Chapter 1: Out of Trouble
Sage Center, Pennsylvania.
It is a hidden psychiatric hospital located in a corner of the city, a subsidiary of a global health agency.
In a cramped house with only a toilet and a sink, a young man curled up in the corner of the house with bare feet and a white long-sleeved shirt.
This is the only blind spot for surveillance, and the only place where he can feel at ease.
Arthur, that's his name.
Rumble!
The flames suddenly scorched the iron door, and Arthur raised his head, his facial features were upright, sharp and angular, and he was a little handsome.
The iron door was melted by the flames, and his heart rippled, and he got up from the ground and stepped out of the house.
Four people confronted each other in the hallway, one of whom he knew, the lamplighter, the lackey of the Walter Group.
"Hey, Arthur, calm down, okay?" The lamplighter holds a fuel lighter and whispers comfort to Arthur.
The other three looked at Arthur with wary eyes in their eyes.
"Remember the books I got you? We're friends. ”
"Who's your friend?" Arthur's face was gloomy, and the anger that had been building up for a long time gradually rose.
"We're not his friends." The black man on the side hurriedly cleared up the relationship and explained to the person who suddenly broke into the battlefield.
Bang bang bang!
Several gunshots rang out behind him, and the bullets slammed into Arthur's back with a dull sound.
His pupils flickered crimson, and Arthur turned his head, his hot gaze splitting the man like a hot knife cutting cheese.
Seeing this, the four of them did not hesitate and ran away.
Ignoring them, Arthur unleashed the "monsters" behind the door and let them draw fire for themselves.
And he himself is leaving this hellish place.
Arthur, formerly known as Zhou Yi, is a native of the Celestial Empire who traveled to this world 24 years ago due to an accident.
The motherland, the lamplighter, the locomotive, the deep sea, these superhero seven, composed of superpowers produced by the injection of compound 5 by the Walter Group, made him understand that this world is the world of the black-robed pickets.
But the discovery didn't make him much excited, more fearful.
Superheroes are no longer saints, ordinary people are like fish on the board, at the mercy of others.
He's just an ordinary person.
A few years ago, in an accident, his parents died in a massive explosion, and he was buried in the rubble, and when he was found, it was already a few days after the explosion.
The people who found him were people from the Walter Group.
He was captured here, became a test subject, and was forced to be injected with Compound 5.
Possessed some superpowers, thermal sight and super defense.
He can't fly, he can't see through, and his defense is not very strong, so he can only defend against small-caliber weapons, and no matter how big it is, it won't work.
For example, a cannon like Barrett.
Straight to the front door of the hospital, Arthur's hands trembled slightly, and he was about to regain his freedom.
Bang dang!
The door was violently pushed open, and the dazzling light squeezed in through the crack in the door, Arthur's pupils shrank suddenly, and the sudden light made him unable to see things clearly, lightning struck his body, and the whole person was lifted off and hit the wall, it was the Storm Girl.
A powerful electric current pulses through his body, paralyzing his nerves, preventing him from gathering his spirit and fighting back with his heat gaze.
Collapsed to the ground, Storm Girl entered the hall, closed the door lightly, and the hospital returned to darkness: "Lamplighter? Lamplighter! ”
"I'm here." A voice came from the side room, and the Storm Maiden stepped forward and asked, "I just killed seven test subjects outside, what happened?" ”
The lamplighter stopped at the door, deliberately blocking the Storm Girl's view: "Dr. Carlton got the wrong dose of anesthetic again, Arthur ran out and released some people. ”
On the ground, Arthur was not unconscious, he turned his head slowly, his pupils were red, the corners of his mouth were smiling, and his hot gaze burned the back of the Storm Girl, easily breaking through her defenses.
The lamplighter was so frightened that he scolded and retreated back into the room.
The Storm Girl's heart was burned and she flipped to the ground on her side, constantly struggling, Arthur got up from the ground without reservation, and the hot sight came out again, melting the brain.
His thermal vision is very strong, and in order to prevent him from messing around, the Walter Group has deliberately added a layer of material to the "cage" that can reflect the thermal vision.
Although this material can't stop the continuous attack, they have a second plan.
Storm Girl and special forces armed with large-caliber weapons.
Now that Storm Girl is dead, the special forces are exhausted with the other test subjects.
Must leave as soon as possible.
Reopen the gates, embrace the sun, walk through the jungle, come to the road, stop a car, and the good Samaritan takes him to the city.
Looking at the familiar and unfamiliar city, Arthur wrapped his leather coat tightly, lowered the brim of his hat, and walked towards the dark side of the city.
These clothes are "gifted" by well-wishers.
In an unknown alleyway, a few thugs stop Arthur and demand that he hand over his money.
Arthur backhanded them out, took out his new phone, wallet, and continued to walk into the depths.
Society doesn't need scum, and it doesn't need sanctimonious superheroes.
"Little brother, are you free?"
The blonde leaned against the wall, her cigarette between her fingers, and threw an olive branch to Arthur as she passed.
"Do you have a place to live?"
The girl threw away the inferior cigarette in her hand, stepped forward to put her arms around Arthur, and laughed, "Yes, everything." ”
"Take me there."
"Okay."
Along the way, the girl hints at Arthur, intentionally or unintentionally, trying to get Arthur to do something to her, but the man is like an elm pimple and has no feelings for her.
She even began to wonder if she wasn't attractive anymore.
Arriving at the room, the girl closed the iron door, and the purple atmosphere lamp filled the place with an ambiguous atmosphere, Arthur stopped her movements, and kicked her out of the room in her puzzled gaze.
Coming back to her senses and looking at the cold iron door in front of her, the girl finally understood that this guy was here to smash the field.
She yelled, and several tall men burst out of another house with guns in their hands and kicked the door open.
Typical fairy jump.
Before he could speak, the man who bore the brunt was cut by the heat gaze.
The girl was frightened stupid, her face was pale, her teeth chattered, cold sweat broke out, and her body was full of flesh and blood.
They actually provoked superpowers. No, he took the initiative to find it.
"Clean up." Arthur stepped out of the house and into the more well-equipped house next to it. The words without any emotion made her body tremble.
Boom!
The iron door closed, and the girl could no longer bear it, and sat paralyzed in the blood, nauseating and vomiting.
Sitting on the couch and watching the news, Arthur puffed his nose at the fact that those guys had counted all the casualties in the psychiatric hospital on his head, and packaged Storm Girl as a heroic hero who fought criminals and sacrificed his life.
It's shameless.
Moreover, the motherland also declared in the live broadcast that they will quickly catch the terrorists, so that the American citizens do not have to panic and live with peace of mind.
You're the real culprit, right?
Knock knock!
"Who is it?" His eyes shifted, Arthur's pupils flushed, and his hot gaze was ready to go, as the woman opened the door and stood in front of it with a plate of food.
"I think you should need this."
Seeing that Arthur didn't reply, she smiled awkwardly, walked into the room by herself, put the dinner plate on the table, and consciously retreated.
"Sick?" Arthur looked at the food on the table, wary.
Not long after killing her companion, she ran over to offer her courtesy, but she was not well-intentioned.
