A small fishing village by the sea in southern Fujian, where Hokkien is spoken.
At about eight o'clock in the morning, the bus from the county town stopped at the entrance of the small fishing village, and a young scholar with a backpack got out of it; As he walked, he inquired about people and came to a Buddhist monastery in a small fishing village.
Although the temple is small, it has been built for a long time, and after repairs in recent years, the building is more eye-catching, and the abbot of the temple often helps the villagers to do things, so the temple is naturally famous in the small fishing village and surrounding villages.
As soon as the young scholar entered the temple gate, he politely asked the handyman who was doing the repair at the door how he could meet Master Tongyun.
Master Tongyun is the abbot of this monastery; Hearing that a guest came to the door, Tongyun had already welcomed out of the house. He was small and thin, and although he was in his eighties, he was still agile and had a loud voice.
The guests were greeted by the religious department of the county, and Tongyun politely let the visiting guests into the living room of his house, and then called for the empty edge to come over and make tea.
On this empty edge, there is an inch of hair that grows out after shaving his head, and he is about twenty years old, wearing a suit; After carrying the boiling kettle into the house, he didn't say a word, just lowered his eyes and silently washed the cup and made tea for the two of them.
After the young man who looked like a monk stepped back, Tongyun closed the door.
It may be that the master's action of closing the door aroused Kongyuan's curiosity, and when he returned to the kitchen, Kongyuan sat in a daze for a while, then boiled a pot of water again, and then crept to the door of the house with a boiling kettle.
Just as I heard the voice of the young scholar in the room: "...... So, before your master took you to Yongzuo Temple, didn't he say what the Buddha treasure he was looking for was? Listening to the tone, it was obvious that he was asking Master Tongyun for advice about something that happened a long time ago.
"Before he went to Yongzuo Temple, he just said that he was going to look for the Buddha treasure, and after he arrived at Yongzuo Temple, I heard him ask the temple keeper sharply, 'Where are the Buddha relics hidden?' I realized that he was looking for a Buddha relic. This is Tongyun's voice, full of confidence.
"Buddha relics! That's the supreme Buddha treasure! Did your master later say how he knew there was a ......?" the young scholar's voice looked excited.
When the young monk outside the door heard this, he stopped walking and stood by the door, wanting to continue listening to the conversation in the room.
At this time, I only heard Tongyun shouting: "Empty edge, refill the tea for the guests!" ”
The empty edge outside the door knew that this was Tongyun in the house, and he had noticed the movement outside the door, so he quickly responded and opened the bamboo curtain and entered the door.
Two days later, late at night, the pond outside the temple was filled with the sound of frogs.
In the darkness, a man carrying a heavy object like a cloth bag and carrying an oil lamp walked to the statue of Wei Dao Bodhisattva in the temple, pushed open the prayer mat with his foot, kicked open a door at the bottom, illuminated the hole below with an oil lamp, and then slowly walked down.
The man went down to the bottom of the cave, straightened the weight on his shoulders upward, and then followed the long tunnel to a large cave.
The man put down the oil lamp, put the weight on his shoulders into a large vat in the cave, and took the oil lamp and looked at it. What appeared before the faint light was a cloud with his eyes closed and his face turned blue; The man held the oil lamp up to the old monk's wrinkled face, and opened his eyelids with his hand to make sure that his pupils were dilated before putting down the lamp. This person lifted a large vat next to him, buckled it upside down on top of the old monk's sitting tank, untied a bag behind him, took out the mud from the bag one by one to seal the slit of the buckle cylinder, and finally carefully wiped off the fingerprints around the cylinder.
When he was done, the man bowed to the large clasped vat, tied up the mud bag, and carried the oil lamp, and walked slowly out of the cave.
Coming to the stairs at the entrance of the cave, the man spat on the ground and climbed the stairs step by step.
Outside the entrance to the cave, the night sky is dotted with stars.
