Chapter 7: The Life of a Farmer

In the United States, there are about 2 million people working in agriculture.

These 2 million people can provide more than 85% of the country's daily agricultural and livestock products.

Corn, soybeans, wheat, milk, and beef all come from major farms and pastures.

Not only can they meet the vast majority of the federal market, but these agricultural and animal products are also exported to all parts of the world.

According to this logic, the American farmers imagined by outsiders must have lived a particularly prosperous life and were the wealthy class.

But the real situation, many of these farmers, are actually as hard as the rural life of the Celestial Empire.

Most of the farmers and their families work at five or six o'clock in the morning every day.

The labor force of the family is about to get up and start working.

Usually the older children need to help their parents feed the cows, sheep, chickens and ducks, the father has to check and refuel the tractor, and the mother is responsible for breakfast.

After breakfast, the children go to school, while the father drives the machinery to plow, sow seeds, spray, irrigate, and harvest in the fields, while the mother milks the cows non-stop.

If it's not the busy farming season, parents still have to go to work.

After school, the children continue to help their parents feed the poultry.

After dinner, my father sorted out and checked the cows, and my mother milked the cow for the second time.

This busy day sometimes runs into the night, and it goes on and on every day.

This is the daily life of the average American farmer.

Most of the land is less than 300 acres, and family-run farming families live this way.

It is not as easy and free as outsiders think, and it is highly mechanized and does not require manpower.

To put it simply, farmers who rely on the land for food are inseparable from the arduous export of labor.

However, in comparison, there is a relatively complete agricultural machinery system, as well as a very developed fertilizer and irrigation system, and the production efficiency of American farmers is very high.

But no matter how high it is, it doesn't work.

Because a peasant in the Celestial Empire, without machinery, generally takes care of four to five acres of land.

And the United States, because there are all kinds of agricultural machinery, there is also a perfect system.

An American farmer takes care of about fifty acres of land.

Of course, in terms of income, it is naturally the United States that hangs the peasants of the Celestial Empire.

After all, there is no way to compare the area of land occupied per capita.

However, none of the above has anything to do with Abel.

Although he was a Texan, he came from a family of farmers.

But his family's farm, a few generations ago, was out of the family's business.

More than fifty years ago, Smith Farms registered the company.

The company has been in operation for more than 50 years, so Smith Farms is actually land under the management of "Smith Agriculture".

To put it simply, his family is already a big farmer.

It is not as good as those giants who cover tens of thousands of acres of land, but it is much better than the life of 99 percent of American farmers.

This can be seen from the fact that Smith Farm is able to employ more than fifty farmers.

Of course, the scale is large, and the corporatization is corporatization.

Some farm work, when Abel was young, was also to be done.

And his parents are also two good hands in farm work.

Ms. Emily Smith is even a multi-time champion of the Tarrant County Shaving Competition

It's just that it's not as hard as an ordinary farmer's family.

So when Abel returned, his father, Alexander Smith.

In the farm kennel, he and a few migrant workers are building a new kennel.

Smith Farm has over 180 dogs.

There are so many dogs, most of them are shepherd dogs.

Under normal circumstances,

A bred shepherd dog or cattle dog.

You can take care of about 30-40 sheep, or about 20 cows.

With cowboys, about 100 adult shepherd dogs can already take care of 3,000-4,000 cattle and sheep.

Smith Farm has more than 180 dogs, most of which are large dogs, except for a few small dogs.

That's because the kennel at Smith Farms is sold to the outside world in addition to personal use.

It also participates in various dog races in Texas every year.

Occasionally, you can win a prize.

Throughout Tarrant County, the Smith kennel is famous.

Nearby farms are willing to come here to buy dogs.

Dog culture is very prevalent in Texas, and almost every household has a dog.

Here, the dog is a tool most of the time.

There are so many farmers and farmers in Texas that they need them to herd their cattle and take care of their homes.

But....

Texas has a dog meat festival!

Texans love both live and mature dogs.

Secondly, out of the 50 states of the United States, 44 states are legal to eat dog meat.

There are 13 states that have dog meat festivals.

The most famous of these are Kansas and Texas.

"Nail the board, hey, what about you, David. The screws you hit are loose! ”

"You can't do that. Such a kennel will freeze my little ones to death in winter! ”

"And you, Johnson. You put the board upside down. The white side is on the outside, and the black side is on the inside! Like us, they like to sleep in the dark! Idiot! ”

"Here, take this board. Use it to cover the roof. ”

"Fool, hurry up, tighten up here."

“.....”

kennel,

On one side, he is in charge of supervising the work,

On the other hand, I will also hand over a tool,

Or Alexander Smith handing a board.

He laughed and cursed at the workers and farmers who built the kennels.

Most of the time, the attitude is bad and harsh.

No, it won't work,

If there is no one to supervise, or if the overseer is softer.

These bastards really dare to mess around with you.

On the farm, Alexander has always been this image.

Be generous when you're generous, be stingy when you're stingy.

When I worked, I was very strict.

Even if you are not satisfied, you will start beating the image of the farmer.

Whoever calls these Texas farmers, generally with the highest academic qualifications, has only completed public high school.

Many don't even go to a public high school.

Most of them have barely left Texas in their lives, and many have never even been to Dallas, Houston, Austin, and other major Texas cities.

In the face of such low-level white people,

You are polite and polite, you are simply playing the harp to the cow.

Only such a simple and rude, even a little ruthless, can make them obedient and work for you.

That's why MAGA King's Twitter has always been very straightforward.

If the words are a little more complicated, the audience of MAGA King will not understand it at all!!

Alexander kicked at a somewhat lazy worker, who did not dare to resist, and he was about to open his mouth to curse.

A teasing voice sounded behind the farmer.

"Hey. Alexander, so fierce. Beware of George going to the county to sue you for personal injury. ”

When Alexander heard this, he was furious, and without looking back, he cried out:

"Hey, you let him go. Look at Haaland, dare you summon me to the court! ”

Haaland is the Chief Judge of the Tarrant County Court.

The migrant worker named George who was kicked was not angry, but responded with a smile:

"I don't. Judge Haaland will have caught me first. ”

"It's good to know. Hmph, then you don't hurry up! Alexander finished his harsh words before turning back.

Then he smiled and looked at the person who said this.

Two people stood behind them.

One is his beloved wife, Emily Smith.

The other is his awesome guy.

Alexander shouted happily to his awesome boy.

"Boy, are you back?"
