Chapter 14: Day and Night
The first thing you feel is the light.
It was the light that made the gods of the night lose their mindsβthe warm light that heralded a new beginning at the rising of the red sun, the silver light reflected off the snowy fields under the clear and cloudless sky, and the white light that had endured the long night, contained in the glass lampshade, and quickly dissolved into the cool morning light, which intertwined harmoniously and shed the first blessings of the day on the sleepy-eyed snowfield, and the goddess of the night from head to toe like a veil of light, and the stars on the cascading hem of his dress.
The black dress rustled through the snow like the water of a dark river, and the goddess of the night walked the silver path to a red-brick house with an old-fashioned chimney, and the hidden door opened without wind like a silent invitation.
A silver-gray Maine squatted on the wooden railing, and looked at the swarthy two-legged beast with a look of vigour, and before the goddess of the night could show a smile behind the veil of secrecy, it ran away with a "whoosh", and climbed upstairs with a rolling belt, skimming over the thick Arabic carpet, and slamming onto the desk, its tail carrying three of the eight matryoshka dolls, and its paws slipped as it stepped on the scribbled scratch paper, and fell into the arms of the desk owner. Finally, I slowly calmed down under the touch of a hand.
The goddess of the night walked up the stairs with ease, sat leisurely on a matted easy chair, and took a sip of a cup of hot cocoa on the small folding plastic table at hand, and the wolf ears on his head involuntarily fluttered twice, which frightened the Maine, who was the most burly of all domestic cats.
The man sitting behind the desk expertly pulled the cat that was trying to hide on his shoulder, and said helplessly, "You should be restrained. β
"I didn't do anything, it's your old buddy who is too timid."
"Cats and dogs are natural enemies, not to mention that you are a wolf." The man said in a researcher-like tone, "So please don't bare your teeth at it." β
The goddess of the night pursed her lips indecently under the veil, put away her mischievous thoughts, and said that if she didn't want the big cat to be frightened, she should get to the point.
"I found a remnant of the old days."
The goddess of the night sat up slightly in her easy chair, and before she could say some basic questions, the omniscient and all-powerful Creator went on to say, "From Asia before the First Age, that is, the Western Continent that is now sealed, the Chinese, named Meng Bai, now known as Thoth.
The Creator raised his chin and motioned for Him to look at the paintings hanging on the walls: Picasso-esque abstract paintings have long since become live broadcasts of the real world, with a dark-haired, purple-eyed teenager peeling potatoes with a knife.
"Looks like a kid."
"This is what he looks like at the age of nineteen, and I made it out of flesh and blood magic based on his memories." The Creator paused, "But he's actually twenty-nine years old. β
"What's going on?"
"When I found him, his memories were badly worn, but the memories of his nineteen years old were very well preserved by some obsession. In order to stabilize my self-awareness, I changed him into what he was when he was nineteen years old and sealed the person. β
The goddess of the night heard his implication: "He is a mythical creature? And according to the law of "the stronger the more crazy", this old remnant must at least be Sequence 2, otherwise he will not fall to the point where his self-perception is confused.
"Yes, I don't know if it's a grace or a curse."
"Which path does he belong to? What is the current sequence? β
"Voyeur Path Sequence 0 - Hermit."
The goddess of the night took a soft breath, and the two gods were relatively silent for a while, and the red sun took advantage of the sky to rise into the desolate sky, and the sun outside the dream sank silently into the horizon, and the night ate away the last vestiges of dusk, bringing the earth and the sea into its dark embrace.
