Volume 1 Juvenile Chapter 98 Siege of the City
Around the city, there are several rural towns, and a little further out, there are bushes and lush forests.
The sudden outbreak of war panicked the city, and the surrounding towns were the first to fall.
A tactically well-trained and ferocious army began to burn and loot everywhere, and the surviving townsfolk fled to Ida City for refuge.
The missiles in the sky smashed into the city like meteorites, with billowing flames, and they were completely defenseless.
Many buildings were reduced to ruins in an instant, and the bustling streets in the center were replaced by smoke and fire.
Chariots, catapults, giant crossbow arrows, these large weapons, operating in the hands of soldiers in dark blue armor, turned into raindrops of attacks, all smashing into the city.
Emergency protection was activated, and a layer of light curtain enveloped the entire city of Clicka, temporarily resisting the attack.
All the armies of the city, the knights, and even the adventurers and minor mages joined in the battle.
The four magic schools are staffed by teachers and students to defend themselves against attacks.
Five days ago, four sect-level magicians joined the enemy army, and the protective light curtain of Bada City was completely destroyed by a large hand that appeared in the sky.
That big hand was a chaos monster summoned by these four sect-level magicians who used summoning magic together to open dimensional rifts.
Without a single soldier from the enemy, the black skeleton's big hand nearly destroyed the entire city.
Grand Mentor Gandalf intervened in time, and it took a huge amount of magic to repel it and seal the dimensional rift in the sky.
He left the city alone, and after two days and two nights of fighting with four sect-level wizards, he returned to the city safely and entered Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry to heal his wounds.
Without a protective light curtain, the enemy's attacks immediately bombarded the city like a devastation.
Dozens of magicians have teamed up to conjure up temporary light curtains above the city to protect it from destruction.
Although it had a certain defensive effect, the defensive area was far less than the original light curtain, resulting in the destruction of all places except the central area.
As soon as the enemy stopped the bombardment, they sent a large number of soldiers, using chariots, siege engines and ladders, to fight to the death against the defending forces on the city wall.
The battle lasted for half a month, with 20,000 casualties in between, accounting for half of the city's population, which can be described as shocking.
Randy's Perspective:
It all happened too suddenly.
Half a month ago, I was still immersed in the joy of going to school, and my small life was very leisurely.
But now, I live in fear every day, stationed near the city gate with others, and worry about the enemy attack from time to time at night, and I am mentally exhausted.
I was forced to join this war, I had never experienced it, and I was scared and panicked.
"Oh no, they're here again!"
"Hurry up and cast a magic attack, don't let them get near the walls."
I was standing on the city wall, and suddenly a dense black chariot appeared in the distance.
These vehicles had four wheels and were the size of a tank of the previous life, with a heavy cone in front.
Through the Elven Eye, I saw soldiers pushing the chariot forward under the thick shell.
I raised my wand and unleashed my most powerful attack magic, and the dirt around me floated into the air, then coalesced into a flaring ball of flame above my head.
"Boom."
The bullet slammed into one of the vehicles, causing a violent explosion.
After the smoke and flames cleared, the chariot was unscathed, paused for a moment to move on.
I was puzzled to find that the people around me were in the same situation, and no matter what kind of magic they used, they couldn't hurt the chariot in the slightest.
Chariots approached and attacked the city gates.
A swarm of soldiers in dark blue armor quickly popped out of the other chariots, set up ladders and began to climb.
Several city guards brought a large pot of hot oil and poured it towards the group of blue-armored soldiers.
The screams sounded, and the armor on these people was tight and impermeable, but they couldn't withstand the washing of hot oil, and the liquid would flow more or less down the cracks in the armor.
As soon as the blue-armored soldier fell from the ladder and fell to the ground, other soldiers rushed forward one after another.
The siege caravan approached, and its defenses were as strong as the chariots, and even a few mages bombarded them in succession, but they did not lose the slightest damage.
The walls began to shake, and siege engines crashed into the gates.
I panicked in my heart, and used several attack magic in a row to deal with the siege car, and the magic in my body was almost exhausted, and it did not hinder me in the slightest.
Suddenly, a blue-armored soldier climbed up the wall, turned his head and locked on to me, slashing at me with a knife.
I used a high-velocity water bomb and blasted it away.
I noticed that the blue-armored soldier had only ten seconds to stand up, unscathed.
I instantly understood why magical attacks didn't work against these vehicles and soldiers.
Enchantment!
They all enchanted their respective armor and fought against it with their magical powers, but of course they couldn't wreak havoc.
The blue-armored soldiers rushed at me again.
A black shadow flashed quickly, and the sword shadow shook, and the blue-armored soldier was cut off by the waist and fell to the ground.
It was Ms. Sasha, and she helped me again.
"Randy, use more wind magic, get these enchanted guys into the sky, and then smash them down so hard that they are guaranteed to be smashed to pieces."
Awakened by Sasha's words, I immediately unleashed a giant waterspout, easily rolling the blue-armored soldiers who had climbed the ladder into the sky, along with the ladder, and falling down heavily.
The rest of the people were inspired to use their wind magic, and finally together they summoned a powerful air current, which swept all the chariots and siege vehicles in attendance.
I hugged the walls, my robe was blown by the hurricane, and the strong air almost swept me away.
I was relieved to finally fend off a wave of attacks and look at the retreating enemy troops.
"Well done, Randy, if it weren't for you, we wouldn't know what to do."
"Randy is so clever that he knows how to use wind magic to repel enemies."
"He is worthy of being the best student of Kekoya!"
……
The people around me cast appreciative glances at me, whether it was classmates, city guards, or people from other magic schools, they kept complimenting me.
I rubbed my head and smiled, "Teacher Sasha told me to do this."
Hey, what about her? ”
Looking back, I found that Sasha was gone.
It seemed that she had been looking weak and limpish in the last few days, and sometimes I could see her hand holding the sword trembling slightly.
Maybe the long battle had overworked her.
I looked at the ruins and ruins of the city, and I couldn't help but sigh and walk down the wall.
The wounded were treated in a distant clearing, and I dragged my tired body over to rest.
