Chapter 12: The Wolf

Before dark, the baron arrived at the first campsite, the village of Robert.

The village chief was very cramped by the visit of the noble knights, and he hurriedly vacated his house and arranged for the most beautiful village girl to serve the high lord. And the Baron impatiently blasted away all those who tried to slap him away, like a swarm of flies.

Nothing was said all night.

Tossing the village chief a gold coin, Rildra, who could not understand the rural dialect he spoke in his excitement, prepared to embark on a journey again. The village of Roble is a typical medieval village, harmonious, calm but absolutely dirty.

This is the Middle Ages. As he approached his horse, he was surprised to see a young girl sitting on his horse and dangling her legs leisurely.

She is a beautiful girl, with long brown silky hair, wearing a purple dress, simple but extraordinary temperament, with those big amber eyes, giving people a pleasing feeling.

Seeing the owner of the war horse coming, the girl smiled happily, and her voice was very crisp: "Lord Knight, if you are traveling, can you take me with you?"

She smiled beautifully, her big eyes were bent into two curved crescents, and the two pointed tiger teeth were a little more naughty.

The baron shook his head: "Come down, girl, I'm going to the Holy City to participate in the Holy War, which is not suitable for a girl like you." ”

The village chief rushed over at this time, he bent down in panic, and apologized to the lord in front of him.

Helo, is the girl's name. Abandoned since childhood, she grew up under the care of the village chief. Her parents only left a note under the swaddling clothes with her name on it and a drawing of a white wolf.

This reminded the baron of a story, and he changed his mind: "If you don't mind, I'll take you with me to the Holy City." ”

Harrow bounced to pack her belongings, and the village chief looked at her sadly.

The baron gave him ten gold coins, but the chief pushed them back.

"Please protect him, my lord. ”

He said he didn't want the gold coins.

As the village chief watched the girl and the knight leave the village, all the villagers fell to their knees silently, chanting Helo's name in their hearts.

The unsuspecting knight was secretly glancing at the girl's hair, hoping to see the ears of the strange creature from above, and when he met the girl's smiling eyes, he blushed and turned his head to pretend to look at the scenery beside the roadside.

"Knight, what's your name?" heard a girl's voice.

"Owen Lillera. My miss. The baron replied.

"I'm not 'my miss'. Owen Knight, are you my knight?" asked Herlo suddenly.

The baron did not understand the meaning of the question, but he replied casually: "Of course, ma'am, I am your knight. ”

"You're the first knight I've ever met. The girl said nothing after saying this.

The baron, who couldn't guess the girl's thoughts, also quieted down, and the two men rode side by side, and marched east together.

At noon, they came to a town.

There was something strange about the girl, and her superb horsemanship made the baron have to mumble for a long time. But the person has already taken it, so you can't turn around and send it back, looking at the lively girl, Lildra smiled wryly and shook her head.

It's a fairly prosperous town, and it's something to call it, but the knights don't care about that.

There were not many soldiers in the crowd coming and going, many workers were reinforcing the town's fortifications, and it seemed that the local lords were also preparing for war.

Handing the horses to the waiters, Lildra and Harrow entered the tavern,

Helo's beauty made many people want to move, but the knight beside the girl made the outlaws with evil intentions retract their hands.

That's a noble lord, a noble lord who can't be messed with.

The decoration of the tavern is average, and a glance at the dirt on the bar makes the baron lose his appetite. He just ordered a random order of bread and put down the menu.

Harrow didn't order much, either, and she looked out of the window, looking like a beautiful landscape from the baron's point of view.

He remembered a poem from later generations, you stand on the bridge and look at the scenery, and the people in the scenery look at you from upstairs. The bright moon decorates your windows, and you decorate other people's dreams.

However, this caused a problem. Several drunken knights walked past the tavern, and they saw Helo, several of them pointing loudly, their dialect accents made Lildra a little inaudible, but Helo's face turned terrible.

She slammed the window shut.

The baron looked at her.

Soon, the door to the tavern was savagely pushed open, and the knights staggered in, and after some searching, found Helo's seat. They swaggered over and bumped into several tables and stools, and the affected guests dared not speak out, and hurriedly stood up and hid behind.

A few of the more timid ones settled the bill, and all eyes in the tavern were focused on the knights.

The knight at the head spoke. He looked no more than thirty, had a fairly handsome face, and since he was in the town, he wore no armor, and wore a gorgeous silk robe, which only the knight's sword at his waist could prove his identity.

"Make a price, one hundred gold coins, I want it!"

Between his words, there was a strong smell of wine, which made Harrow sniffle beautifully. Several of his companions behind him burst out laughing.

One hundred gold coins is indeed not a small amount.

Harrow moved the stool to the baron's side and looked at him pitifully.

Lildra sighed inwardly and shook her head at the rich knight.

The knight in silk seemed a little stunned, he never thought that anyone would refuse such a large sum of money.

"So, a hundred and twenty gold coins?" he rubbed his hands together like a merchant.

"I'm sorry, knight, I don't think I'll accept any offer to betray my fellow. ”

The other man's face began to look ugly, he looked at the knight's armor and sword, a trace of greed flashed, and in his place was apologetic: "I took the liberty of it, Your Excellency." ”

He bent down to apologize and slowly led his men back.

The baron's eyes grew cold, for not long after the knight had left, there were two new faces in the tavern, and they were looking at it very uncomfortably.

Lildra had always trusted her instincts.

Helo sat back unconsciously, and she even picked up a piece of bread and handed it to the knight.

"You're my knight~"

The girl repeated.

"Yes, I'm about to slay the dragon that stands in my way for my princess. The baron replied, half-jokingly, half-earnestly.

They quickly finished their lunch, took out their horses, and got back on the road.

Everything was normal, except for the tails that were tied behind him.

It's really a disaster.
