Chapter 11: Aquith

"Ah, I forgot there was this." Azazler looked embarrassed. "Come with me to my room, I've got something for you."

"What?"

Azazel and I stood up and followed him into his room, and I was about to close the door, but Azazel told me not to close it.

"Wait for me a little bit."

From the workbox on the floor at the foot of the bed, Azazel pulled out a round miniature healer, which healed some skin wounds. He patted several wounds with the treatment machine, and there was a clicking sound like taking a picture with a camera, and the wounds scabbed. Then he pulled out a plain black towel from the work box, which had no pattern on it.

"This is woven from the fur of a very rare beast on the Blazing God Throne, I heard that it can bring good luck, so I will give it to you."

"Ah, you might as well keep such a valuable thing for yourself."

"You don't have to see each other like that, in this universe, we are also family, although we were not familiar with each other before. Think of it as a greeting gift. ā€

"But I didn't bring a gift." I still want this thing, but the main thing is that I came empty-handed this time, and if I don't give him a return gift, it is not in line with earth etiquette.

"It's okay, return gifts don't prevail on my home planet."

When he said that, I took it and said, "Put it on and have a look." He stroked his goatee, I put the scarf around my neck, and he took out a bottle of wine from the workbox and put it on the bed. ā€

He stretched out his hands, and then two clusters of light appeared in the palms of his hands, and soon the clusters of light faded into the shape of two cups, and I saw sweat on his forehead.

"I—" I almost blurted out fucking me, but thinking that I was different from other races, maybe he would hear something else, so he quickly held back, "The spirit is manifested!" ā€

"I really don't want to do this, with my ability, I can only barely make such a big thing, and it's still wooden."

Azazel exhaled, as if he was tired, and then put the two wooden cups on the bed, on which he sat himself.

"Actually, you can find someone to get the cup again..."

"It's okay, I can't use it to solve the case anyway, I'll just take a break."

Azazel opened the wine, poured some into the two glasses, handed me one, and took one himself.

Because of the different races, I didn't bother with the wine and didn't pour it full.

"Come on." Azazel raised his glass and drank it down. I drank the wine too.

"Ah Yuan, what are you doing as a detective for?"

"I want to tell the truth for those who died!"

I said it in a strict manner, and deliberately straightened my waist. Of course, I couldn't tell him that I was just curious for fun.

"But weren't you a soldier before?"

"I can't stop it from happening... You're nasty, there are too many rules and regulations in the army, it's not that I can do what I want, I have to obey orders. ā€

"Have you ever gone to look for your compatriots who have been sold?" Azazler's expression was serious.

"During my time in the service, I didn't have time to look for it, but whenever I went to a planet, I would keep an eye on it. I also asked my comrades-in-arms and superiors to help me find them. ā€

"Didn't the Federation save them?"

"Some of them can find the coordinates of the trade on the marauders' ships, some of them are confessed by the marauders, and a few of them have no idea where they went."

Two lines of tears welled up in Azazel's eyes when he heard this, "What a miserable life they are living now! ā€

In fact, I didn't look for it at all, I just joined the army to go to the battlefield and be killed faster, how could I have the leisure to think about how my compatriots were doing.

"You don't have to be too sad," I reassured him, "now that we're detectives, we have more freedom in our time, and we have been commissioned to go to more planets, so we can always meet them." ā€

Unexpectedly, he cried even more, "But now that my rescued compatriots have been killed, I can't even protect them, and I can't find the damn murderer!" ā€

I was about to open my mouth to discuss the case with him when I heard a few knocks on the door, and when I turned my head, I saw a purple-skinned soldier standing outside the door.

"Two gentlemen, please come to the front hall for dinner."

I patted Azazel on the shoulder, "Don't think about it yet, let's go eat first." Then he turned to the soldier and said, "Got it, we'll go right over."

Unexpectedly, the soldier suddenly took out the pistol on his waist and pointed it at me, shouting, "Don't move!" If I move again, I'll shoot! ā€

I was shocked and quickly raised my hand.

"What are you doing!?"

The soldier still shouted, "Don't move! I told you not to move! Put him down! ā€

I wondered, and then I looked back at Azazel, and saw a dagger against his neck, but I didn't see anyone beside him at all, and the dagger hung there, as if it were being manipulated. Azazel's eyes widened, tears still flowing, and blood was already flowing from his neck.

Then I heard a creak, and Azazel's head was cut off, and a column of blood erupted from his neck, and because I was so close to him, the blood spurted all over my body, and he shook for a moment and fell to the bed.

I fell to the ground in fright, just as Azazel's head rolled to my hand, and I saw tears still flowing from his wide eyes.

"Bang bang bang!"

Three gunshots rang out in succession, two on the bed and one on the wall, and the soldier burst into the room, pointing a gun in one hand and grabbing me with the other, dragging me out of the room.

"Request for support! Request support! A detective was killed in the room! I can't see the murderer! Repeat! Request support! ā€

I was dragged down in the hallway and heard the door open and sparse footsteps.

"What's wrong?"

"What's going on?"

"Don't walk out the door! Don't come here! ā€

I still can't believe that Azazel was killed like that, and I didn't even see the murderer in front of me. I looked down at my blood-stained clothes and reached out to touch my cheek, and I saw that my hands were covered in blood, and the smell of blood came to my nose. I touched my scarf, it was slimy.

"Ah Yuan!"

I heard a woman's voice, then footsteps, and I looked up to see Sigma walking towards me wrapped in a bath towel, her hair still wet.

"Aquis! Where's Aquis!? ā€

I yelled at her.

Damn, he's the only one here who can be invisible, it has to be him! It had to be him!
