187 Resignation
The last time passed quickly, Jimmy completed all his community college exams, all that was left was to wait for the final certificate, and the county police career was nearing the end, he had rarely been out of the police recently, and the dispatch center basically didn't transfer the eucalyptus to his side.
On December 18th, Jimmy's last day at work, Jimmy was going through the final handover process in the morning, and then he packed his things into two boxes, and then he killed time and left the police station in the afternoon.
At noon, Jimmy didn't go out to eat, the police officers and office staff at the headquarters were also there, Jimmy called in advance to make an appointment for two restaurants to deliver food and coffee, and at noon the people from the police station had a simple dinner in the office, which was regarded as seeing off Jimmy, although Jimmy paid the bill.
In the afternoon, when Jimmy was about to leave, James stopped him, and in the police station hall, James gathered the people at the headquarters, and he pulled Jimmy to stand in front.
James: "As everybody knows, we're going to lose a colleague, a partner, a friend, Jimmy, and he's going to leave us today.
In these two years, Jimmy has been a good example for us, he is a good cop, a good colleague, a good partner, and his departure is the biggest loss for our police department this year.
It's only been two years, but he's done a lot for us, as a rookie police officer, he's always been at the forefront of the fight against criminals, and as a support officer, he's done all the work brilliantly, and we couldn't ask for more from him.
The good news is that Jimmy has received admission to the FBI National Academy and is about to attend FBI training, and in the near future, Jimmy will be known to us as an FBI agent.
Of course, I have another piece of good news to say that after discussions with the County Board of Management, based on Jimmy's service performance and merits over the past two years, we have decided to award Jimmy the Distinguished Meritorious Service Medal in advance in recognition of his contributions to us in the past two years."
James turned around and took a small box from the table next to him, opened it and handed it to Jimmy, which contained a small medallion. Jimmy tilted the box to show it to everyone and closed it, and everyone in the hall began to applaud, and Jimmy turned to give James a hug and said thank you.
James pressed his hands down, waited for everyone to stop, and said, "Don't worry, there's one more thing."
James took out a county police badge from his pocket, but unlike the normal badge, there was no number underneath.
James: "Jimmy, you'll always be one of us, and as sheriff, I'm awarding you the Honorary Sheriff's Badge of the Pulaski County Sheriff's Office."
Jimmy stood up straight, and James pinned the Honorary Officer badge to Jimmy's left chest.
Jimmy's eyes were a little red, and he whispered, "Thank you, Director."
James and Jimmy hugged each other and whispered in his ear, "Go and say goodbye to them."
Jimmy turned to look at everyone, his eyes swept over everyone, Jimmy said, "Today is my last day in the police station, thank you for your care and concern for me in the past two years, I spent the most important two years of my life here, it is the most memorable period of my life, and it is also a journey that will benefit me for a lifetime, although I cannot continue to serve in the police department, but no matter where I am, I will remember this time, remember you. Thank you."
β¦.
Everyone was applauding Jimmy, Jimmy bowed to everyone, then walked over and shook hands with everyone one by one, hugged him, and said goodbye to everyone, and finally, he took his box and walked out of the gate of the county police station, he didn't look back, and his colleagues behind him were still applauding and seeing him off.
Jimmy went to the parking lot, put the box in the trunk, and sat in the driver's seat. He took off the police badge on his left chest, wiped the dust that didn't exist on it with his clothes, and carefully put it in the medal box he had gotten.
There was no suitable thing to store this badge in his hand for the time being, and Jimmy didn't want to throw it in his pocket, which was the best gift of his two years as a police officer.
Jimmy adjusted his mood, started the car, and left the county police station.
Instead of going straight home, Jimmy didn't go straight home because he wasn't in a good mood, but drove to Justin's bar. It's afternoon, wine
The bar hadn't opened yet, but Jimmy knew Justin was inside, and he was just looking for someone to have a drink or two right now.
Jimmy calls Justin and asks Justin to open the door for him, and Jimmy enters the bar with the medal box, and Justin has already walked into the bar.
Jimmy placed the box on the bar, and Justin took his drink down and poured him a glass.
Justin: "Jimmy, you haven't been here in a long time, what's going on lately?"
Jimmy: "Oh, it's not a big deal, it's just that I left the county police today."
Justin was shocked, didn't he cooperate with Jimmy so much before, just to push a rising star he was optimistic about, why did this suddenly fly tomorrow's star?
Justin: "What's going on? Why did you leave your job? I haven't heard of anything big happening lately."
Jimmy waved his hand, then took a sip from his glass, "No, I changed jobs, and I'll be going to Virginia next year."
Justin thought for a moment, "FBIIA?"
Jimmy nodded, his eyes kept looking at the medal box, "Well, I'll go to the FBI National Academy next year."
Justin: "Then I should congratulate you on going from a small county sheriff to a federal agent."
Jimmy: "Well, but I'm used to life here, and I suddenly feel very uncomfortable." Jimmy reached for the box and pulled out the honorary officer badge. "I suddenly realized that I still like to wear this badge."
Justin didn't say anything more, just took a cup from under the bar, poured himself a glass, and took a sip with Jimmy's clinking glasses.
Jimmy holds the badge and swipes his thumb back and forth over it.
Justin: "Reluctantly?"
Jimmy put the badge back in the box and re-closed it, "It's a little bit, it's been 2 years after all. Don't talk about that, Justin, cheers."
Jimmy finished the wine in his glass, took the bottle and poured it himself.
Jimmy: "Justin, I may not be able to cooperate with you in the future, next year I will go to the academy for training for half a year, and then I will not be assigned to where I will be assigned later, and I probably won't come back to Little Rock."
Justin: "Well, it's okay, we're not going to see each other again. Keep the card, it will be useful elsewhere."

Jimmy: "People in other cities recognize it?"
Justin: "Yes, after all, we are all partners, if you have anything, you can contact me, rest assured, it will not be any different from before."
Jimmy: "Thanks."
