Chapter Forty-Nine: Landing at a High Altitude

Previous Chapter

Leia leaned close to Lucy's ear and whispered, "This class is going to be held next Monday." Take advantage of these two days to take a break, get ready, and try to get through. ”

"I'm not worried, didn't you promise to protect me?" Lucy smiled.

"Of course."

Lucy returns to her dorm room and tells a few of her roommates about her plan to participate in the "Task Competition" class. The other girls were amazed. Laura said that she had asked senior students about the course, and she had heard that it was very difficult and the pass rate was low. But since Lucy has chosen this class, she is willing to join as well. The twins, Lisa and Lena, said directly that they were going to go through the level with Lucy.

Seeing that her roommates were so supportive and helpful, Lucy was overjoyed. The girls were discussing how to pass the course until late into the night.

Time flickered, and it was time for the course "Task Competition" to start the assessment.

All participants in this course gather in a dedicated assessment room. Lucy saw that there were about 300 students who chose this course, including Leia and a few of her roommates.

She also saw two familiar faces – Li Jun and Kevin.

Lucy didn't know that Leia had told Joon and Kevin about their choice of class. Although Li Jun and Kevin have their own plans, both of them coincidentally choose to participate.

Of course, there was also a figure in the crowd that disgusted Lucy and the others—the arrogant male student they had met in the cafeteria earlier. He was still surrounded by a group of male students, and he still looked like he was no other.

Lucy was observing the crowd and inadvertently met Kevin. As soon as the eyes of the two made contact, she quickly turned around, lowered her head, and deliberately pretended to ignore Kevin.

Soon an examiner came to the crowd and beckoned everyone into the examination room. The interior of the assessment room is extremely spacious, and hundreds of training pods are neatly arranged inside. This is a device used by students to conduct course assessments in a simulated environment. Under the guidance of the examiner, everyone sat in the training cabin.

As the canopy closed, the cabin emitted a pale blue halo, accompanied by a subtle chirping.

Lucy and the others gradually lose all perception. When she regained consciousness again, her mind was dizzy, and she heard the whirring sound of the wind, and the hurricane was rushing towards her, making it difficult for her to breathe.

Lucy opened her eyes and found herself on a transport ship flying high in the air. The cabin door was open, and the cadets were all dressed in flight suits, waiting for the order to start the assessment mission competition.

"All the tasks in this assessment are released by the examiner through the student's personal smart terminal. Now for the first task, I would like to ask you to check it out. ”

When everyone heard the announcement of the start of the assessment, they turned on the smart terminals they were wearing. The light curtains that appeared in front of everyone showed the first task requirement: to carry out high-altitude maneuvering landing in a harsh environment, and to arrive at the designated place within three hours to assemble (with azimuth coordinates). Those who do not arrive on time will not be able to pass the assessment. The countdown to the mission begins, 10, 9...

… 3,2,1 As the countdown ended, the cadets lined up and began to jump out of the ship one by one through the hatch.

Lucy couldn't help but look forward, only to see the students in front of her constantly jumping into the wind one by one, nervous in her heart, and her legs trembled slightly. When the last student in line ahead of her jumped out of the hatch, her legs and feet did not obey the call and could not take a step forward. She was finally pushed forward by the people behind her and stood on the edge of the hatch.

"Jump!" Someone in the back of the line was urging.

Lucy didn't dare to look down, so she closed her eyes and mustered up the courage to take a leap. Her feet were just about to exert force, but someone behind her was already holding her waist, and her feet slammed into the air with her.
