Chapter 11 The House of Responsiveness
Years later, according to an unnamed headmaster in the Headmaster's room at Hogwarts, that night a young wizard and a bad old man said something they didn't know, only that the evil laughter had made them tremble and not sleep wellβeven if they were just portraits......
After a pleasant exchange with Dumbledore, Weston stood up satisfied, ready to go to rest.
"Mr. Delacour, a word of caution, pay close attention to the entire eighth floor, maybe, there is a surprise!" Dumbledore said mysteriously, and winked mischievously.
Phew, the old man who sells cuteness doesn't repair it! Weston complained fiercely in his heart, but on the surface he responded with a smile: "Okay, Professor! β
Out of the door of the principal's office, Weston secretly thought as he walked: "The old bee is really, such an old person, not to mention the cuteness, but also likes to sell guanzi!" The eighth floor is such a big place, I have already walked all over it, what can be different, and surprise? β
Despite this, Weston looked carefully at the entire eighth floor.
The eighth floor of Hogwarts is the highest floor in the entire castle, and although it is not small, it is mostly rooftop. The entire eighth floor, including the Principal's Office, is nothing more than four rooms - the Gryffindor Dean's Office, the Ravenclaw Dean's Office, the Hufflepuff Dean's Office, and the Principal's Office.
Weston also knew that except for Professor McGonagall working on the eighth floor, the entire eighth floor was where Dumbledore was.
Flitwick was usually in the Ravenclaw Tower, where there was also an office of his; Sprout is mostly in the greenhouse, where her sweetheart grows and where her office works.
In other words, there is nothing to see on the eighth floor itself, so it can't be a rooftop! Or are these portraits?
Thinking of this, Weston made himself laugh.
Wait, portraits?
Weston felt as if he was missing something, and quickly took a closer look again.
After looking back and forth three times, a smile appeared on the corner of Weston's mouth, and a hint of understanding appeared in his eyes. Turns out, Dumbledore was talking about this!
He didn't go any further, but walked straight towards a portrait. It's not so much a portrait as a tapestry with a troll beating the fool Barnabas.
Recalling the original book and Hogwarts: A Secret History, Weston closed his eyes, focused, and repeated in his mind:
"I need a place to rest",
"I need a place to rest"......
After walking back and forth three times, a golden door suddenly appeared on the wall opposite the tapestry, and the doorknob was in an antique bronze pattern.
Sure enough, this is the "Room of Responsiveness"!
The Room of Requirement, also known as the "House of Arrivals", "Universal Room", etc., is one of the most magical places in Hogwarts. According to Hogwarts: A Secret History, it was built here by Ravenclaw.
When Hogwarts was first founded, the war between wizards and the Holy See was far from over, and the four giants teamed up to renovate and hide a room for the sake of the students, at the suggestion of Ravenclaw, in order to give the children a place to hide. Hence the name of this room β Security.
After the war, Ravenclaw took matters into his own hands and remodeled the room again in order to better help the students, so it was renamed the Room of Need, which means to help those who are really in need.
This old bee also played a mystery! Weston silently sputtered, then excitedly walked towards the opposite room.
Although he complained, Weston was still very grateful to Dumbledore, if it weren't for him, he might have forgotten about the Room of Requirement.
Pushing open the door, a gorgeous room appeared in front of Weston's eyes.
Spacious hall, white tiles, dark red floors, golden magic lamps......
What a responsive house! Weston sighed. He was so happy with the place that he made a decision - he was going to move here!
The house-elves have been looking forward to Weston's orders, and they said that Weston was going to move, and they almost fought for it, and Weston was embarrassed to see it, and called two elves at random, and quickly escaped from the kitchen!
For the next two days, Weston did nothing, and kept getting acquainted with the Room of Requirement. In his opinion, it is not necessary to go out to achieve the effect of transformation, otherwise, how the teachers and students who avoided at the beginning came over, how to rest, eat, etc., this must be used indoors.
Sure enough, after a few experiments, he discovered the real use of the room in the responsive room, that is, communication.
That's right, communication! Strictly speaking, the Room of Requirement is "alive", not alive, but similar to the Sorting Hat, it has a consciousness of its own, and it responds when the user's heart calls for it.
After discovering this, Weston was completely happy!
In the morning, you can conjure up a spell training room, in the afternoon, you can conjure up a Transfiguration training room, and occasionally come to a potions lab to change your mood......
So, the whole Hogwarts students were talking about where the "guest" who appeared a month ago was gone, and why was he missing at Hogwarts?
As soon as Snape heard about it, he remembered what he had forgotten and rushed to the headmaster's office.
"Headmaster Dumbledore, do you know where my disciple has gone?" Upon entering the headmaster's office, Snape asked eagerly.
"What's wrong, Severus?" Dumbledore was surprised.
What's wrong? What's wrong, you ask? Snape's face darkened, and he squeezed a phrase out of his teeth: "That little troll hasn't been seen in a month, Mr. Headmaster!" β
"Aha, is that so?" Dumbledore patted his head, "It seems that our Mr. Delacour has been immersed in a magical world!" β
"Dun-Bu-Li-Do-" Snape grimaced, squeezing word by word from between his teeth.
"Ah, don't be in a hurry, Severus!" Dumbledore stood up with a smile and walked out, saying over and over again, "I'll take you there, I happen to be curious, what is that little guy doing?" β
Damn old bees! Snape roared inwardly, but he honestly followed Dumbledore.
At this time, Weston was writing hard in the room.
"The relationship between the medicinal properties of mandrakes and the Animagus -
"Mandrakes have long been used in magic potions such as aphrodisiacs, living hell decoctions, and according to the book "A Thousand Kinds of Herbs and Mushrooms", mandrakes have a great toxicity ......."
"According to the book "A Thousand Accidents of Wizards in Potions", the sorcerer who died due to the cry of the mandrake had no magic left in his body......"
"Before the discovery of the mandrake more than a thousand years ago, there were very few wizards in the Animagus, and the successful transformation was all magical creatures, and the successful transformation of the modern wizard Animagus was an ordinary animal......"
"Therefore, it can be guessed that the effect of the mandrake on Animagus is to suppress the transformation of magic through toxins, and the effect of the thunder and lightning that led to the formation of the Animagus Transformation Elixir is to suppress the beast nature!"
"If the conjecture is true, with enough magic power, and deformed in a thunderstorm, there is a certain chance that Animagus will become a real magical creature!"
"Whew-" Weston let out a sigh of relief, glancing at his parchment again, muttering to himself, "If that's the case, I'll be saved......"
"It seems that our Mr. Delacour has made some remarkable discovery! I guess you wouldn't mind sharing it! β
"Who?!" Weston was so frightened that his back was instantly wet with cold sweat.
If there is an enemy, be sure not to turn back first, but roll diagonally forward as much as possible to dodge, so that the chances of survival will be greater!
Snape's teachings seemed to ring in his ears, and Weston rolled sharply to the left front, drawing his wand, which was aimed at the place where the sound had come from, and looked over at the same time.
"Uh...... Sorry, Professor Dumbledore, and- teacher......"
