Chapter 34: Confronting Dumbledore
In Snape's life, there were many words on the blacklist, such as "greasy", "bat", "James Potter", etc., and the most untouchable was undoubtedly the word that Nolin had just spat out.
Because of that "mudblood", he and Lily parted ways and turned against each other, and lived in pain and regret all their lives.
Norin understood his thoughts very well, the girl he loved regarded him as an enemy, threw herself into the arms of others, and that person was still a mortal enemy, it was simply unbearable pain in life.
"What a bad word."
Professor Flitwick exclaimed, "In that case, Slytherin deducts twenty points, Ravenclaw deducts thirty points, Severus, is that okay?" β
Snape froze and didn't speak.
"Mr. Carlo almost died! This shouldn't have ended so easily! β
Professor Sinista couldn't help but retort. She didn't mean to target Norin, but she almost died in her class, which really made her feel uneasy.
"Whoever had some respect for Muggles, Caro wouldn't say anything like that. Besides, you're a Muggle professor, Sinista. β
Professor Flitwick stood on the rector's desk and said with his chest puffed.
"This ......"
Professor Sinista paused.
"Mr. Davis, Mr. Caro has said something that is hard to forgive youβ"
Dumbledore said slowly.
"I know I'm not. I'm sure you know that too. β
Norlin said suddenly.
Dumbledore's eyes were focused on Norin's eyes. He smiled, his long snow-white beard fluttering as he got up.
He looked at the three Snape: "You go back and rest first, I'll take care of this matter." β
Snape turned to leave, and Professor Flitwick gave Norlin an encouraging look and followed. Professor Sinista hesitated, but finally said nothing, saluted Dumbledore and left silently.
"Sit down, kid." With a flick of Dumbledore's wand, a chair appeared out of thin air in the room, along with a silver tray with oddly shaped candy on it.
Norlin glanced at Dumbledore's wand without a trace, it was dark and had distinct bumps in its body, which looked like it had been eroded by age.
"Duke Honey's candy, bee candy." Dumbledore said kindly, "Taste, it tastes good." At least I, the old man, like it. β
Not only have I eaten it, but I still have a bunch of them in the dormitory. Norlin said in his heart, and his hand still honestly picked one up and put it in his mouth, and said:
"It's delicious."
"Interesting spells, did you develop them yourself?" Dumbledore sat back down, his eyes narrowing slightly, and he said with interest.
Norlin almost didn't react, only to realize after a moment that he was talking about the spell at the top of the Astronomical Tower. The question is, how did Dumbledore know?
Norin smiled shyly and said, "A little improvement of the Levitation Charm was discovered by accident. β
"Professor Flitwick told me about your talent in magic, but I didn't expect that Charms has also achieved a little success, which is good."
Dumbledore's blue eyes were inexplicably deep, and he continued:
"But you have to know that while you have outstanding strength, you must also have a heart of awe for magic, and more importantly, keep your original intention."
Prosperity, democracy, civilization and harmony, freedom, equality, justice, rule of law, patriotism, dedication, honesty and friendliness......
Seeing Dumbledore's gaze straight at him, Norlin hurriedly meditated in his mind. He didn't dare to guarantee that this old bee who liked to dementor would not use it on him, so he had to make a decision.
"Thank you for your teaching, Professor. I'll keep it in mind. β
After trying to eliminate distractions, Norlin replied respectfully.
"So, what do you mean by what you just said?" Dumbledore shoved a piece of sugar into his mouth and chewed it full.
"I know I'm notβwell, Muggle-born." Nolin rubbed his right hand against the back of the chair, feeling the smoothness of the texture, "I'm sure you know that, too. β
After swallowing the candy in his mouth, Dumbledore smacked his lips comfortably, picked up another one, and said:
"yes, you're Liana's child, of course I do."
Nolin's eyes lit up suddenly, didn't he come to see Dumbledore to ask more about his mother.
However, the next moment, his face stiffened slightly, and he looked depressed.
"I see, but unfortunately I can't tell you."
Dumbledore shook his head, his tone slowing.
"Can you tell me why?"
Norlin clenched his fists and asked unwillingly.
It's the same for everyone...... Everyone said that, everyone treated him like a child, and Nolin only felt a wave of irritability return.
"You're only in the first grade, even if your strength has surpassed that of your peers, knowing it will only be bad for you."
Dumbledore said softly, "Of course, I can assure you that your parents are not in danger of life. β
Norlin didn't speak again. He was silent for a while before he said in a muffled voice:
"I see."
"Then let's talk about the consequences of this." Dumbledore brought the conversation to the very beginning, "Mr. Carlo said something that is hard to forgive you, but I don't think he deserves such a severe punishment. β
Norlin nodded nonchalantly, he didn't care much about this in the first place, and he was sure that Dumbledore, who had always been philanoid and relaxed, would not make any harsh decisions...... Right?
"Slytherin 20 points, Ravenclaw 20 points."
Norin's heart was slightly relieved, but he heard Dumbledore continue:
"As for your words, Mr. Davis. Confinement, going to Professor Snape every Friday night, ending at Professor Snape's discretion. β
Norlin wondered if his previous perception of the greatest white wizard of our time had been skewed.
It's obviously a ruthless old bee.
"Professorβ" Norlin tried to save it.
"In fact, the punishment I gave was light enough. In any case, life is the most respectable thing in the world. I hope that in the days to come, you will understand this. β
Dumbledore interrupted him, speaking unquestioningly.
"Understood."
Norlin didn't insist any longer, he bowed and walked out of the headmaster's office.
Dumbledore sat in his chair without saying a word, until a voice sounded beside him:
"This kid is not simple, I feel that he has a big secret."
The portrait of the former Headmaster Phoenix opened his eyes and said to Dumbledore, "Why didn't he get a Slytherin?" β
"Hopefully he won't be the next Tom." Dumbledore thought back to the message that Krell had given him, "This kid isn't something to be scared by a burning cupboard anymore. β
"Then why don't you take a look?" Phoenix teased.
"He's my student." Dumbledore replied firmly, "I don't want to make the same mistake again." β
The flames in the fireplace were blazing, and the phoenix perched on the shelf suddenly spread its wings and flew up to Dumbledore's shoulders in a circle.
