1005 Master Takami

Bringing religious sites such as temples in the territory under the control of the government, and adding new temples also requires government approval, is only the first step in Li Tai's plan to control Shamen.

This is relatively easy to achieve, after all, a temple is such a large and conspicuous building, and it is not easy to collect it casually. As for the temples that were actually built in some remote and inaccessible area, they were not intended to expand the scale of the congregation and accumulate money, and there was no need to impose control.

The place is controlled, and the next step is naturally to inspect and restrict the practitioners. Monks and disciples need to be ordained, otherwise they will not be shaved. All those who have no degree of monk status will be classified as evil demons and demons, and all temples will not be allowed to contain them, otherwise they will be severely punished once they are verified!

It is one of the most important institutional means for the management of monks and nuns and other religious figures in ancient society, which can not only effectively control the number of monks and nuns, but also a means of generating income. By controlling the number of Buddhist temples issued, the government can effectively control the scale of development of Buddhist temples in the territory.

After all the places and people are under effective control, the next step is the control of various Buddhist activities.

The current Buddhist activities mainly include translating scriptures, copying scriptures, Buddha rituals, digging cave statues, etc., these Buddhist activities will basically cause a certain degree of waste of social resources and productivity, and especially the most serious cave statues.

If the manpower and material resources consumed to create a Buddha cave, including the statues inside, are used for normal social production, the value generated is far greater than that of worshipping the Buddha. Especially in the turbulent times of the Northern and Southern Dynasties, the level of productivity was already very limited, and a large amount of social resources and labor were invested in Buddha worship activities, which was a great loss of national strength.

Therefore, Li Tai also hopes that these Buddha worship activities can be gradually incorporated into the government's control, and all Buddha worship activities exceeding a certain scale must be reported to the government, and can only be carried out with the approval of the government. Otherwise, all those who participate in the Buddha worship activities, whether they are monks and nuns or ordinary believers, will be severely punished for the crime of Buddhahood!

Of course, such a standardized management involving all aspects, Li Tai himself felt a bit harsh, and it was obviously impossible for the current Shamen monks to fully accept it in a short period of time.

After all, even Xiao Bodhisattva of the Southern Dynasty advocated Shamen vegetarianism for so many years, but this precept was not fully implemented in the Southern Dynasty alone, and monks in places such as Xiangyang and Jiangling were still happily drinking and eating fish. The Buddhas of this period, the mainstream is that they can't suffer at all, and they don't want to be disciplined at all.

So the next step is to follow the step-by-step process, little by little, to put the reins on this undisciplined wild horse.

Li Tai did not tell the two old monks all his plans, but only gave them a little bit of advice and instructed them on their next steps.

But even though it was only a preliminary instruction, the two old monks couldn't help but sigh with emotion after listening to it. Especially the Tan Jing mage who had suffered a similar loss, after hearing that Tang Gong's intentions were slightly revealed, he couldn't help but sigh in his heart that after all these years, Tang Gong's various methods have really become more and more proficient!

At that time, Master Tan Jing was also a figure who could call the wind and rain in Qinzhou, Longyou, not only the host of the famous temple in Longyou, but also served as the monk of a county, Du Weina, and the Shamen monks of the entire Tianshui County were almost under his control.

But with the arrival of Tang Gong in Tianshui, his good days came to an end, and somehow he planted a big heel, not only the huge temple that he had worked so hard to run was taken by Tang Gong, but even he was difficult to gain a foothold in Longyou, so he had to follow Tang Gong's arrangement to go to northern Shaanxi.

But at that time, he planted his own heels, and Tang Gong also laid the bait. But now these so-called virtuous monks who are squeezed out of Taiwan and can't get off the stage are all spending their own money, making a nest with real money, and then stuffing the hook into their mouths!

After some face-to-face teaching, Li Tai asked the two old monks to be sent back to the annex where they now lived, and asked them to do the ideological work of those great monks. After all, they are all their own people in Shamen, and there will be more common topics when communicating.

After the two monks returned to the annex, they went separately to visit the few virtuous monks who were closing their doors and meditating. It is said to be hard thinking and meditating, but in fact, it is depressed and autistic, escaping from reality.

This debate began after the Buddha's birthday on April 8, and now it is the height of summer in June, and for more than two months, every debate has to rack his brains to apply what he has learned all his life. After the summer, Chang'an City is extremely damp, and the huge mental consumption and the damp and stuffy living environment make every extra moment of stay for these monks is a kind of torture.

However, the current situation forces them not to easily bow their heads and admit defeat. At present, as long as they can stalemate, they are still respected and virtuous monks, but once they show cowardice and admit defeat, they will instantly become the scum of Shamen who deceive the world and steal their reputation, not only will they be spurned by their peers and despised by their believers, but they may even suffer a huge threat to their personal safety!

It must be known that the honorific titles of these great monks are not obtained out of thin air, and each title means a huge material donation. Those who are proficient in the teachings of the Dharma and sutras are usually not the abbots and monks who preside over the day-to-day affairs of the temples, so their titles are either given to them by the treasures of the temples they live in, or they are jointly funded by several temples and local donors.

These people who provide them with funds are not only for the sake of promoting Buddhism, but also have a very urgent and realistic need to return to their original profits. Once these eminent monks admit defeat, they will immediately lose their transcendent religious status, and those who have invested in nothing will inevitably take them as the object of anger.

There is no need for the debate to end, and at that moment, some people who have already turned red are already doing their best to coerce those great monks to find a way to get a turnaround. Some monks were even coerced and tortured to the point of sleepless nights, and if they were not still living in the annex provided by the government, their personal safety might not be guaranteed.

After visiting a group of virtuous monks and understanding their current state, Monk Hongyi and Venerable Tan Jing were also full of emotion, not to mention how they felt when they folded in the hands of Tang Gong, but now they are only happy and grateful. Especially when I saw the embarrassment of those senior monks who were frowning and in a dilemma, I felt more and more that they were now facing the mountains calmly.

After understanding the state of the monks, the monk Hongyi then came forward to gather everyone to prepare for ventilation and discuss a countermeasure.

Everyone was also distressed at this time, and when they heard this call, they all gathered together. In addition to the great virtuous monks, there are also the funders and real talkers behind them, all of which add up to thirty or forty people.

"At this point, you must all be troubled. If we continue to delay, I am afraid that it will be even worse!"

When everyone gathered, the monk Hongyi took the lead in speaking, and he didn't open his mouth tightly, and even the monk next to him pointed at him angrily and said angrily: "The situation is so far, isn't it because you miscellaneous demon monks are flattering and offering favors? If it weren't for you and other demon monks donating materials to advance, and other families would have been chosen by virtue of their exquisite Buddha's righteousness, they would have been able to take the victory or defeat calmly, and they wouldn't be so tormented and uncomfortable now!"

This is the advantage of finding a few white gloves and not ending up in person, even the monks secretly feel that they are afraid that they will be played by the court this time, but they dare not directly and openly accuse the court, but will point the finger at the rafters who are out of their heads: If you don't roll up first, everyone will be able to do this together?

Monk Hongyi is also a ruthless character who spreads the Dharma in the Jihu pile, although he is now a handful of years, but not just anyone can handle it, after hearing this, he glared at him and said, "What exquisite Buddha righteousness can you show off? A group of dog slaves who are dumb in front of people and bark wildly on their backs, the old monk is calling you to discuss life-saving plans, who doesn't want to live and get out immediately! If you refuse to survive and disturb others to save yourself, you will kill here first!"

Hearing the old monk shouting and shouting and killing at every turn, everyone was not immune to his shock for a while, and the scene was silent for a moment, and another old monk with a tired expression said in a tired tone: "Master Hongyi, please calm your anger for the time being, dare to ask if there is any good plan to teach the people here?"

"The original intention of this debate and proclamation of the law was to kill the path in one fell swoop, so that my Shamen would dominate the world, but unexpectedly, Nanban Island was razed into the customs and messed up our schemes, which is really hateful! But if Shamen is imprisoned and suppressed because of this, and the legal system for hundreds of years will wither, we will be sinners in life, and I am afraid that after death, we will also fall into hell forever, and the karma of sin will not be eliminated!"

As soon as Monk Hongyi said this, all the people present turned pale

Change, when even someone trembles and says, "Is it day and night that Shamen is made known to the world? There are many good men and women in Guanlong, and Tang Gong is afraid that he will not dare to ......."

"Are you more vicious than the army of thieves? The lord of Qi worships the Buddha and protects the Dharma, and it is inevitable that Tang Gong will slaughter his army and kill his majesty, what is the plan? Tang Gong has already said that he wants to distinguish between the two religions and survive, and now that the facts are there, do you dare to force Tang Gong to go back on his word?"

As Monk Hongyi glared and asked, the monks present all kept silent, and seeing that everyone was silent, Monk Hongyi spoke again: "Instead of sinking together, it is better to take the initiative to correct our mistakes, cut the dirt of the sand gate, and survive with a broken arm than sit back and wait for death!"

Nowadays, there are many evil monks who divide ditches into temples and set up fences for temples, superstitious about the masses, and fool the world, and most of the people in the world are ignorant, and only regard this kind of evil demons and the true transmission of Buddhism as one. If you mix it up with such worms, how can you magnify the Dharma?"

"Mage Takami, Takami! It is precisely because there are so many people in the world who deceive the world and steal their fame that the Dharma is mixed and the true righteousness is difficult to understand."

There was no need for more guidance from Master Hongyi, and as soon as he put forward this idea, it immediately aroused the almost unanimous agreement of the crowd present.

It is always difficult for people to admit their mistakes and shortcomings, but it is almost an innate instinct to pass the buck and avoid responsibility. It cannot be said that these monks are all despicable by nature, and these mainstream orthodox monks themselves dislike and reject those monks and nuns who are not as good as the mainstream, and now there is a hat here that is suitable for fastening the heads of that group, and of course they are happy to button it.

It's just that they don't know that the size of this hat and the scope of the button are not necessarily what they can say.
