Chapter 205: Hermione's Plan
Life at Hogwarts is getting tougher, and both the students and the professors are struggling.
With Dumbledore basically not showing up, it can be said that Umbridge has completely taken control of the school, and no one has to contradict her or stop her, and this oppressive atmosphere has made many young wizards breathless.
"You can't come here anymore." After a sneak trip to Hagrid's cabin, Hagrid said,
"If she catches us, we're all doomed." It's a fact that several people are the focus of Umbridge's attention, and whoever is caught will not have good fruit to eat.
Under such circumstances, the meeting turned out to be a rare respite for Harry. The gold coins Hermione had made their gatherings more hidden, and even though Umbridge knew there was a secret society, she never found it.
And the escape of Xu is a Death Eater gave everyone a great sense of urgency, and everyone practiced harder.
Neville, in particular, was shocked by the news of Bella's escape from prison, and like Stewart, he barely said a word, just buried his head in all kinds of spells, and didn't even think about his own safety at all.
According to Harry's practice plan, each spell has to go through three steps: watching the demonstration, practicing the target, and practicing with a real person, and everyone will pay attention to their own safety and the opponent's safety in the live sparring session to avoid injury.
But now Neville doesn't care at all, especially after learning the Iron Armor Charm.
"If it doesn't work like this, Neville will get hurt sooner or later." After a party, Hermione said with a worried face,
"He's definitely on his mind right now."
"I would do the same." Ron said,
"If I had known where the snake that hurt my father was, I'd have killed it anyway."
"That's not right!" Hermione still retains her sanity,
"Those guys can't be solved by us alone, impulsiveness can only kill people in vain......" Harry listened quietly to the argument between Hermione and Ron, not speaking, not knowing how to speak.
He felt that what they had said made sense, but now he didn't want to solve Neville's problem, and his own problem was serious.
Occlumency's learning progress was very poor, and Snape could easily break through his defenses and see what he remembered the deepest, most unbearable.
It's even worse than before, Snape saw it in the last lesson
The image of "he" attacking Mr. Weasley made him very angry.
"You're the stupidest student I've ever taught, and if you can't stop me from getting into your dragon dung-ridden brain, someone will die from it one day!" Harry knew the gravity of the matter, of course, but there were some things that could not be solved with effort.
He wanted to learn Occlumency, but he made little progress and even got worse. Now his scar is almost always painful, and he often feels bouts of emotions that have nothing to do with his current behavior.
Every night, he could dream that he was walking down the hallway to the Department of Mysteries, full of longing for what was inside.
"There is no doubt that Snape's teaching has aggravated it." Harry said,
"The scar hurts so much, I hate dreaming about that hallway all the time!"
"You've got to work hard, Dumbledore doesn't want you to keep dreaming about that hallway, or he wouldn't have let Snape teach you Occlumency." Hermione snapped out.
"Of course I know, but I can't help it, it's not fun to get Snape in his head!"
"Maybe ......," Ron began,
"It's not Harry's fault that he can't turn off his brain."
"What do you mean?" Harry asked.
"Snape probably didn't really want to help Harry, you know, he's a Death Eater, maybe he wanted to punch Harry's head a little more and make the gods ......"
"Enough!" Hermione interrupted Ron rudely,
"You've suspected Snape many times, but not a single one of them was right! Moreover, Dumbledore believed in him, and he was a member of the Order of the Phoenix, which was enough to say! Harry watched as the two of them began to argue again, and he was already a little numb to this.
This kind of thing has become a bit commonplace this year, and they will always quarrel for various reasons.
Harry knew exactly what the reason was, but he couldn't do anything about it, which made his mood worse.
Thankfully, it wasn't long before I was able to relax, because it was Hogsmeade's opening time again. In the morning, Harry and Ron arrived at the auditorium early, they had already planned to go to Jokowi's joke shop first, then Duke Honey, and then have a beautiful glass of butterbeer on three brooms.
They desperately want to let their tense nerves loosen.
"Can you get three broomsticks at noon, Harry?" The two were chatting when they saw Hermione running over in a hurry, still holding a letter in her hand.
"No problem, that's what we originally planned." Harry nodded and agreed.
"Great!" Hermione was very happy, and ran away again,
"See you with those three brooms!" After the two of them finished breakfast, they followed the large army to Hogsmeade. Everyone had smiles on their faces along the way, which was so rare that Harry couldn't even remember the last time he had seen so many smiling faces.
By the time Hogsmeade arrived, Harry and Ron had let go of the joke shop for a morning at Duke Honey and Jokowi's joke shop.
Thankfully, Harry remembered going to see Hermione at the Three Broomsticks at noon, but Ron had forgotten.
"Harry, this way!" When they walked into the bar, Hermione saw it as soon as she saw it, waving at them inside.
The two struggled through the crowd, and when they got closer, they realized that Hermione was not alone, Luna and Rita Starkey were there.
It's been a long time since Harry hasn't seen this pesky reporter since the Triwizard Tournament, but she doesn't seem to be in great shape, her previously well-permed hair has straightened, her nails have lost their bright colors, and even her earrings have been replaced by cheap mass goods.
It was then that Harry realized that he hadn't seen Rita's article in the Daily Prophet for a long time.
"I've got a solution!" Hermione looked happy,
"The situation now is that no one believes you and Dumbledore, they have taken control of public opinion, and the Daily Prophet is all the things they want the people to know."
"It's normal, the Daily Prophet sells sales, they want to make money, and now only the Ministry of Magic can meet that need." Rita was expressionless, pushed her glasses and said,
"People love to see the former savior and great white wizard have a bad reputation, not to mention that such articles are so well written that they don't even need my help." As he spoke, he looked at Harry and asked, "How do you feel about this?" Is it the anger of being betrayed, or the resentment of being misunderstood? ”
"Anger! Of course! Hermione said,
"He told the minister the facts, but no one believed him!"
"So, do you really think that the guy who can't even mention his name is back?" Rita asked,
"Believe Dumbledore's?"
"That's right, because that's the truth, I saw it with my own eyes!" Harry yelled,
"I was on the spot, and he was resurrected, and his servants were called, and there were more than a dozen!"
"Do you want to know their names?"
"Of course, this is big news." Rita took out a quill she had and wrote quickly in her notebook,
A striking title: The Potter Accusation, and the subtitle could be: Harry Potter points out the Death Eaters Among Us. Put a big picture of you on the front page, accusing the famous people in the wizarding world as Death Eaters......"
"Tsk tsk, very good subject matter!" Rita's face was full of intoxication, but then she glared at Hermione, who was smiling happily next to her,
"But you don't want this article to be published, do you?"
"No, no, no, in fact I was hoping for it to be in the news!" Hermione smiled sweetly, charmingly. Rita was suddenly stunned, her face full of disbelief.
"Really? Are you sure? Do you really want me to report on the man who can't be named? ”
"That's right!" Hermione said,
"Like I said, the Ministry of Magic controls the direction of public opinion, and no one believes what we say is the biggest problem!"
"And, there is no doubt that there are holes in what they themselves say now. Look at that Azkaban article, Ai ...... Can that guy really get a Death Eater to go with him? Can you really get those guys together? Hermione patted the table and said,
"This is inherently flawed, and what we need to do is to let everyone see the places in their words that don't stand up to scrutiny!"
"Pap, papa, pap," Rita applauded, but her face was full of disapproval.
"Very good idea, but I have to tell you, the Daily Prophet is not going to let this stuff get into the press."
"Like I said, the most important thing for them is to sell the paper, and the public doesn't like that kind of content these days."
"No, no, no, it's the Ministry of Magic that thinks people don't like it, but in fact no one knows what people like." Hermione said, shaking her head.
"Do you think people would love to see this news that scares them?" Rita's face was full of contempt.
"Of course!" Hermione said categorically,
"Like I said, their claims are flawed and don't stand up to scrutiny, and I think there must be people who want to see new interpretations."
"However, the Daily Prophet will not publish it."
"I didn't want it to be in the Daily Prophet."
"And where do you want it to be listed?" Rita asked,
"Those tabloids that don't go through the streets? Trust me, no one cares about those things up there. ”
"We can be on 'Singing the Opposite.'" Hermione said,
"It's also selling very well, and there are a lot of people subscribing. And ......" As she spoke, Hermione glanced at Luna, who had been sitting quietly next to her, and Luna immediately nodded, "Well, my dad is the editor-in-chief of "Singing Against the Tune", and it is very easy to publish this article. ”
""Singing the Opposite"? Ha! Rita's face was full of mockery, as if it were written all over it
"You're kidding me". Staring straight at the determined Hermione for a long moment, Rita suddenly asked, "Well, assuming I agree to write, how much can you pay me?" ”
"I don't think my dad would pay someone to write an article." Luna hugged the cup as if she was in a fugue,
"And it seems that "Singing Against the Tune" has never paid anyone, they write it because they want to write it and let their name appear in the newspaper."
"What?" Rita's face was full of disbelief, she looked at Hermione and asked,
"Let me write for nothing?"
"That's right." Hermione took a sip of butterbeer and nodded very calmly,
"You know in your heart that if you don't, I'll report you as an unregistered Animagus. Perhaps, the Daily Prophet will pay you a lot of money to write about your life in Azkaban...... "Hermione was calm, she believed that Rita would be obedient because she had no other choice.
And that's true, even if Rita wanted to scratch Hermione's face with her nails, she could only agree.
"It seems that I can only say yes." As she spoke, she picked up her notebook and shorthand quill pen.
"Very well, so Harry, are you ready to tell the truth?" Hermione asked, looking at Harry.
"Of course."
"So, let's start asking, Rita." Hermione said calmly, winking at Rita. Although this scene made Rita angry, she had no room to resist when she was pinched.
After taking a few deep breaths in a row, and forcibly suppressing the urge to flip the table, a sweet smile appeared on Rita's face again, and the interview began step by step.
The interview went on quickly, and even Rita had to admit that it was the easiest interview of her career.
There was no need for her to ask questions, Harry himself told everything, all kinds of details, what happened, just need to be very simple to sort out, and it can be written.
But other than that, it was also the worst interview of her career, and she couldn't wait to leave as soon as it was over, and after taking it for a while, she was afraid that she would really be unable to resist scratching the face of the hateful little witch next to the flower.
"That's ...... Does it really work? Ron, who had been sitting next to him as a transparent man, asked out loud after Rita left.
"There should be some effect, but we can't put our hopes on that." Hermione was very calm,
"Our goal is just to let more people know the truth of the matter, whether they believe it or not, there will always be an impression."
"There are a lot of fools and smart people in this world, all we have to do is give people a choice......
"Believe me, when people question the Ministry's claims even the slightest, we've achieved our goal."
"Well, hopefully it will work." Harry nodded, it felt so good to tell the truth, it was enough for him, and he didn't even think about anything else.
"Of course it will." Hermione said, turning her head to look at Luna next to her,
"Do you know when this article will be published?"
"I don't know." Luna shook her head,
"I may have to wait for the next issue, and Dad has already finalized it at this time."
"What's next...... Hermione muttered, but then she left it behind,
"It doesn't matter, as long as it's published!"
"Well, this can still be guaranteed." Luna replied.
