Chapter 161: Durmstrong
On the deck stood a few people who seemed to be ushering in the students. They were all dressed in thick fur cloaks, their faces were invisible, and they wore fluffy gloves on their hands.
The weather here is indeed much colder than in England, and when Norlin lived in Burgas, he saw everyone wearing thick coats and felt hats made of animal fur. However, after Nolin cast a fire and water spell on his robe, he was no longer troubled by the cold.
As soon as Norin and Jasmine stepped onto the deck, a man walked towards them.
It was only when he got close that Norlin could see his face in the dim light. This is a young man with a feminine face, and his indifferent temperament is very suitable for the Nordic ice and snow. He has some dark brown shoulder-length curls and thick brown eyebrows.
He looked up at Norlin, as if wondering if there was such a person in the school. After a while, he asked:
"You're an exchange student from Hogwarts?"
Norlin frowned, glanced at him obliquely, and said, "Yes." ”
"Come with me."
The young man glanced at Jasmine, who was following Nolin, and after saying a word, turned and left.
There were not many people on deck, and the students all stayed in the cabins.
As soon as he entered the cabin, Norin immediately felt like two worlds from the outside.
Unlike the bitterly cold outside the cabin, the inside is covered in warm animal fur, taken from a species of pig called the Swak pig around Durmstrang. Lights hung one after another on the eaves of the ship, and a warm breath greeted you.
In the cabin, students who have been reunited after a long absence, are discussing what they saw during the holidays. Many of the students looked towards the entrance of the cabin, curious about this stranger, who was obviously from a foreign country.
"Hello everyone, I'm an exchange student from Hogwarts. Hopefully, in the coming days, we can have a good time. ”
Norlin stood at the entrance of the cabin, letting the students' eyes meet, a subtle smile curling into his lips, and spoke.
Durmstrang's students looked at him stunned, and it took a moment for them to realize what he meant, whispering in twos and threes.
The young man looked at Norin meaninglessly, led him to the innermost part of the cabin, and said:
"My name is Cecil Howard, and I'm the prefect of Heimdall Academy."
"Heimdall?"
Norlin asked curiously.
"Heimdall." Cecil Howard nodded affirmatively, led Norin and Jasmine into a room in the cabin, and said,
"We have three houses in Durmstrang named after three Norse gods, just as you named Hogwarts after its founder."
"What about the other two?"
Norin asked with interest.
"Heimdall is the patron saint of the gods, and his vision is long-sighted, representing steadfastness, perseverance, and unwavering protection. The Courtyard Spirit is a golden falcon. ”
Cecil Howard explains, "Geofein knows the past and the future. He represents erudition, liberalism, and intellectual curiosity, and the spirit of the house is a white wolf. ”
"Enheria is the collective name for the warriors who inhabit Valhalla. It represents heroism, unity, optimism, honesty and kindness, and the spirit of the courtyard is a black bear. ”
Jasmine couldn't hear it clearly, and Norlin silently compared the two schools in his mind, and found that there were many similarities.
Enheria and Gryffindor, Geofein and Ravenclaw, Heimdall and Hufflepuff......
As for why there is no house corresponding to Slytherin, Norlin guesses that every student in Durmstrang is a pure-blood wizard, and their bloodline is highly consistent with Slytherin's philosophy. In other words, every house student is a Slytherin.
Norlin said with a smile.
"I'm afraid you're rejoicing too soon."
Unexpectedly, Cecil Howard did not accept his thanks, and said coldly, "There is a strong sense of competition in our school, and everyone can be a competitor. Only the strong can have a higher voice in Durmstrang. ”
The implication is that he has already seen Norlin as a competitor.
There was an inexplicable glint in Nolin's eyes, and he laughed and said:
"Got it. Thank you for your explanation. ”
Cecil Howard took a deep look at him and walked out of the room.
"It's kind of interesting......"
Norin rubbed his chin and muttered to himself.
Jasmine was already lying by the window, staring out at the dark and turbulent sea.
The next morning, the voyage of the magic ship finally came to an end.
The light of the rising sun shone on a pier on the edge of Durmstrang, and the students disembarked from the boat.
The three men, including Cecil Howard, each led a group of students to the castle in the distance.
Unlike Hogwarts, Durmstrang Castle has only four floors, but it's also spectacular. Its architectural style is a little less sleek and more angular than that of Hogwarts.
Around the castle, there is a vast expanse of land. Except for a period of snow melt in the summer, most of the other periods are in a state of whiteness.
Behind the castle, there is a lake that magically sustains itself from freezing, and several mountains that look extremely tall with perennial snow. In addition to Durmstrang's magic ships, which float and sink in the lake, there are also occasional ghostly ships that appear or disappear.
Due to the perennial low temperature, the students here wear thick coats. Although there are spells such as fire and water invulnerability, it is obviously impossible to maintain the consumption of mana all the time, and it is too difficult for them to perpetuate the spell.
Their coats were made from animal skins from the vicinity of the school, and while not as bloated as they would be in the Muggle world, they were definitely not pretty.
By the time school started, summer had largely passed. Otherwise, Norlin can take a look at one of the wonders of Limstrang's summer daylight.
Cecil Howard and the others led all the students into the castle and into an imposing auditorium hall.
The interior of the auditorium is a little eerie, probably because the temperature is too low. Bright flames littered the ancient walls, as well as many strangely shaped magical objects that Norin couldn't name.
The rows of tables and chairs are arranged in a pyramid shape, and the further you go into the auditorium, the fewer tables and chairs there are. When I came to the closest place to the VIP seat, there was only a lone table and chairs.
Norlin squinted and was silent. Jasmine greedily took in all the sights she saw, and at the same time silently compared this place to the school of her dreams.
A few mature wizards stood in the VIP seats, watching the students stream in with blank expressions.
Standing at the front was a tall, thin wizard with short white hair and a goatee with a curly goatee on his emaciated chin.
This must be Durmstrang's headmaster, Igor Karkaroff. Norin silently guessed in his heart.
