161: Forbidden Books and Cleaning Photos
As the semester went on, the Quidditch season returned to normal, and there was once again laughter at Hogwarts, no one cared that a Slytherin student had just been withdrawn from school, and Bernie Selwyn's luggage had been removed from his dormitory and disappeared from Hogwarts.
The mandrake was not yet ripe, and Madam Pomfrey, Ginny, and Hermione had to lie in bed and wait a little longer.
This was a pain for Ron and Harry, they had to adapt to the days without Hermione, Potions class was the most abrasive, they could only huddle in the dark underground Potions classroom, face Snape's eyes all the time, hand in a potion with a very low degree of completion before class, and then watch Snape draw a big T on the score board.
Joel has also been a bit miserable lately, and his popularity on the Hogwarts campus has risen another notch after the Chamber of Secrets turmoil, and many of the senior sisters and sisters have ignored Helis's murderous and vicious gaze and rubbed against Joel, who think they are much more beautiful than Halis.
Joel complained bitterly, he didn't dare to hang around outside at all now, so he hurried back to his dormitory after class and communicated with Helis through the two-way mirror.
A week after the Chamber of Secrets, the crowd descended on the lawn in front of the castle under the direction of Professor McGonagall.
"Mr. Taylor, you and Miss Selwyn move your positions," Professor McGonagall measured the distance from five meters away, "you two are taller, and it would be better to stand in the middle." β
Harry and Ron stood on either side, Joel and Haylis stood in the middle, and Professor Lockhart stood in the second row, holding out his arms around his four students, grinning his trademark smile.
Professor Flitwick was in charge of photographing them, his diminutive body bouncing around in front of the camera in a comical pose.
"Three, two, one......"
Joel quietly reached out her fingers to hook Hayris's palm, and she glanced sideways, pursing her lips to reveal a pair of dimples.
The magnesium lamp thudded, recording the faces of the five men.
The Ravenclaw Quidditch team has been in the limelight lately, winning both Slytherin and Hufflepuff, and are just shy of their final game against Gryffindor, with a loss of less than 50 points to see the Ravenclaw Trophy in the redundliary.
Thanks to Eddie and Roger Davis, the Quidditch Twins have developed tactics that have been modeled after many of the biggest Quidditch clubs, and the Ravenclaw students have a strong understanding that makes it easy to put these tactics into practice.
During this time, Joel stayed with Professor Barbling, working against the clock to write her paper on H?lsinge Runes, and Joel ran errands for her and went to the library to borrow materials.
Professor Babling himself has two large bookcases of Rune Runes, but none of them involve H?lsinge Runes, and wizards have no way to use this script to guide spells, and they don't study this branch of Runes at all, only a few archaeological books in the library deal with this language.
Joel receives a certificate from Professor Babling that she can enter and exit the forbidden area an unlimited number of times, and Professor Babling is not sure which books will be useful for her research, so she simply gives it carte blanche to Joel.
Mrs. Pince stared at Professor Babling's floral signature on the note, as if trying to poke a hole in it.
"This is really Professor Babling's signature," Joel said helplessly, "you can go to her and ask for it." β
Mrs. Pince's eyes moved slightly, and she was silent, "That's not necessary. β
She turned and led Joel towards the forbidden book section, and around the depths of the library, they finally came to the outside of the forbidden book area, where there was a bronze door with a bronze lock on it, the lock carved with the Hogwarts school crest, and a sign standing next to the bronze door - no students and cats, Joel suspected that Mrs. Pins was targeting Filch's cat, Lady Loris.
"Stand back." Mrs. Pince commanded.
Joel obediently shrank back on her toes.
Mrs. Pince stretched out her right hand and grabbed the copper lock, a faint blue light flashed on it, and Joel could feel a magic awakening from Mrs. Pince.
With a click, the copper lock opened, and Mrs. Pince pushed open the bronze door, and the smell of dust came to her face.
Joel walked in after her, he didn't expect it to be so complicated, he vaguely remembered that Harry's first year cloak, breaking into the forbidden book section in the cloak seemed simple and effortless.
"Lady Pins, is there only one forbidden section at Hogwarts?" Joel took two steps forward.
Mrs. Pince turned her head and looked at Joel with caring eyes, "Sure, I look like I have something wrong with my brain?" Putting banned books in two zones? β
Joel: "......"
He felt that the forbidden book area was in the innermost part of the library, and Mrs. Pince definitely didn't have the energy to take care of this area, if it was so easy to enter according to the standards of the original book, those students would have already gone through the books in the forbidden area.
Just like Lockhart in the original book, there is no such critical professor in Joel's magical world.
"If you want to go through a certain book, tell me in advance," Mrs. Pince glanced at him, "and many of the books have defensive prohibitions, and they can easily hurt people. β
Joel nodded, the forbidden book area was sealed all around, there was not even a single window, and the sunlight from the outside world could not penetrate at all, resulting in the extremely dark in the forbidden book area, Joel had to use the fluorescent flicker spell to find the books in the forbidden book area by the light.
The materials on the ancient scriptures were placed on five separate shelves, and Joel spent an hour digging through the moldy stacks to finally find four ancient books that mentioned H?lsinge Runes.
Mrs. Pince took it off the shelf and stuffed it into Joel's arms.
"Half a month should be enough, right?" She spoke, "Declare in advance, I don't want to see any wrinkles in these books, what I looked like when I handed them to you, and what you should look like when you return them, otherwise you won't want to go into the forbidden book section next time." β
Joel nodded in agreement, and as he left, he glanced at the bookshelf closest to the bronze door, and saw a book he was interested inβan analysis of the spell casting methods and mystical spells of the eighth-century Norse wizards.
Eighth century? Isn't that the same age as the seven ancient books recorded by HΓΆlsinge Runes? Joel is in for it, maybe he can find some clues in it?
ββ¦β¦ Mrs. Pince, and the book. Joel stopped the librarian who had already walked to the door.
Mrs. Pince's emaciated body paused, and she turned her head to follow Joel's gaze.
"This is also Professor Babling's research direction?" Mrs. Pince was a little suspicious, her eagle-sharp gaze locked on Joel, "Isn't she engaged in ancient magic scripts?" β
"Of course, the ancient magic script should correspond to the casting of spells, which is also the research direction of Professor Babling." Joel said of course, "The magical materials produced in this era are quite dense, and Professor Babling must be very interested in them. β
Mrs. Pince frowned, and she pulled the ancient book out of the shelf, with a handful of dust with her.
Joel then saw a black cross on the cover of the book, connecting the midpoints of the four sides of the cover and twisting it into a lock in the center of the cover.
Mrs. Pince pondered for a moment, pressed her palm against the cover, and a pale blue light spread from her palm to all sides.
Black smoke spews from the cross, which gradually retracts to the edge of the cover as the black smoke floats into the air.
"Give." Mrs. Pince said in a wicked voice, stacking the book in Joel's arms.
Out of the forbidden book area, the previously oppressive atmosphere immediately dissipated, and the sun shone on Joel's face with a warm warmth.
Saying goodbye to Mrs. Pince, Joel leaves the library.
Most of these ancient books have an unrepeatable charm, which may have been laid by the author at the time, or it may have been set up after being included in the Hogwarts Library, once the copy spell is cast on these books, it will cause irreparable serious consequences, and immediately pull out the system panel, and after looking for a long time in the system mall, I didn't find what I wanted.
He had no choice but to leave it for now, and go to Professor Babling's office first.
"I'll see, these books ......," Professor Barburing said, propping up the glasses on the bridge of his nose, "they're all very useful, thank you." β
"It's nothing, it's all I should do......" Joel said modestly, he didn't mind getting on good terms with professors in various disciplines as much as he could, and he realized something was wrong with that, "Did you say this book was also helpful?" β
He looked down at Professor Babling's book "Analyzing the Spell Casting Methods and Mysterious Spells of the Eighth Century Norse Wizards", and tried to hide the salivation in his eyes.
"Yes, the way medieval wizards cast spells is to some extent the same as the habits of the classical era, but there are also new developments of their own, and for us now, the Middle Ages are more like a time of continuity, and this book is definitely very valuable."
"Honestly," Joel smiled, "Professor Babling, I'm very interested in this book. β
Professor Barblin glanced up at him and put the quill in his hand down. "Then you take it first, a week should be enough, right?"
"Thank you so much!" Joel bowed deeply.
When he returned to his dormitory, he immediately wrote a mail-order slip, stuffed a large handful of gold gallons into his owl Bobby, and sent him to Diagon Alley.
A day later, Poppy flapped her wings and flew back to the Ravenclaw Tower, bringing back a brown cloth bag.
"Thank you so much, take a break." Joel affectionately smoothed the owl's feathers, and Poppy tilted her neck to enjoy it.
He watched the owl fall asleep in its cage, and quickly opened the brown cloth bag, which contained a simple camera, for which Joel paid a fortune.
Clumsily changing to film, Joel flipped through the pages of the ancient books, taking a separate photo of each page, and it took several sets of film to finish it.

Early Saturday morning, it was the long-lost Hogsmeade visiting day, and Joel took the initiative to go to Hogsmeade considering that he had not been alone with Helis in reality for a long time, and Helis stayed up all night to finish the study of the Saturday day in advance.
"I've heard that there are a few new limited-edition silk scarves in the Fengya clothing store," Helis said, holding Joel's arm, "and there's a Ravenclaw colorway!" β
"Buy, buy, buy."
"The jewelry store has launched several necklaces, and there are couples' styles......"
"Buy, buy, buy."
Joel did not hesitate to answer one by one, he is also a rich man now, he doesn't care about the little money he buys, and the monthly CLBT share is enough to pay.
Helis smiled happily when she heard Joel's response, she wasn't short of this little money, but she was content with the feeling of shopping with her boyfriend.
After spending most of the day with Helis in Hogsmeade, and finally drinking two bottles of Butterbeer at Three Broomsticks, Joel sends Helis back to Hogwarts Castle through the One-Eyed Witch Secret Passage.
He took several sets of film and ran to Diagon Alley, took the Knight Bus to Diagon Alley, and then went through Diagon Alley to the Leaky Cauldron, back to the Muggle world.
Charing Cross Street was bustling with activity in the evening, and since there were no mobile phone navigations now, Joel searched the Muggle world for a long time before finding a photo studio.
By the time he had cleaned out all the photos, it was 8 p.m.
After eating a sandwich at the surrounding fast-food restaurants, he hurriedly put the picture into a blue satin cloth bag with the Traceless Stretching Charm, stretched out his wand in a dark alley, and took the knight's bus back to Hogsmeade.
The students of Hogwarts had long since returned to the schoolyard, and the village was now deserted, with most of the shops closed for rest, except for the three brooms and the lights of Duke Honey's confectionery.
Joel quickened his pace and walked through the dark, deserted streets.
After turning a corner and walking two steps to the Duke of Honey's candy store, Joel suddenly felt a chill of citrus coming from his back.
He instinctively looked back, but he didn't find anything strange, he was the only one on the street.
Joel shook his head and muttered, "I guess it's a little cold at night, and I don't wear much, so it's cold......"
He said as he continued to walk forward, slowly pulling out the wand from his robe's pocket.
Behind an oak tree behind him, a black shadow flashed, and the corners of his mouth opened a hideous arc.
