Chapter Eighty-Three: Gilderoy Lockhart

Gilderoy Lockhart is in a good mood.

He was once again voted the Most Charming Smile Award by Witch Weekly, which was featured on the cover of this magazine with a wide audience.

To celebrate the good news, or rather, to add fuel to the heat, Lockhart decided to host a tea party at Lady Padswift's teahouse in Hogsmeade to talk face-to-face with his loyal fans.

The storefront of Lady Padiff's Tea House is located on a street corner in Hogsmeade.

The owner of the teahouse is Lady Pardiff, who has the same name as the teahouse. The window outside her teahouse was covered with strange ornaments, most of them very tender pink, like the color that cardamom girls love the most.

Inside the teahouse is cramped and cramped, the steam of tea makes it look foggy, and almost all the furnishings are decorated with cheesy lace.

At this time, the students of Hogwarts were already on vacation, and few young wizards appeared in Hogsmeade villages. Therefore, most of the people in the teahouse came to the tea party specially to attend the tea party, and they were some housewives and older witches who had time and energy.

By this time, the shop was already filled with groups of witches, who looked expectantly at the small stage that had been set aside in front of the teahouse.

"My dear family, how are you?"

With a loud voice, a wizard dressed like a peacock stepped out from behind the curtain of the teahouse.

Gilderoy Lockhart looks handsome from the outside.

He had wavy blonde hair, reflective white teeth, and an extravagant robe covered with intricate and extravagant patterns that looked like a peacock with an open screen.

Lockhart walked onto the stage with a golden microphone and greeted everyone in the teahouse warmly.

Immediately there was a scream in Madame Padiv's teahouse, and the witches shouted Lockhart's name, carrying their little benches and desperately trying to move forward.

"Everyone, don't be impatient, I deliberately leave enough free time to interact with the fans!" Lockhart showed his trademark smile, his smooth teeth reflecting the light, "Don't worry, I'll treat every fan equally, and everyone will be able to get my autograph, as well as ......."

"A hug!"

The witches in the audience were even more excited, and one even fainted with excitement.

Lockhart seemed to be prepared for the situation, and he waved his hand inside the teahouse's counter. The owner of the teahouse, who was waiting nearby, was fat and had a shiny black bun behind her hair, and immediately took a cup of herbal tea and squeezed through the crowd to the fainting witch.

This little episode did not dampen Lockhart's mood at all, and he walked onto a small specially built stage and stood in a place surrounded by many candles.

[In other words, it is the best way to read aloud and listen to books at present, @

A fat, middle-aged witch who looks gentle and kind.

"What's your name?" He asked.

The witch seemed to be unable to believe that she had been picked and covered her face like a shy little girl.

"Molly, Molly Wes, Mr. Lockhart." She stood up and said excitedly, "The answer to that question was lettuce!"

"Excellent! Perfect answer!" Lockhart smiled and took a bright pink rose from his pocket and handed it to Mrs. Wesley, "This is your gift, thank you very much for reading my writings."

Mrs. Wesley took the pink rose, her face beaming with joy. The other witches had envious looks in their eyes.

In the midst of the noise, a nice voice suddenly rang out from the window, breaking the chaos.

"So...... Why did that vampire eat lettuce?"

Lockhart was stunned for a moment, and looked at the window of Madame Padiv's teahouse, and found that the originally closed window had been opened at some point.

A silver-haired figure sits on a windowsill. He stepped on the window frame with one foot and drooped down the other casually, holding an open copy of "Traveling on a Boat with a Vampire" in his hand.

As soon as he spoke, he attracted the attention of most of the witches present.

The witches looked curiously at the handsome man who had suddenly appeared, and secretly compared him to Lockhart, feeling that after comparison, they felt that after comparison, they ...... Lockhart doesn't seem to be as handsome as he used to be, right?

"Lady Pardiv, how can there be a wizard here?" Looking at the sudden appearance, Lockhart was a little unhappy, and asked Lady Padiff with a straight face, "Didn't I say that? You have to take my full set of collector's edition books and a limited number of invitations to let people in, how do you do the security of your teahouse?"

Seeing that the business was about to receive bad reviews, Mrs. Padiv hurried through the crowd to the window, ready to chase the uninvited guest away.

At this moment, Mrs. Weasley, who had just received the pink rose, suddenly let out an "oops".

"You must be Professor Dracula, right?" She was the first to squeeze to the window and greeted Dracula enthusiastically, "Silver hair, burgundy eyes, handsome...... You must be right!"

"...... are you" Dracula looked at Mrs. Weasley's fiery red hair and thought of her last name, and suddenly felt a little strange...... It can't be such a coincidence, is it, another Wes?

"I'm Percy, Fred, George, and Ron's mom!" Mrs. Weasley said happily, "Those boys in my family have been talking to me about you all day long, especially Fred and George's two stinky boys, that you are the best Defence Against the Dark Arts professors they've ever seen!"

….

"Have you forgotten that you asked my husband and me to send that crystal ball to Romania?"

"Ah, that's right! Thank you so much for your help!" Dracula was stunned for a moment, then suddenly realized.

He had almost forgotten about it, but it was only after Mrs. Wesley mentioned it that he had barely remembered it.

In this way, if he hadn't asked Wesley's twins' parents to help deliver the crystal ball to Brown Castle, he wouldn't have received messages from there now, let alone had nothing to do with Lockhart's tea party.

Mrs. Weasley warmly and cheerfully expressed her gratitude to Dracula for taking care of her sons at school, and introduced him to Lockhart, a so-called Defense Against the Dark Arts expert, who felt that the two of them must have a lot in common.

On the other side of the Paddev Teahouse, Lockhart was not in a hurry to get rid of Dracula after learning that he was the Defence Against the Dark Arts professor at Hogwarts, but instead rolled his eyes and came up with a better plan.

He walked to the side of the stage and explained to the photographer in charge of taking pictures and the reporter who was recording the scene:

"See that Hogwarts professor over there? I'll go over and take a picture with him in a moment. The content of your newspaper can be written like this - shock! The professor of Defence Against the Dark Arts at Hogwarts is also a famous Defence Master, a member of the Anti-Dark Arts Alliance, and a famous writer, Gilderoy Lockhart

Fans!"

After saying these words, Lockhart thought of Dracula's handsome face, and still felt a little uneasy, and repeatedly instructed the photographer:

"Remember, you must not take a picture of the professor's face when you take a group photo for a while! Put my 'most beautiful smile' in the center of the picture and find him a little place in the corner."

The videographer made an "OK" gesture.

Lockhart relented, smiled what he thought was a very decent one, and walked to the window where Dracula was.

"Ah, Professor Dracula, I've admired the Great Name for a long time!" He said in an exaggerated tone.

At the same time, he graciously extends a hand to Dracula and then gives a smile that he thinks is perfect for the camera's position.

Dracula, however, frowned in disgust, not at all meaning to shake Lockhart's hand.

He smelled a rich perfume on Lockhart that was not inferior to Quirrell's, and even more so! The smell is unacceptable to the vampire's keen sense of smell.

After the incident of stealing the Philosopher's Stone ended, everyone knew about Quirrell.

He sprayed perfume on himself just to cover up the rotten smell of Voldemort's parasitism, and he was not the kidney-deficient, lewd man that his students had always thought.

However, Lockhart in front of him was in good spirits and full of emotion, and it was obvious that he was not entangled in any black magic.

So it is difficult not to wonder if such a person has any other physical problems when he sprays such a strong perfume on his body......

"Kacha" sounded.

The photographer took a precious image -

The famous writer Gilderoy Lockhart stretched out a hand and smiled awkwardly at the camera, while the Defence Against the Dark Arts professor next to him clasped his hands to his chest and looked out the window with a look of disgust.

….

"Ahem, I didn't let you shoot like this!" Lockhart coughed dryly and anxiously shouted to the photographer on the other side, "This photo will be destroyed immediately, do you hear me?!"

After saying this, in order to avoid the next embarrassment, he thought of another way.

Lockhart took "Traveling on a Vampire on a Boat" that Dracula had just placed on the windowsill, then took out an emerald peacock quill from his breast pocket and signed his name on the title page of the book.

He's going to let the newspaper be named like that when the time comes—

"Look! Gilderoy Lockhart, a well-known author and Defence Against the Dark Arts expert, has signed autographs for the Hogwarts Defence Against the Dark Arts professor!"

After signing his name, Lockhart complacently handed the book back to Dracula.

"Professor Dracula, I found out that you were just reading my book, and you were so enthralled! I'm sure you're a fan of mine, right?" He smiled and said, "I'm the biggest fan, if there are any other books that need to be signed, you can take them out at any time, I'm happy to serve you!"

Dracula ignored him, instead taking the book and looking at the title page.

Lockhart's handwriting is still quite good, and he has the style of a well-known writer.

Dracula nodded in satisfaction, and handed the copy of Traveling on a Ship with a Vampire to Mrs. Wesley.

"Mrs. Wesley, could you please bring this book to your son, Ron Wess?" He said, "This is a book from his good friend Hermione Granger, I borrowed it some time ago and read it, and I forgot to give it back to her."

"No problem!" Mrs. Wesley readily agreed, and put the book in the basket she carried on her arm.

There was not only this book in the vegetable basket, but also a whole set of Lockhart's collector's edition books, which made Lockhart feel sick for a while.

Of course, the actions of one fan don't matter to Lockhart. He quickly turned his attention to Dracula again.

Lockhart had figured out that the Defence Against the Dark Arts professor didn't seem to be bothering him.

But he is not discouraged, as a well-known person who has been famous for many years, he can be said to be experienced in the cheeky world, and he quickly relied on it

The experience of the day found another way.

He walked straight to the podium and picked up the microphone.

"I hope the little episode didn't disturb everyone's interest." Lockhart smiled and said to the witches in the audience.

"This is the Defence Against the Dark Arts professor from Hogwarts, Professor Dracula! He had admired me for a long time, and when he learned that I was holding a tea party here, he made a special trip to Hogsmeade to ask me for an autograph. I hope you can give him a little applause, okay?"

There was a round of applause from the audience.

In the applause, the middle-aged witches looked back and forth at the faces of Dracula and Lockhart, admiring the two handsome male witches with relish, feeling that they had never seen such a pleasing picture.

"As you know, I am a third-class holder of the Order of Merlin, an honorary member of the Anti-Dark Arts League, and a well-known Defence Against the Dark Arts expert." Seeing the performance of the audience, Lockhart began his speech, hoping to draw the attention of the audience to himself.

….

"Just the other day I won the Witch Weekly's Most Charming Smile Award for the fifth time, ah, not to mention this one, all my accolades have nothing to do with my handsomeness, I don't rely on my smile to resist black magic."

"Actually, to tell you the truth, I've always wanted to apply for the position of Defence Against the Dark Arts professor at Hogwarts. Because as far as I know, all previous Defence Against the Dark Arts professors have had accidents and will not be able to continue in the professorship the following year."

"I think if I were to become a professor, I would definitely break this rule and save more of my colleagues in this position!"

A sympathetic expression appeared on Lockhart's face, causing the witches to wipe tears with emotion.

"This Professor Dracula must have read many of my writings, so he withstood the experience of being a professor of Defence Against the Dark Arts and persevered until the next year! And I will definitely not hesitate my experience, answer the professor's confusion more sincerely, and contribute a strong force to the future of this position!"

There was a round of applause in the Padifu teahouse.

Dracula leaned against the wall, watching with interest as Lockhart's shameless performance.

Can such a pompous, conceited, stupid man really survive so many adventures in his books? Dracula wasn't convinced, so he became interested in how Lockhart could concoct these detailed and complete experiences.

He took a step forward, and before anyone else noticed, he had already made his way past the crowd and appeared next to Lockhart.

"Since you're willing to answer my questions sincerely, please take the trouble to answer my question first—"

"The vampire who traveled with you...... Why eat lettuce?"

Lockhart's smile instantly stiffened when he heard this question.

"Ah...... Ah, this ......" he stumbled for a long time before he thought of an improvised answer, "yes, that evil vampire was impressed by my charm, and after my persuasion, he got rid of his bad habit of sucking human blood and ate lettuce instead!"

The further he spoke, the more confident he became, and he even convinced himself in the end.

Dracula shook his head helplessly.

Not to mention answering doubts, I'm afraid that this well-known writer has forgotten even what he wrote in his book.

In "Traveling on the Same Boat with Vampires", there is little mention of the protagonist's personality charm, and even if it is occasionally mentioned, it is like a snake and deliberately done it. Moreover, just by looking at the attitude towards vampires in the book, you can see a big difference.

In that book, even if the protagonist and the vampire who traveled on the same ship had some misunderstandings at first, by the middle and late stages of the book, the two had formed a deep friendship, and even the protagonist still had some faint admiration for the vampire.

However, Lockhart has just called the vampire in the book "evil", an adjective that is completely contrary to the main purpose of the book.

"Mr. Lockhart, do you need to read your book again before answering my question?" Dracula is ready to give Lockhart another chance.

"Of course not, my answer is the correct answer." Lockhart was completely unaware of the danger and said confidently, "Professor Dracula, believe me right!"

"Okay." Dracula shrugged, "In that case, then you can come with me."

He snapped his fingers slightly, and the two of them disappeared in an instant.

……

That night, on the front page of the Daily Prophet, the bold headline attracted the attention of wizards from all walks of life -

The witch is silent, the witch is in tears, and the famous writer has been kidnapped by the Hogwarts professor in public, and his whereabouts are unknown!
