bubbled.
Norlin glanced at the potion and ignored it, turning to find the silver knife.
Elena didn't know what potion she was refining, and there was a lot of movement in the cauldron, and from time to time a wisp of black smoke steamed up, making her little face dirty.
"Give me the knife you have handy." Norin said with a smiling smile.
Annoyed, Elena threw the knife at Nolin, turned her little face away, turned her back to him and continued tinkering with the contents of her own cauldron.
"Crush ......," Norlin muttered softly, squeezing the sleepy beans with the side of the knife, silver juice oozing out.
Time passed, and Snape continued to write and draw in his seat, without raising his head.
Five minutes before the end of class, Norlin threw a maple leaf into the crucible, and as soon as the fluttering maple leaf touched the liquid, the liquid gradually turned silvery white as if it had been dyed.
"It's done!" Norlin clapped his hands excitedly, raised his eyes and sneaked a glance at Snape, and after seeing that he had no signs of observing, he secretly took out a test tube and filled it with the potion.
Refining the water of life and death is not a whim, he is still very useful, and this elixir is obviously unlikely to let him take it away.
"Time...... Arrive. After a moment, Snape stood up and spat out a few words. He began to walk around the classroom, and the young wizards all had expressions waiting for trial, and some had even closed their eyes in despair.
Norin leaned curiously towards Elena's crucible, but there was too much vapor to see for a moment. Instead, Elena had a confident look on her face.
"What is this? Mr. Cliff, you went down the drain and got a pot of waste water, didn't you? Sure enough, Snape's characteristic sarcastic tone came out again. He stood in front of Kay Cliff, a Ravenclaw boy, pointing to the unknown liquid in his cauldron, and said mercilessly.
Kay Cliff was about to burst into tears.
Fortunately, Snape didn't mention the deduction and went straight to the next one.
"Is this a scabies treatment potion? I'm sure you'll be going to Madam Pomfrey for a few days after drinking it. Even in Slytherin, Snape's tone wasn't necessarily good.
"It's a scabies treatment potion again...... Fair. ”
"Did you go to the sewers with Mr. Cliff?"
"Herbicides...... Pomona doesn't welcome you in her greenhouse. ”
As Snape walked past the cauldrons, all the freshmen turned pale, and the expressions of being struck and doubting their lives made Norlin look a little unbearable. Even Elena was apprehensive, her two little hands constantly entangled with each other.
"Huh, antidote?" Snape paused in front of Elena's cauldron, a hint of surprise in his eyes, "It's okay, an effective antidote." Miss Selwyn, you earned ten points for Slytherin. ”
Elena's expression was visibly gleeful.
"Next...... Mr. Davis, our little genius. Snape walked over to Norlin and said with a slight mockery, poking his head over to Nolin's cauldron, "Huh? ”
The silvery-white liquid clearly reflected Snape's face full of surprise. His voice stopped abruptly, and he looked at it for a long time before he turned his head to stare into Nolin's eyes and asked word by word, "You made it yourself?" ”
"Hmm." Norlin met his scrutinizing gaze and nodded calmly. Anyway, the advanced textbook was still with Snape, and Norlin wasn't worried about revealing it at all.
"It's ...... Good. Snape stared at him for half a minute, and said dryly, "Ravenclaw ten." ”
As he spoke, he put Norin and Elena's potions in test tubes, and sure enough, they couldn't be taken out.
However, as soon as he finished speaking, everyone in the classroom looked at Norin with a look of incredulity. This is the first time Snape has given points to a non-Slytherin house!
Norin muttered with some dissatisfaction, was the potion made with Snape's recipe only worth ten points......
Snape was now beside Nolin, and he stopped talking, but finally said in a voice that only the two of them could hear: "Very good idea." ”
Norin is happy, praising me is tantamount to praising himself? What a tsundere.
After class, Elena walked out of the classroom with Norin, and she asked unconvinced, "How did you do it?" ”
"Secret." Norlin blinked and laughed. He touched the test tube in his pocket, his eyes twinkling, and he didn't know what he was thinking.
