Chapter 5: The First Ally

"Captain, we've spotted a strange ship arriving in our galaxy."

In the stronghold monastery of the Bonebreaker Warband in the Abel system, an Astarte warrior reports his findings to Warlord Spencer.

"Send two battle barges to escort it to our port area." Spencer gave the order with a frown.

Not long ago, his brother, Laurent, the leader of the Fire Barrier Warband, said that he had important news to tell him, and that this news could not even be passed on through the Star Whisperers, and that he had to tell him in person.

Laurent's suggestion that he would come on a strange ship that was not quite the same as the Imperial cruiser made Spencer a little suspicious, but Spencer did not directly refuse for the sake of old days.

Laurent's secretiveness makes it hard for Spencer not to guess why.

Spencer guessed for a long time, and when he saw that the three ships in the starry sky were already approaching the port area, he shook his head and was not ready to think about this question anymore.

I thought to myself, everything will be clear when I see Laurent, and I might as well ask him directly after thinking about it here for a long time.

Thinking of this, Spencer stood up and walked towards the port area, ready to go to meet his old friend.

After Spencer arrived at the port area, all three ships also landed together.

With a snort, the hatch opened, and the first to come out was not the warband leader Laurent, but a man Spencer had never seen before, and Laurent followed behind him, as if guarding him.

Seeing the other party walking towards him, Spencer also stepped forward.

"Hello Spencer, I'm the Emperor's son, Sivier Disses."

Hearing this, Spencer was shocked, and the arm that was stretched out to shake hands froze in place, and he looked up at Siwell with an incredulous expression. Then he turned to look at Laurent, hoping for an explanation.

Laurent stepped forward and reached out with her right hand to take Spencer's palm, which was still hanging in the air, and pulled Spencer into her arms, patting him on the back with her left hand to express the joy of reunion.

"It's a pleasure to see you again, brother. How about finding a spacious room and let's have a good chat? Laurent said.

Spencer nodded, gave Sivir a deep look again, and then turned to lead the way.

"Follow me."

......

In the command room, Spencer listened to Laurent and Siwell's explanations, and his heart could not be calm for a long time.

This decapitation-like surprise attack on Terra was very much to Spencer's appetite, if not for anything else, but simply because it did the least damage to the Empire, cutting off the dead muscles of the Empire with the precision of a scalpel, without harming the rest of the body.

In this way, the exchange of power will basically not hurt the subjects of the empire, and if all goes well, not even a single battle will break out.

Spencer was as kind and compassionate as the genetic protogen, Vulcan Vokan, so he was very sympathetic to this plan, but he did not have much affection for the High Lords, and would not feel pity or sympathy for them.

So it stands to reason that Spencer should have agreed, but Spencer walked around the command room, hesitating, and his indecisive personality kept him from making up his mind.

Looking at Spencer, who was still spinning in circles, Laurent couldn't stand it.

"Spencer, what are you thinking about?" Laurent asked, looking a little impatient.

"Well..., please go to dinner with Lord Sivir first, and then go to the church, where I will give you an answer."

Spencer thought for a long time and gave such an ambiguous attitude, Siwell and Laurent glanced at each other and shook their heads, not expecting that even the first teammate would develop so hard.

When Sivir and Laurent arrived at the church after their meal, they found that it was already filled with the warriors of the Bonebreaker Hammer Warband.

Laurent squinted and glanced around, but he didn't notice anyone with a weapon in his hand, and then he was reassured. But they still leaned closer to Lord Sivir to prevent Spencer from calling them here to catch turtles in the urn, and Laurent was ready to protect Siwell's breakthrough. But if it starts, it's really hard to say who will lead whom to break through.

Spencer stood at the front of the church, behind him was the Emperor in golden power armor, holding a glass painting of the Emperor's sword, and in front of him was a huge dreadnought mech.

He waved for Laurent and Sivir to sit in the front row, and when everyone was seated, he nodded again for the technical sergeant standing next to him to start waking up the dreadnought.

The Dreadnought Mech is a powerful war machine, and the death of each veteran represents the loss of much hard-won knowledge and wisdom, and it is a machine designed to ensure that the greatest warriors and heroes can survive their mortal injuries. Those elite warriors have been given this privilege – to be able to continue to serve the Emperor as fearless mechs.

Some Astartes, whose injuries are not fatal, but are so severe that they are incapacitated, will also choose to enter the dreadnought mech to continue to play their role for the emperor. Astarte warriors who choose to enter the dreadnought will have their limbs amputated, leaving only their head and some vital organs, curled up inside the mech like a fetus, and then connect their nervous system to the dreadnought, allowing them to maneuver the heavy mech nimbly.

Some of the Dauntless lived for a long time, dating back to the days of the Great Expedition, and were highly respected by the other Space Marines in the warband, not only because they were veterans and battle-hardened warriors, but also because they were the ancestors of the warband, witnesses to battles long ago. The dreadnought mechs that survived the battle were meticulously maintained and repaired.

If a dreadnought is destroyed in battle, his comrades will fight to retrieve his remains in order to bury the glorious warrior in the grand mausoleum of the warband, for the final rest he deserves. The body parts of the dreadnought will be recovered and repaired, waiting for the next user to arrive.

Although most warbands have a few dreadnoughts, sometimes Space Marines would rather die than be stuffed into a dreadnought, because when they connect their nervous system to dreadnought, they completely lose their physical senses, and only a cold, empty, and endless end awaits them.

As a result, the Dreadnought spends most of its time dormant, only awakening by the Techno when they seek the help of the wisdom of these ancient warriors, or when they need him to return to the battlefield.

Spencer, on the other hand, believes that the Dreadnought is needed to advise him on the matter of the Emperor's Son.

With the continuous operation of the technical sergeant, the ancient warrior reawakened.

"Emperor!"

A synthetic, hoarse voice came from the speakers of the dreadnought, and although the sound crackled, everyone could hear his surprise.

Apparently, the fearless warrior who had just woken up mistook Sivir, who was sitting in the front row of the church, for the emperor.

"No, you're mistaken, the Emperor is still sitting in the Terra Palace." Spencer explained in time.

"Well, I admit that I was wrong, although they are very similar, but they are still slightly different in appearance, but this person has a unique charm, and the emperor feels the same as the emperor gave me, can you introduce me to it? Spencer. ”

"He is Sivir, the Emperor's son, and in fact, I have awakened you this time to listen to your suggestion that the Emperor's son replace the High Lord's Council. Fire Barrier Warband Project ......"

After listening to Spencer's explanation, the dreadnought warrior said with hatred that iron is not made of steel.

"Spencer, Spencer, indecision is your biggest flaw, and if you want to seize the moment, you have to watch carefully and act decisively. When the time comes, the Astarte warrior must make up his mind immediately in order to be invincible. ”

Hearing what the dreadnought warrior had to say about him, Spencer was a little ashamed.

"I was loyal to the Emperor during the Great Expedition, when the various forces of the Empire were able to gradually move together under the leadership of the Emperor and launch a powerful Great Expedition, but now that the Emperor no longer leads the Empire, the power of mankind cannot be brought together. The current empire is in dire need of a wise commander to reunite all the forces of humanity and point out where the empire is headed next. ”

When Spencer heard this, he finally made up his mind and decided to help the emperor's son seize power.

"Do it, Spencer, there is no more suitable person than the Emperor's son to inherit the Emperor's unfinished business, the Emperor's son is born to rule the Empire, compared to which the High Lords are just a bunch of incompetent waste."

Spencer nodded, reached out and pulled Sivir from the pews to the middle of the church, announcing to the entire Bonebreaker Hammer warband:

"Sivier Disses! The heir of this emperor, he is the natural ruler of the human empire! The high lords are corrupt and incompetent, and we will take back from them those rights that rightfully belong to the emperor's sons! ”
