164: Secrets of Norse Mythology
Joel listened to William's narration and frowned in confusion.
"You say those Norse gods are real?" He sat down in a wooden chair and leaned forward slightly, feeling as if he had learned a shocking secret.
"That's right," said William, whose face was distorted by the pain as cold sweat and blood mixed together, "those Muggles call gods are wizards. β
"Shhh......hhh β
"Really, really......" William is now afraid that Joel will not believe him, and he is afraid that he will go crazy if he has a few more Drill Heart Curses.
"You know Merlin, right?" William's eyes were closed, and the blood on the top of his head ran down his forehead and down his sockets.
"Of course," Joel clasped his hands to his chest, "he's a Hogwarts Slytherin graduate, our famous alumnus. β
"Then you should also know his story in the Muggle world," William explained to him, taking the opportunity to quickly adjust his physical condition, "and he helped King Arthur ascend to the throne, leaving behind a legend that Muggles will talk about......"
"I know, I know, it's all recorded in the history of Hogwarts," Joel quickly interrupted, a flash of inspiration flashing through his mind, "You mean that the characters in Norse mythology have the same fate as Merlin?" β
"That's right," William said, with a teachable expression, "they are wizards with extraordinary magical powers, and in ancient times these gods disdained to use wands, and could cast earth-shaking magic, and some Muggles saw it and compiled it into legends for the world. β
Joel was so shocked that he rummaged through a lot of books about Norse mythology, never expecting that this would be the case.
He frowned and leaned back in his wooden chair to digest the shocking news.
"Do you know anything else about that slate?" Joel asked, having heard William and AndrΓ© in the Norwegian Forest about the origin of the slate.
William shook his head, "The clue I got from a squib is too old, and he doesn't know who made it, only that there is a secret treasure hidden in it. β
"I don't know anything else," William saw Joel's unhappy expression, knowing that he was not satisfied with what he said, and hurriedly spoke, "You touch me, hurry!" β
Joel:???
William didn't know why he looked at him.
"Hurry up!"
He urged.
Joel cautiously pointed his wand at William, his left hand gently touching his coat pocket.
"Is that it?" Joel looked at the black cloth bag in his palm.
William nodded repeatedly, "Open the bag, and there's a book inside." β
Joel was afraid that there was some mechanism inside, so he used a few discrimination spells on the cloth bag, and according to the results, this cloth bag was an ordinary container with a traceless stretching charm.
He used a fluorescent flicker spell to illuminate the space in the cloth bag and make sure there were no other strange things before reaching in and pulling out a book.
"Analysis of the Spell Casting Methods and Mysterious Spells of the Eighth Century Norse Wizards".
Joel looked at the book in his hand and didn't know what to say, he had just cleaned the photo out tonight, but he didn't expect William to have one in his hand.
"This is the only one," William could not read Joel's facial expression, "I paid a fortune to get it from an Arab merchant!" β
Joel sighed, "Okay, you did your best." β
He put the book away and sat down again.
"Y-what are you going to do......" William shuddered, feeling frightened by Joel.
"Didn't you scream at first?" Joel wondered, "So cowardly now?" β
William's tyrannical cruelty in the past is completely different from his current personality.
"I ......" William can't say it, he is really afraid of death, he graduated from Durmstrang and entered the Eternal Night People because he committed a murder outside, and he needs to find a big tree to enjoy the shade, otherwise who will join the Eternal Night People after the collapse of the Soviet Union.
"Afraid of death, huh?" Joel sighed, "I understand, but it's a pity ......"
What a pity? William's heart jumped to his throat.
"You know too much," Joel didn't intend to let William go, and in his plan, William would be left dead at best, "There's no way I'm going to let you go." β
"Don't, don't......" William was anxious, and in a hurry, he blurted out, "You have stripped off the mark of the Eternal Night, and the leader will definitely track me down, and you will lose more than you gain by then!" β
vertex
Joel laughed, and there was a little blood on the corner of his mouth, which looked particularly terrifying, "I was just going to say that if I killed you and faked it as an accident, do you think your leader would not notice?" Even if you notice it, will it stand up for you? β
"We have a lot of tourist attractions at Hogwarts, one of which is the Forbidden Forest," Joel patiently explained to him, "and there are a lot of kind animals living in it, such as a large snake that is thicker than a human waist, or an eight-eyed spider the size of a truck, and by the way, a lot of werewolves......"
William, sifting chaff and his face as pale as paper, figured out what Joel meant, if the Nightlings rushed to England to find out the truth about his death and found out that it had nothing to do with Joel, would they risk offending Dumbledore and the British Ministry of Magic to kill Joel?
The answer is definitely no.
After the collapse of the Soviet Union, the strength of the Eternal Nights organization weakened rapidly, and they could see that even if they succeeded in holding on to Russia's vast territory, not to mention sending additional men to Britain thousands of miles away to plan an assassination operation, and William was sure that Joel should not be underestimated, and if the men sent were not strong enough, he was afraid that he would be killed by Joel again.
He seems to be walking into a dead end, unless......
"Well, if you can't think of it, just take a look out the window," Joel was very understanding, "If nothing else, this should be the last night of your not long life's journey." β
"You have a lot of them, please spare my life!" William wept bitterly, "I am willing to be a cow and a horse for you, even as your servant!" β
"It's too late," Joel shook his head, "If you hadn't threatened me with Haylis before, I might have considered ......"
With that, he gagged William's mouth and checked the rope that had been tied to him again, before he conjured a bed and lay on the ground to make up for sleep.
When it was dawn, Joel got up and cleaned up the traces left in the room, and then decisively stunned William, who had saved his luck, and treated the wounds on his body briefly to avoid leaving evidence of blood.
With everything in order, Joel carried William with the levitation charm and got out of the second-story cabin.
