Chapter 22: The Ghost Ship
Last summer, Rove went to the Tormes Convent to look for Shirley, and he was surprised to find that Ravenclaw's tomb was also nearby, so he stopped by to find Helena's ...... Tomb.
In that thousand-year-old tomb, Rove and Shirley not only saw the bodies of Ravenclaw and Helena, but also found a wooden coffin, a golden apple tree with Ravenclaw's face carved into it, and a mermaid statue!
And the mermaid statue and the giant statue in front of him, except for the difference in size, are exactly the same.
This feeling is like finding terracotta warriors and horses in the tomb of Qin Shi Huang, which I thought was something unique.
But I didn't expect to turn around and see the identical terracotta warriors and horses in other places, and even upgraded from a figure to a Gundam...... It's hard not to be shocked!
Rove originally thought that the mermaid statue that could enter the Blurry Illusion was a magical item made by Ravenclaw himself.
But looking at it now, it is more likely to be related to the island in front of you.
Just as the boy was thinking, Shirley narrowed her brilliant eyes and said curiously:
"Rove, this is the mirage you used to call it, right?"
Rove came back to his senses, looked at the island looming in mid-air, and nodded lightly, "That's right." ”
There is no such thing as a floating island in the wizarding world, so the island and statue floating in the air in front of you are obviously a mirage.
But then again, mirage, as an optical phenomenon, is the result of the refraction of light rays in layers of air with different densities in the direction of a straight line.
In other words, a mirage can only be formed after the refraction of light.
So, the islands and the statues must be real, but they are not in sight.
So here's the problem...... Which island has a castle and a mermaid statue hundreds of meters high?
Rove didn't know, but a mysterious intuition told him that the island in front of him was exactly what he had in mind:
Avalon.
……
……
For many passengers, a mirage in the sea is the first time they have seen it.
When many wizards got the news, they came out of the cabin one after another, stood on the deck, and excitedly pointed at the sky.
But Captain Carlos, who had seen mirages many times, shrank uncharacteristically at this time, and a wave of awe and fear arose in his heart.
He had seen the chart of Kulga and knew that the island with the fountain of good luck was in the North Sea!
Carlos didn't know if the island in front of him was it, but whether it was or not, just stay away from here.
Carlos rushed towards the rudder and began to turn course, shouting to the sailors:
"Sail...... Set sail! ”
The sailors immediately obeyed the order, quickly loosened the cable, and lowered the three burgundy sails, and the Mayflower suddenly turned in a circle, set off a wave and sailed in the opposite direction,
But I never thought that after a hundred nautical miles, the mirage scene could still be seen, and even the distance from the Mayflower did not seem to have changed.
This strange situation also convinced Rove that this was Avalon.
The boy was going to investigate, but he didn't plan to do it himself, it would be too dangerous and not in line with his usual cautious style.
Rov looked at Shirley, no need to speak, years of tacit understanding had already made her understand.
The ponytailed girl took out some food from her pocket, put it in the palm of her hand, and raised it high into the sky.
A hovering seagull flew smoothly towards the food.
When it landed in the palm of her hand, Shirley quickly grabbed the seagull and soothed it with her fingers by stroking its feathers.
With the dragon crystal dagger, Rove stabbed his finger, and the blood beads rolled down and soaked into the seagull's eyes, and he waved his wand and began to recite the incantation.
The magic, called "The Shapeshifter", came from Lord Voldemort, who used it to invade Quirrell's consciousness and control his movements.
You can control the wizard, and Rove can naturally use it to control the actions of the animals.
If he wished, he could put on the form of any bird or beast, flying in the sky, swimming in the water, or climbing on land, and then see things in the distance through their eyes.
And his body will stay on the Mayflower, and even if something really happens, Rove will be safe.
Rove stared directly at the seagull with his turquoise blue eyes like stars, letting his consciousness slowly invade.
He could clearly feel the fierce struggle, but that resistance had no effect in the face of great force, and the seagull was quickly subdued.
When he opened his eyes again, Rove's vision had already come to the seagull, and the main body closed his eyes as if he was asleep.
Shirley hugged the boy to prevent him from falling, and then she looked at the seagull and said softly:
"Rove, I'll help you protect your body, you go early and come back early."
Rov jumped onto Shirley's shoulder, pecked her shirt, and then masterfully controlled the seagull's body and flew towards the sky.
The wings drank the long wind, which carried him to a high place, and the zenith sky suddenly opened up, and the world below became smaller and smaller.
Rove flapped his wings and flew straight to the island in the sky.
As he slowly approached, he found a huge ship floating underneath the mirage.
The ship looked like a medium-sized cruise ship, with a rusty hull and a scarred surface, with a large iron anchor hanging from the bow and a screeching sound as the wind blew the anchor against the hull.
Rove landed on the mast and found that the deck was already in tatters, with a lot of dark cyan mildew attached to the surface, and all kinds of tools were rotten, discarded everywhere, and the depression was almost like a garbage dump.
The ship was naturally empty, there were no sailors, no passengers, no life.
- Ghost Ship!
The thought crossed Rove's mind, and he turned to look at the stern, but he didn't see the wooden coffin carved with the symbol of the Deathly Hallows.
Obviously, this ship was not the ghost ship he had encountered two years earlier.
Rove waved his wings and flew into the captain's room, looking for something valuable.
But it was also a dilapidated scene: cracked parchment maps, faded carpets, tattered yellowwood tables and chairs, almost crumbling......
A painting on the wall that caught Rove's attention.
The whole room, everything was rotten, but only it was still intact.
Rove flew up to the painting and saw a galleon painted inside.
It had a black and gold hull, a bow like a lion with its front paws raised, and three masts on which huge boxy red sails were pulled.
Not far away, there was a huge wave, surging and smashing, and the ship seemed to want to get away from the huge wave.
Everything in the picture is in motion, but it's not exactly the same as the Hogwarts portraits, the colors in the paintings are so real, so pure, so lifelike.
It's as if Rove is looking through the glass and looking at the real world.
In the next second, the feathers on Rove's head were blown by the wind, and this gust of wind was blowing from the painting.
Suddenly, along with the wind, there was a sound—the sound of surging waves, the crash of the waves against the side of the ship, the creaking of the boat.
And there is also the smell, the saltiness of the raging sea.
Finally, the three-masted ship was hit by a huge wave, tossed in the water, the hull turned over, and Rove could read the handwriting on the stern:
Mayflower.
