Chapter Twenty-Five: Sure to Continue?
Following.
Banner wakes up from a cave and stares blankly at everything around him, some broken images flashing through his mind.
It was the Hulk who did those things.
"Awake?" Arthur walked in from outside the cave, dragging the carcass of a black bear in his hand and throwing it at Banner's feet: "That's right, get this, I'm not very good at slaughtering food." β
"Why are you here?"
Banner tightened his pants held up by the Hulk.
"Uh... We are the same, I have seen your news. Arthur sat on the big boulder, his face unchanged: "You are mutated, right, I am also mutated." β
After thinking about it, he added, "I was exposed to nuclear radiation, and I became like this." β
Banner looked Arthur up and down, remembering all the extraordinaryness in him, and shook his head: "Nuclear radiation won't make you like that." β
As a radiation expert, he knows all the changes in the human body exposed to nuclear radiation.
"And what about you, how did you become like this?" Arthur changed the subject, sarcastically.
Banner opened his mouth, dumbfounded.
Gamma rays irradiate the human body, and it will not become a Hulk...
"Peel off the skin first, and hollow out the internal organs." Banner twisted the corner of the black bear's fur and changed the subject very naturally.
He frowned and said, "I don't have the tools to handle this." β
Arthur smiled and stepped forward and said, "You say, I'll do it..."
β¦β¦
At the edge of the forest, in the town's only shop with a computer, Banner sits in front of the computer, plugs in the USB flash drive that he vomited out before breakfast, and makes an encrypted call to "Mr. Blue".
Arthur leaned against the doorframe, watching Banner's every move.
Mr. Lan...
It should be the one who can make the "Hulk".
Ending the call, Banner got up and pulled back the USB stick, and Arthur withdrew his gaze and looked straight ahead.
"Alright, let's go. Back to the hotel. β
β¦β¦
"Arthur, this thing I'm about to say is very important." Banner looks extremely serious, and he decides to confess to Arthur and convince him to do the same as he does to treat his "disease".
"Huh? What do you want to say? β
Arthur asked knowingly, he knew what Banner was trying to say.
"I'm looking for a technique to treat gamma rays." "Gamma rays are the main reason for my mutation," Banner said. β
"You can too, we can get rid of them together. As long as it is in conjunction with study treatment. β
Arthur cooperated to reveal a "surprise": "Really? Can I really be cured? I've had enough of this wandering life for a long time. β
"Yes." Banner said in a solemn tone: "It must be possible." β
"I know a... Someone who can treat the radiation in my body. β
"Your radiation problem can definitely be removed."
Arthur said eagerly, "So where is he?" β
Banner signaled Arthur not to be in a hurry, and his tone was calm: "I was about to go to him, are you going?" β
"Of course!" Arthur laughed even deeper.
That's what he meant.
Then, the two bought an old truck and set out on a trip to New York.
"How did it feel when you became that green guy." Arthur was curious.
Be prepared.
Banner withdrew his gaze from the window: "Dizziness, brain swelling, like the brain is stuffed into a giant ball, have you ever felt a flashbang?" β
"Yes, I felt it, that feelingβ" Arthur shook his head and snorted, not wanting to mention it again.
"A thousand times more powerful than a flashbang."
"Isn't it..."
"Have you ever thought about controlling him?"
"I've been trying to control him, to control him not to show up, but it's hard." Banner spoke in a flat tone, as if he wasn't talking about himself.
"I feel..."Arthur paused, "You may be able to communicate with him, when I met him before, he seemed to have an IQ, but not high, like a... A baby. β
Glance into the inward rearview mirror and observe Banner's facial expression.
Nothing has changed.
"I don't want to communicate with him, I don't want to control him, I just want him to leave." Banner turned to look at Arthur.
Arthur nodded lightly and asked no more.
β¦β¦
"Hey, hey, Arthur, we've got to go, there's something wrong."
Banner looked ahead and shook Arthur awake.
Arthur woke up from his dream, his eyes were red, and Banner was startled: "Someone is checking ahead, we are going to abandon the car and leave." β
Retracting his hot gaze, Arthur looked ahead, and it was.
"Walk slowly to the back." Banner said.
The two opened the door at the same time, stepped out of the truck, left the asphalt road, and walked to the port.
Rented a small boat and entered the city of New York.
Looking at the location on the map, Banner said, "It's the fastest way to do the subway, but I'm proposing to take a taxi." β
"No problem." Arthur agreed.
As long as he can get to "Mr. Blue", it doesn't matter what means of transportation he uses.
Greyburn College.
A man in a light blue T-shirt and a dark blue jacket trotted out of the college gate.
Banner immediately stepped forward: "Wait a minute, are you Mr. Blue?" β
The man was obviously stunned for a moment, and looked Banner up and down: "Mr. Green? β
Samuel Stern
Ph.D., Department of Cell Biology.
Stern led the two back to the academy and into the office.
"I've been wondering if you really exist." Stern walked around the office, incoherently, "What would you look like if you existed?" β
"I was shocked that a person with such great power should look so low-key."
"It's not as simple as a picnic in the park..."
"Mr. Stern, calm down." Banner never forgot Arthur, and he introduced to Stern: "This is Arthur, he is a person who, like me, has been exposed to radiation and has a deformed body. β
"It's not gamma rays, it's nuclear radiation." Banner added carefully: "He..."
Stearns was stunned again, looking at Arthur, his mind was down on the spot, and he didn't listen to the rest of the words at all: "Shet..."
He stepped forward, his eyes as if he had seen food: "It's hard to imagine what your abilities are." β
It seemed to be too abrupt, and explained, "Can you briefly demonstrate it?" I... I'm too curious. β
Staring at it for a long time, Arthur nodded, his hot gaze shot out, and cut open the desk.
"Perfect...", after holding for a long time, Stern only glanced at the word.
He really couldn't find any adjectives to describe Arthur's mutations.
The two people standing in front of him, the biological cells in their bodies, it is not an exaggeration to say that it is the future of the entire human civilization.
"Mr. Banner, you have given me a very, very big surprise."
"Thanks, when are we going to start treatment?" Banner looked serious and his expression was solemn, and it was about his future.
Speaking of treatment, Stern regained his composure: "Before that, I must remind you that even if everything goes smoothly, even if the guidance is successful, even if the dose is calculated accurately. β
"We're still not sure, you're going to be healed? Or can only get temporary stability. I do not know. Stearns hesitated for a moment and asked tentatively, "Do you want to continue?" β
Banner pondered for a long time, then turned his head to look at Arthur, who was wandering in the sky: "Yes." β
From the time he spent with Arthur, Banner discovered that the trauma that this big boy had suffered was far more severe than he had imagined.
It's even possible to be better than him...
He wants to set an example, to give him peace of mind, if he dies...
It's better to die, at least get rid of that guy.
