Chapter 80: Elven Ruins
A tall thin man in leather armor walked in, looked at the middle-aged man on crutches surrounded by everyone, and said disdainfully:
"Did you really kill an orc? How did I hear that someone survived by pretending to be dead, and even a broken leg was refused to pay for treatment by the quartermaster because he fell and broke himself, why, there was no money to go to the temple for treatment? Want to come here to scam money? β
The tall and thin man wanted to say something, but when he saw old Neil beckoning to him, he gave up and walked to the bar.
And the middle-aged man on crutches heard that his "great achievements" had been exposed, and he was immediately a little annoyed and angry, but he was scrupled that it was in the old Neil Hotel.
I could only laugh, when the tall and thin man had never appeared, he continued to talk, or at least his eloquence was not bad, and none of the young men around him left.
At the bar, old Neil whispered to the tall and thin man, "What's the news?" β
"The man is back, and he may be going out tomorrow."
"Is the message accurate?"
"It should be true, it will take some time for the heavy snowfall to arrive, this should be the last chance, our lord will not let his apprentice fight in the snow." The tall and thin man pointed out.
Old Neil was silent for a moment and asked, "Are you willing to make a move?" β
The tall and thin man smiled, "I would like to, but there are two teams of soldiers around that person at all times, and there is also a high-ranking wanderer, I don't dare." β
"High-level loitering?" Old Neil remembered that the last time he said that he had sent Gen Kenny to attack and kill Xia Duo, only to be told that he had lost a servant, and that the excuse he had made for Master Kenny wanting the Friendship Necklace seemed to be probably true.
It's just that it was dealt with by the high-level wanderers on Xia Duo's side.
"It is indeed a high-level wanderer, although their own strength is limited, but the wanderer never wins by strength, I advise you not to hit the attention of others, with that high-level wanderer, you can't have a chance."
The tall and thin man looked very unoptimistic, which annoyed old Neil, but he didn't show it, but followed the words of the tall and thin man.
"That's what I asked, I'm a law-abiding leader, how could I do anything to hurt the lord's apprentice!"
The tall and thin man gave old Neil a deep look, but said nothing, took the honorarium and left.
After the tall and thin man left, the old Neil behind the bar fell silent, if he could, he would rather go back in time to before he met Xia Duo, then there would not be so many troubles now.
Even, nothing will happen in the future, including the encounter with the dangerous foreign mage upstairs.
The expression on Old Neil's face changed uncertainly, and he finally made up his mind and went to the second floor again.
"Master Kenny, old Neil wants to make a deal with your lord."
"What deal?" Kenny said coldly, unhappy with Old Neil's interruption again, "If it doesn't satisfy me, you should know-"
"My lord, I promise your lord will be happy with this deal."
"Say!"
"Yes, sir."
It's done! Old Neil's eyes lit up, "I want to ask your Excellency to kill that apprentice himself." β
Old Neil accentuated his tone on the word "personally", but Kenny was not dissatisfied, but asked with interest, "What about the price?" β
He wanted to know what hole cards Old Neil had that would be able to appeal to him, a level 7 mage.
"Do you know about the elven ruins?"
"Elven Ruins?!" Kenny didn't notice that his voice was shaking, "What do you know?" Don't be a well-known message! β
Old Neil said with some smugness, "I know a team of elven adventurers who come to Savi every winter in search of something!" β
"Oh?" Kenny finally regained his composure, and instantly entered the spell casting state, silently casting a hint spell, and said quietly, "Look at me, talk about that group of elven adventurers." β
Old Neil subconsciously raised his head, just in time to meet Kenny's eyes that shimmered with a strange light, and what he was going to say after the transaction was completed, he unconsciously said-
"That group of elven adventurers was very generous and mysterious, I followed them and found that they seemed to be looking for something, and I couldn't think of anything else except the elven ruins."
When Kenny heard this, if he hadn't already used his suggestion, he would have thought that old Neil was lying, how could it be that an ordinary person was following a team of elves!
"How do you track them?" Kenny asked.
"I went to the forest as soon as they left, looking for green plants."
"Why?"
"I've heard that the elves eat fruit that grows freshly."
ββ¦β¦β
Kenny didn't expect that an ordinary person would track the traces of elves because of a legend that he didn't know whether it was true or false, as a mage, he knew more than old Neil, and the elves who could eat the fruits were not ordinary elves!
This also led him to believe in the existence of the so-called "Elven Ruins".
In the past, the elven kingdom was all over the major forests of Faerun, and it was normal for there to be elven ruins in the forests near the Savile Territory, and any elven ruins, even if they were "cleaned" by the elves, were still worth a lot of money to humans.
And if you can get ahead of the elves, thenβ
Kenny doesn't dare to think any further, fearing that he won't be able to control his desires and compete with the elves.
"Did the elves find the ruins?"
"Nope."
Kenny was both surprised and a little worried to know that the elves hadn't found the ruins, and for some reason, he even asked, "Do you know where the ruins are?" β
"Yes."
What! Kenny almost jumped up from his chair, and the ruins that the elves hadn't discovered were discovered by an ordinary human!
"My friend, tell me, where are the elven ruins?" Kenny asked impatiently.
In order to prevent arousing Old Neil's subconscious resistance, he also deliberately lowered his tone and aggravated the hint of spells, and at this time he was an old friend who had been friends for decades in Old Neil's heart.
"Elven ruins, elven ruins, inβ"
The rest of the words remained unspoken, and old Neil's expression began to distort until he let out a groan of pain, and did not utter a word again.
Kenny's face didn't look good, and he wanted to tell Old Neil when he woke up that you didn't know much about mages, but now it seems that he knows too little about ordinary people.
Is an ordinary person who can think of tracking down elves and discovering secrets before them do?
Kenny could even guess that Neil Sr. should have determined the location of the elven ruins years ago, but he kept not selling the secret to the elves.
If it were Kenny, he didn't think he could do that.
Thinking about this, Kenny disarmed the suggestion, and Old Neil collapsed to the ground, breathing heavily, and he struggled to raise his head and look at Kenny, "My lord, can the trade continue?" β
"Yes!"
Old Neil listened and fainted directly.
Looking at the unconscious old Neil, Kenny always felt that something was wrong, but he couldn't say it, and after thinking about it carefully, he didn't find any loopholes.
It can only be attributed to his own gains and losses of the elven ruins.
