Chapter 17: Contradictions and Threesomes
Luke and the others entered the last carriage, and before they could begin to look for Rifle, they saw three boys blocking the doorway of a box in the middle of the carriage. It looks menacing.
The man at the head had blonde hair like corn whiskers. A haughty and defiant smile tugged at the corners of his mouth. And the two henchmen beside him, one tall and the other short. They all look like they're all fighting hard.
Hermione almost instinctively disliked the boy when she saw the boy's expression. Although he is also very handsome, he is still a notch behind Luke, not to mention things like demeanor and temperament.
"My name is Malfoy! Draco Malfoy! β
From afar, they heard the boy say his name in a haughty voice. It seems to be waiting for whose praise.
But Hermione frowned at hearing his name, and looked disgusted.
"Draco (Dragon)? Didn't his parents feel embarrassed when they came up with the name? And the surname is Malfoy. (Note 1)"
Hermione asked softly.
"I don't know, but the Malfoy family's reputation in aristocratic circles is really average."
Luke said lightly with a smile on his lips. It's not like he's talking nonsense. Before the start of school, one of the three things he did was to collect all the black histories left by the nobles left behind in his family.
Much of the Malfoys' dark history is almost on the surface. This also has something to do with the family's ostentatious nature. Among them, the story of Lucius Malfoy I's pursuit of Queen Elizabeth I is the main object of ridicule.
Others, such as controlling the Ministry of Magic and killing their own Muggle tenants under the pretext of the Black Death, are not unique to Black History. It's something that most pureblood families have.
Of course, there is a reason why everyone looks down on the Malfoy family and their family's history is indeed a bit short. Around the 11th century, one of the first Malfoys gained status by following Kaiser Wilhelm the Great.
Families like the Gaunts tend to be older than the Malfoys. For example, one of the direct ancestors of the Gaunt family is Salazar Slytherin. Hogwarts was founded around the 10th century. Slytherin's fame in the wizarding world would only have been much earlier.
ββ¦β¦ If I were you, Potter, I would be very careful, and you should be polite, or you will go down the path of your parents, and they will not know what to do. If you're with someone like the Weasleys or Hagrid, you're going to be affected. β
When Luke and Hermione came to their senses, they heard Malfoy's slow, defiant, arrogant, and warning voice again.
"It's time for a fight."
The corners of Luke's mouth twitched. This is different from the plot of the movie in his impression. However, it is not difficult to guess that this should be the plot in the original book. From this point of view, Harry and Draco were able to study together for seven years in peace, and they should feel that the rule of law in wizarding society has been relatively perfect.
Sure enough, as soon as Luke's words fell, Hermione heard a high-pitched voice full of anger: "Say it again! β
A sneer crossed Malfoy's face.
"Oh, you want to fight, don't you?"
"Unless you get me out now."
A voice that didn't sound so confident reached Luke's ears as well.
The corners of Luke's mouth twitched, and sure enough, where there was Ron, Harry would not be missing.
Malfoy's younger brother was ready to do it. Luke, on the other hand, threw his elegant wand directly out of his sleeve.
βIncendioοΌ (Flames!) οΌβ
A ball of flame poured out from the tip of Luke's staff, targeting the fat boy who was about to do it.
The Hermione people on one side were stupid. She had seen this spell in a book, but she had never really practiced it because she was afraid that something might happen to her at home, after all, it was not a first-year course.
They're just going to fight. You're going to kill them!
Hermione looked at Luke with a look of shock.
Luke was relatively calm, he had no intention of killing. Whether it was Goyle or Crabbe who did it, they weren't bad guys without help. Including Malfoy, they are all the objects that Luke wants to transform.
And the first stage of the renovation ...... Let them see who has the bigger fist.
The flames were not spurting fast, even with a screeching sound.
And Luke himself didn't suppress his voice, or use the silent spell he had spent nearly a month practicing. So the boy who did it, and Malfoy beside him, saw the fire spell coming at them.
As a result, Malfoy's already pale face instantly turned whiter, like a corpse.
Fortunately, their instincts dodged the fire spell that was easy to dodge.
The short and fat one crouched directly on the ground, Malfoy leaned sideways against the wall away from the path of the flame charm, and the tall and fat one sat on the ground with a limp leg.
And when it reached the position above their heads, the fire spell burst like a small firework, scattering countless sparks and extinguishing them in the air.
The movement was not small, and the few students who did not close the box door also saw all this.
Harry and Ron, of course.
In the eyes of everyone, Hermione tried to hold her chest up and raise her head as much as possible to make herself look a little more imposing. Luke, on the other hand, calmly stuffed his wand back into the miniature wand holster that had been enchanted with the Traceless Extension Charm.
He walked towards Malfoy's place. Along the way, he even smiled politely at those who looked at him.
His performance made many of the older students who witnessed it feel toothache.
With such a precise control of the Fire Charm, not many of their students could use it, even among their seniors. There are really not many students at Hogwarts, and there is no impression in this kind of mind, so it is naturally this year's freshmen.
A freshman, who seems to be able to beat the old freshman with combat power.
I don't know why, but they vaguely feel that something is not right.
"Luke!"
Harry recognized Luke at the first sight. Then he greeted Luke very warmly.
Ron looked at the smile on Harry's face and realized that this was what Harry was talking about as his first wizarding friend.
Ron looked at Luke carefully, and then saw the emerald eyes, and the snake crest on his chest. He recognized Luke's origins.
And Hermione looked at the two boys who poked their heads out at this time, and her brows couldn't help but furrow again. One with cracked glasses, the other cleanly dressed but somewhat old-fashioned, and a dirty thing on his face.
Along the way, it felt as if Luke fit the image of a wizard in her mind. Everyone else is more or less inferior.
Luke didn't know that at this time, he remembered that one of the trio was disgusting the other two, and the other two were all focused on him.

P.S. Note 1: The meaning of Malfoy's name is what I found out to a certain extent. It can probably be translated as Draco (Dragon/Draco) Malfoy (French means 'malicious, dishonest, disloyal'), and how to say it, it can be understood as "Hello, my name is Evil Dragon." Or, "Hello, I'm Draco, Evil." The name gives me a sense of being middle-of-the-road and evil. If someone says that I have such a name, I think it's hard for me to hold back.
