Chapter 49: The Ghoul (Part I)
Nearly four meters tall, his whole body is covered with hideous suture scars. It's like a twisted remnant made of different kinds of creatures. An undead creature created by occult black magic, the most faithful undead servant of many dark mages who were keen to explore the mysteries of life and death in the era when occultism was prevalent. However, after the rise of witchcraft, the entire occult was abandoned by the mainstream society, and this magic, which was a niche even under the occult system, disappeared from the field of vision of mankind early.
Balin had known for a long time the madness of these occult monks, but he had never imagined that they would be crazy enough to create such a disgusting test subject. On the contrary, it is more common for several ghouls to be besieged around the stitching monsters, after all, ghouls are essentially some saprophytes living in the hell world after they evolved into the wizarding world.
This is what Bahrain sees through the cracks of the jungle bushes after being pulled back into the real world by the roar. The immensely powerful, rotten, stench of Stitch Monster struggles with its large and small arms to fight the ghouls. Beastly roars erupted from the hideous blood cavern of what appeared to be a cavity.
It's a deformed monster that's completely controlled by negative emotions, and there's even a lot of debate in mainstream academia about whether or not a stitch monster can be classified as a biological one. The negativity of humanity entangled around the broken soul of the Stitching Monster, making it extremely violent. In the face of ghouls hunting like wolves, the stitching monster has no scruples about its own ** damage, and attacks frantically driven by violent negative emotions.
Through the bushes, Balin could clearly see the remains of three broken ghouls lying at its deformed feet, and the remaining four ghouls were also covered in scars. A green liquid flowed from their wounds, and Bahrain felt a wave of unbearable nausea as he inhaled the smell.
"Roar!" a tyrannical roar erupted from the stitched bloodhole-like mouth, grabbing a gap and slamming a punch into a ghoul's back.
The furious force poured down, and the ghoul's back was broken on the spot. Even ghouls, known for their tenacity, could not bear the pain and thrashed on all fours. A scarlet tongue shot out of its mouthparts, piercing a rotting hole in the stitchtail's body.
A monster with a twisted and broken soul like the Stitch Monster didn't feel any pain at all, and with a quick grasp of the slightly smaller arm, the huge body twisted to the side, and the scarlet tongue like a long whip was torn off by the huge body force.
Ignoring the other three ghouls' attacks on his body, he stepped on his twisted and deformed legs, crushing the head of the ghoul who had broken his spine like a rotten watermelon.
Big hands scooped down and grabbed the ghoul's mangled corpse. Several tentacles protruded from the bloody cavernous mouth, disintegrating the ghoul's corpse with a thud, and dragging some of the limbs back into the mouth.
The coiled tentacles crushed the ghoul's limbs, writhing in their mouths like creatures chewing on food.
The natural fear of dangerous things from human genes spread in the hearts of the two peeping on the sidelines, and without any superfluous communication, the two quietly turned around in unison. Try to control your own movements, don't make any sounds that might attract the attention of the monsters, and slowly but surely return the way you came.
Step on your own footprints to avoid making extra unnecessary sounds. Bahrain watched the trampled herbs beneath his feet, carefully landing each step. He walked cautiously in front, and Rollo in the back was anxious but helpless. Rather than touching the bushes and making a sound to bypass him, it would have been safer to follow him silently, but some of the belliger's movements were not swift enough.
Bahrain stood in Rollo's way ahead, and the two retreated in the direction of each other. Judging by the constant roars behind him, it seemed that the battle was nearing its end.
The sound of the battle was intermittent, and the two of them were engrossed in keeping their movements hidden, and most of the outside world was so negligent that the two did not know when the battle had ended.
Whoa, whoa, whoa
The sound of a large creature touching the bushes suddenly came, and Bahrain, who was still engrossed in his feet, was pulled by Rollo. The wizard turned his head and looked at Rollo with a serious expression in the direction of a bush, and it was only then that Balin realized that a creature was approaching.
Wizards' natural habit of concentration makes it difficult for wizards to be like warriors, so wizards have never been a combat-ready group. If it weren't for the fact that they had too much power to squander at their disposal, I am afraid that this group would have become scholars rather than rulers.
Human conversation was heard amidst the rubbing of bushes. Due to the mutual interference of sound waves, the content of the conversation is somewhat blurred. But there is no doubt that it should be human.
Rollo glanced at Bahrain, who understood, and the little mana recovered in his right hand burned with sorcery brilliance, ready to attack at any time.
"Human?" Luo Luo asked loudly when he saw that Balin had prepared for witchcraft, and he himself raised his tomahawk to prepare for the attack.
The grinding sound suddenly stopped, and after a while, the other party replied: "Yes, human!"
The two sides confirmed the identities of the same kind, and the two relaxed a little, but still remained vigilant.
"We're coming, can you see our hands, we have no ill will!" came a man's voice on the other side, and at the same time, seven or eight hands could be vaguely seen holding tomahawks in one or both hands, raised high. In an unknown environment, being the first to express one's friendliness is the best choice under the law of the jungle.
"Be quiet, it's not safe here!" Luo Luo didn't want to talk so loudly, so as not to attract unknown monsters. It's a pity that when the footsteps came, it was impossible to hide. Even if you don't get attracted by yourself, you will be attracted by them. One can only hope that the monsters on both sides will lose.
"Roger!" replied, and soon a bearded and wallet-clad Viking warrior stepped out of the bushes.
Suddenly, he saw the scantery glow burning on Balin's right hand, and a golden wizard's heart swirled around his body.
"Woooo
The companions around him came out of the bushes one after another, and they all looked at Bahrain in shock.
Wizards, what a mysterious existence. For the Vikings, wizarding was just a terrifying term used by their mothers to scare them as children. No one would have imagined that in this test of courage, they would encounter a legendary wizard.
Rollo immediately blocked Bahrain with his body, on the one hand, to show his friendliness, and on the other hand, to threaten the wizard behind him. There are eight people on the other side, so you have to be on guard.
"Rollo, son of Locks!" Rollo introduced himself.
Bahrain also slowly lowered his guard: "Bahrain - Constantine!"
The Viking warrior who was the first to come out froze and suppressed the shock caused by seeing the real wizard for the first time in his heart: "Bjorn, son of Sean!"
Without waiting for the others behind him to introduce themselves one by one, Luo Luo stretched out his hand and pointed in the direction they had retreated: "There are two groups of monsters fighting over there. Listening to the sound should be over, the sound of you coming over may have caught the attention of the monsters, be careful!"
The eight Viking warriors who had joined the temporary were startled, and immediately raised their shields to form a shield wall and began to guard: "Lord Wizard, come into the shield wall!" Another Viking with black stripes painted on his face issued an invitation to Bahrain.
Rollo nodded, and Balin stepped out from behind his burly body and into the shield wall. Rollo also joined the formation, and without a shield, he took the opportunity to take a two-handed battle axe from Björn and plunged it into his waist.
"What should I do?" Bjorn asked, as he looked around on guard. As an adult, he could tell at a glance that Rollo was an experienced warrior, and even the mysterious wizard seemed to ask for his opinion.
"With you on board, I think we can go over and have a look. Always be on guard and it's easy to be hunted, so it's better to fight hard when the monster loses both!"
Björn and the others looked at each other, and finally nodded, "Okay!"
