Chapter Twenty-Six: Arrival in Egypt
After a few days at Nicol's house, Weston sent Fleur home and set off again.
What had been promised to Minister Abdullah had not yet been done, but this time it happened to be done together.
"Don't you really need me to come with you? Child? Mr. Delacour asked with some concern when he heard that Weston wanted to go to Egypt.
"No, uncle, I'll do it myself!" Weston shook his head and smiled, "Don't worry, there won't be any danger!" β
"Maybe! If anything, be careful! Mr. Delacour said worriedly.
In fact, he had probably guessed Weston's purpose. However, he trusted Weston's own judgment and strength, so he didn't intend to interfere too much.
"I will, uncle!" Weston nodded.
I saw him take out a strange looking gold coin from his pocket.
The coin does not have a human head or anything like that, but a large relief of the sun on the obverse and a scale on the reverse.
"Mentosβ" Weston tapped his finger and pronounced the incantation.
A blue light suddenly flashed on the gold coin, and Weston disappeared in place.
Looking at where Weston had disappeared, Mr. Delacour said nothing, only sighed deeply.
ββββββ
Weston only felt as if a hook had pulled him up on his navel and dragged him directly into a soft rubber tube, similar to the experience of apparition, but not quite the same.
After a few moments, Weston felt as if his feet were on the ground, and a round of applause reached his ears - "Welcome, welcome to the Egyptian Ministry of Magic!" We've been looking forward to you for a long time, Mr. Delacour! β
Weston opened his eyes to see Abdullah leading several Egyptian Ministry of Magic officials in wizard robes watching him.
"Good day, Mr. Minister!" Weston smiled and bowed calmly.
"Good day, genius boy!" Minister Abdullah laughed and said, "Although we haven't seen each other for more than half a year, your name has been passed back and forth in my ears!" β
"Come on, come on, I'll introduce you!" Minister Abdullah led Weston to his side and began to introduce the officials who had come with him.
Weston nodded at each name he heard, and actually remembered nothing at all, except for ......
"This is the director of the Cairo Library, Mr. Dino." Abdullah introduced the last official.
"Nice to meet you! Mr. Curator! Weston glanced at the curator with some surprise, and if he was not mistaken, the curator appeared to be a ...... Squib?
"Hello, genius boy! Your name is like thunder to me! Curator Dino smiled and shook his hand.
"It's just everyone's love, I'm not a genius!" Weston smiled.
"No, son, no one has achieved so much at your age! Even the legendary ancestor of magic, Merlin, is a lot worse than you! Don't be modest! Curator Dino said.
With that said, Weston shrugged his shoulders and didn't say anything more.
After a few conversations, everyone went about their business, and only Minister Abdullah was with Weston.
"Mr. Minister, forgive me for being rude, that Mr. Curator looks like a Squib?" Weston couldn't hold back the curiosity in his heart and asked cautiously.
"It's nothing, Mr. Delacour! However, your observation is truly amazing! Abdullah shook his head, then looked at Weston with burning eyes, "You're right, Mr. Dino really doesn't know magic. According to you, it's a squib! β
What a squib! Weston was a little surprised, when will Squib be able to get involved with the Ministry of Magic officials?! Has the world changed?
As if to see Weston's puzzlement, Abdullah began to explain to him: "My dear, Egypt is not the same as any other place! We've never hidden magic! β
"This is Cairo, the most prosperous place in all of Egypt! You can see wizards working their magic on the streets, and the people around them will not be surprised, only encouraged! β
"Of course, we still don't recommend that you show too much magic to ordinary people, but it's not a big deal! Egypt has never had a secrecy law or anything like that! β
"In that case, aren't you afraid that the entire Ministry of Magic will leak out?" Weston was puzzled. According to those famous sayings I heard in my previous life, there is such a sentence: No matter how few people are, there is no equality! Weston didn't believe that Muggles would be interested in such supernatural powers.
"Aha, dear, not in Egypt!" Abdullah smiled, "You must know that in Egypt in the past, sorcerers were made priests, and they had the power of life and death for ordinary people!" β
"Even though the times have changed now, the status of wizards is still very high, and every wizard is a nobleman! This is our heritage here! β
Weston doesn't quite understand, maybe he will have this understanding in the future. There are some things that you don't really pay attention to if you haven't experienced them.
After visiting the entire Egyptian Ministry of Magic, Weston asked for some information.
Minister Abdullah did not suspect him, and was very excited to send a man to deliver Weston to the Cairo library.
"Oh, genius boy, you're here!" Curator Dino smiled slightly, stepped out from behind his desk, motioned for Minister Abdullah's men to leave, and welcomed Weston in with a smile.
"Hello, Mr. Curator!" Weston smiled slightly, "You can call me Weston." β
"Okay, Weston! Tell me if you need anything! Curator Dino said with a smile.
Weston nodded, "I need to know about the magical history of Egypt in general, as well as some of the famous people in Egyptian history!" β
"If it's convenient, you can introduce it to me, and then I'll look at the information!"
"Absolutely!" Curator Dino smiled and nodded, "Minister Abdullah has already told me about your intentions. Rest assured, I'm totally fine! β
"But......" Curator Dino hesitated, "the whole of Egypt has a long history of magic!" Are you sure you have the patience to listen? β
"Of course, I don't have a problem!" Weston nodded repeatedly.
"Alright then!" Curator Dino's eyes flashed with a strange color, and then quickly disappeared, as if he had never appeared.
"How about we start with ancient rumors?"
"Of course there is no problem, I'll listen to you!"
"Okay, legend ......"
