Just when Yang Hao was seriously preparing for the IAAF Golden League Rome Station, the Chinese athletics world ushered in good news again.

At the IAAF Super Grand Prix Lausanne held on July 12, Liu Xiang won the championship with a time of 12.88 seconds and broke the men's 110m hurdles world record that had been dormant for 13 years.

The original record was 12.91 seconds, which Liu Xiang equalled at the Athens Olympics, and held it with England's Colin Jackson
