Chapter Eighty-Three: Departure
Evan, who was originally a little scattered, instantly focused, and his gaze stared at Sean solemnly, as if he was looking at some monster.
Satuk's heart also stirred up waves because of Sean's words.
Despite this, he has long been in a high position, and he has already practiced extremely high facial expression management skills, even if he is slightly jealous, he still uses a-for-tat tone to talk to Sean.
"You threaten me?"
Satuk's voice did not change, it remained cold.
"It's not a threat."
Sean shook his head with a smile, "I think it's a fair deal. ā
"Although I will leave Hogle City for the time being, it doesn't mean that we won't cooperate in the future, you don't need to spend much to help me take care of him, and when I come back, believe me, you will get more rewards than you imagined."
"What kind of wealth is a trainee-level alchemy mage, I think you should understand, I like a peaceful life very much, but the benefits of the next war are too great, so I will take the initiative to participate."
"To be honest, the two of us are actually very similar, but because of different circumstances, we will have different choices."
"If you put yourself in my shoes and speculate a little, you will know how it is more cost-effective for me, we are all the same kind of people, and you should understand me."
ā¦ā¦
"I'll admit, you're right."
"You have intelligence, ambition, purpose, conviction and, most importantly, talent."
"I was a little dismissive when you said that you might be promoted to the official rank, but now I have a little bit of a belief that people like you will be like a fish in water in this world, and as long as you don't die early, you will definitely achieve great things."
"Well, this investment, I accept, I believe in your future."
After a long silence, Satuk looked at Sean with a flash of emotion in his eyes.
He took a deep breath and led Evan to the door to wait.
Looking at the figures of the two, Sean blinked and chuckled.
Then he lowered his head again and looked at Estelle in front of him.
"Stand up, you should be stronger."
Touching her head, Sean bent down and lifted her to the side of the chair, wanting to talk to her.
"Do you know why I'm leaving here?"
Squatting down beside Istelle, Sean asked with some emotion.
"Because you're cold-blooded."
Estelle buried her head in her knees, her voice muffled, she was in a mess now, and she didn't know what to do.
"Hmm...... You got it right, but that's just one of the reasons. ā
"The main reason is that if I don't leave, it will be difficult to leave in the future."
"I am a mage of the alchemy department, and in the face of huge interests, whether it is your father or other nobles, they will not let me grow up at will."
Sean pulled her arm away and forced his eye on her.
"I want to go further, I want to be stronger, I don't want to be a tool."
"Those alchemy mages with weak combat power are either far away from the world and hiding in a place that they have carefully arranged for themselves to tremble, or they are controlled by the nobles and cannot achieve true freedom."
"This is not the place for me to grow up, so I must leave here for a while and come back when I have enough strength, and I will be a powerful mage, not a weak one to be slaughtered."
"So I'm leaving, I'm going to war, you understand? It's not that I don't like comfort, it's that I can't be comfortable now. ā
"I can't take care of you on the battlefield, so I can only temporarily resign you to stay in Hogar City, and one day in the future, I will come to see you as a reward for giving me your body, and then you will get your youth and life."
Estelle looked at Sean with red and swollen eyes, her eyes were extremely complicated, and she didn't know what she was thinking.
"You...... Are you really leaving? ā
Her voice choked, and she stretched out her right hand to caress Sean's face as if there was a long distance.
"Yes."
Sean's gaze was calm, and his words were so firm that nothing could shake his will.
"Well, then......"
"Hurry up...... IāI'm here for you, don't forget me......"
Estelle's little face twitched, and she barely managed to squeeze out a somewhat sad smile.
Her voice trembled, as if she was enduring something, and Sean was a little silent.
He gently hugged her, and their chests pressed together, and the warm feelings passed to each other.
"Why...... Why can't you live well? Why are you so busy, so tired, so constantly moving forward? ā
The voice of grievance came from Sean's ears, and Estelle's voice struck Sean's heart, but he did not waver in the slightest.
"Because the world likes the strong."
"Only by becoming stronger, becoming stronger than anyone else, can you control your destiny and live the life you want."
"This is freedom, the freedom to break everything, and I'm pursuing it until I succeed or die."
Sean held Estelle's shoulder, and he saw the girl burst into tears, her eyes revealing confusion.
"Maybe you'll understand one day, maybe you'll never."
"But I'm sorry, I have to."
Helping her to her seat, Sean stood up again, his back to her pleading gaze.
"See you next time, Astelle."
Then he walked away, without hesitation, without looking back.
ā¦ā¦
Estelle's gaze was glazed, unable to move into the distance, as if she had broken through an obstacle and stared at something.
After Sean had gone away, Satuk returned to the house, sighed, and sat down beside Estelle.
The previous conversation between the two was not hidden from them, and Sean's purpose was clear, which was to let him comfort Estelle and take care of her by the way, so that she would not act irrationally.
After being a nobleman for so long, he has long lost most of his feelings, but now facing his daughter alone, Satuk's heart still has an inexplicable feeling.
"Don't look, he's gone."
Satuk seems to have become a father again, but this time it no longer seems to be a disguise.
"Father, why did he leave?"
Estelle still asked the question, as if she didn't understand anything.
"He must go."
ā¦ā¦
"Who wants him to go?"
"Everybody wants him to go. Of course, the most important thing is that he himself wants to go. ā
ā¦ā¦
"Can he not go, then?"
"Go to the end, or go where he wants to go, or go the farthest, and he won't go."
ā¦ā¦
"Where is the place he wants to go, where is the head?"
"I don't know."
Satuk shook his head and looked into the distance, "Maybe he knows, maybe he doesn't know." ā
"But I once read a sentence in a book."
"Only by burning life can an epic be written, and a legend will be forged by dying and living."
