Chapter Ninety-Four: The Mexicans
Negotiations with the representatives of the United States cannot lead to anything until the outcome of the battle is decided.
I don't know when the Americans began to have a kind of self-righteous arrogance, whether it was war or negotiation, when they wanted to start, they took it for granted that the other side wanted to start too.
But when they want to end, they never ask the other person what they mean, they want to end it.
It's as if the script of the world was written specifically for them.
This is how the Mexican-American War began, and the Civil War in another time and space also began this way - the North and the South invariably intimidated each other, invariably escalated each other, and invariably started the war.
In another time and space, in the media world dominated by the Americans, the war was described as courteous gentlemen on both sides, and even the defeated Confederate Confederacy gained decency, 'grace in victory and humility in defeat', and Robert Lee and Thomas Jackson, who were on the losing side, became 'famous generals' who were publicized everywhere!
And then in reality, if the North and the South really had enough foresight and wisdom as advertised, it would have been an avoidable war.
Although there are fundamental differences between the two sides due to the conflict of economic interests, what is politics used for? What are politicians used for?
Both sides have the skill of 'pushing the limit' β perhaps the only one they have mastered, which should have been a win-win affair and ended up in a head-to-head encounter.
As luck would have it, it coincided with the Second Industrial Revolution;
The geographical location is good, and the ocean is surrounded by the ocean;
The time window is good, and the European powers are too busy to take care of themselves;
Give it a go, the bicycle becomes a motorcycle, and a Civil War also made him out. If it were replaced by any other country or civilization on the Eurasian continent, there would only be one result in such a huge mistake, and being divided and cannibalized would be the only fate.
The Civil War was not a fancy game, lackluster both militarily and politically. The wisdom of the American people was not high at this time, and it was not until the end of the 19th century, when a large number of immigrants began to pour in due to the fear of war.
- So here is a little digression, learning from the past, peace and stability are the most powerful weapons for a strong country, and they are more useful than a hundred brave and warlike generals. Don't think that negotiation means humiliation, peace means compromise, on the contrary, peace and stability are the weapons that fear the enemy the most.
-- More than 30 years after the end of the Civil War, the United States had already established itself as the first power in the Americas, and half of the world's number one position was reserved for him. However, at this time, the United States was facing its own warship "Maine" that was bombed and sunk by Spain at its own doorstep, and President William McKinley still quietly negotiated with Spain - how much less did the Americans suffer back then? When the United States became the number one in the world, who remembers these humiliating things back then?
- Of course, then again, peace and stability are weapons, but they cannot be used as an end. Otherwise, if you accidentally come to Manjianghong, that's another story.
In any case, the United States emerged from the 19th century, an era of iron and blood, and became a "beacon" of human civilization.
And the national temperament of the United States was condensed from the beating of the Indians!
The 19th century was the Gilded Age of America, but it was also the age of blood and tears of the Indians.
It's just that at this time, since the arrival of the turtledove, the national temperament of the United States has not yet had time to be formed, and it has encountered a little setback. Reflected in John Davis, Steve, and the two of them, they finally restrained a little bit of pride and began to inquire about the bottom line of the beavers!
Up and down the huge White Rock City is the embassy area, the negotiation plan, and the newspaper accusations and exaggerations...... Neither of these Americans was allowed to put away their arrogance. As a result, now, let the two Mexicans do it lightly!
β¦β¦
Two Mexicans are certainly not really Mexicans!
In the hearts of these Mexicans, who have half or one-quarter of white blood in their veins, the Indians of the North are their poor relatives from afar and a lingering stain on their lives.
If they could exchange blood, they would love to change all the Indian blood in their bodies.
They would rather beg for mercy at the guns of white men than call out to their distant poor relatives for help.
At this moment when the Mexican-American War is nearing its end, there are even many Mexicans who are faintly looking forward in their hearts - the white man is coming! The whites have come to their rescue! White people are coming to love them!
Over the centuries, they have worked hard to learn from white people, to imitate white people, to expect to govern their country like white people, and even to accept a white man as their emperor β but they still haven't become white.
They enslaved blacks like whites, invaded countries further south like whites, spoke white languages, lived white Christmas, but in the end they still didn't become white!
Now it's finally good, and the white man has taken the initiative!
Being a slave to a white man is much more advanced than being a slave to a half-breed, and that's what the vast majority of Mexican civilians really think in their hearts.
In another time and space, even if the United States built a high wall on the border, set up machine guns on the wall, and placed corpses under the machine guns, it still could not stop their enthusiasm for kneeling and licking.
Yondalgo brought them territorial independence, but not spiritual freedom.
It has nothing to do with whether they are geographically close to the United States, as a civilization that has been emasculated and grafted, 'attached' - this is the deepest desire of every Mexican's heart, "to be dominated" - this is not humiliation, but rather a reward, which can bring strange pleasure to this civilization.
It was not just the Indians that were exterminated in the United States, but the only civilization on the American continent that could develop independently.
That's why, Geronimo is not adapted to the soil in Mexico!
Originally, it was supposed to be the homeland of the Indians, but after more than 300 years of pollution, it can no longer grow independent and civilized crops.
He's struggling here, and whether it's whites, blacks, or Mexicans, they're despising him, ostracizing him, and making things difficult for him at every turn.
Even if the locals have only one-third of white blood in their bodies, they feel superior to him as an Apache person.
That's right, JuΓ‘rez, as a powerful warlord in Mexico, was also an Indian.
But this is an Indian who was enlightened from the Episcopal Theological Seminary of Santa Cruz and specialized in law and politics at the Oaxaca Academy of Sciences and Arts!
In the following decades, in his life's work, he did many vigorous things, but none of them were based on the liberation of the Indians as a nation.
He can't even be defined as a 'comprador', he is like a professional manager, and he has won many awards in the field of professional managers. Everybody was happy with him, similar to some great man in South Africa two hundred years later who wrote a book that might be harmonized.
Tenochtitlan was buried under Mexico City, and all Mexicans, including him, turned a blind eye β perhaps, starting with Indalgo, Mexicans had positioned themselves as dependents in their hearts.
γ
The so-called 'independence' of some civilizations is nothing more than the discovery of another financier.
Unfortunately, the United States has never given this loyal dependent a good look.
The goddess always beckons and goes when the dog licks the dog, but the United States is even more cruel to Mexico, and he even erases the words 'make his own decisions' from the Mexican dictionary.
"The tragedy of Mexico is that it is too far from God and too close to the United States!" Someone lamented that.
No!
It's not so much a lament as a grudge.
Mexico's tragedy lies in this resentment.
Two hundred years later, whenever the United States opened a hole in the border wall that only dogs could crawl through, Mexicans would probably immediately shout praises for America's benevolence and rubbed their tears on the Americans' laps again.
The world is not civilized, but some people are lucky enough to be born in a civilized country, so he feels that civilization is something that is within reach.
Since the death of the Indians, there have been only two civilizations left on the American continent: colonialism and colonialism!
β¦β¦
On the morning of 29 April, the first Indian Confederation army, 3,000 men, under the banner of red and blue, set out from the barracks at the southern foot of Mount Braque, detoured the Snake River, entered the Madre Mountains, and headed south on a secret trail known as the 'umbilical cord' for the past three years.
On the afternoon of April 29, Ikaruga, the supreme commander of White Rock City, issued the 'First National Mobilization Order of the Indian Union', conscripting 50,000 soldiers.
On the night of April 29th, the last negotiations between the Beavers and John Davis are scheduled to officially begin at 0:00!
