Chapter 110: Chocolate Frog Picture

In Hogwarts Castle, Harry apparently didn't know that his mentor, the accidental diary, had been ordered to get his blood within a month and a half.

At this point, he was worried about tomorrow's Defence Against the Dark Arts class.

"Hermione, you're the smartest of us, can you guess a little what Defense Against the Dark Arts class will look like tomorrow?" Harry sat on the couch in the Gryffindor common room, looking at Hermione with a sad face.

"If you're asking about Defence Against the Dark Arts, I'm not the smartest one, Harry." The little witch with messy hair didn't look up and said, "You're the number one Defence Against the Dark Arts!"

It can be seen that Hermione is still a little resentful that she didn't get the first place in all subjects, especially Harry, who still doesn't do his homework well all day and keeps messing around with Ron.

"No, Hermione, my last exam was just a coincidence, you're the smartest!" Harry leaned on the table and said flatteringly.

Speaking of which, he thought of the journal in which he taught his homework.

Speaking of which, it seems like you haven't seen Tom in the past two days? Harry was stunned for a moment, thinking that he had accidentally dropped the diary somewhere.

Harry was trying to find Tom in the journal and ask him if he had any thoughts on Defence Against the Dark Arts lessons.

At that moment, Ron came up the stairs on the other side of the common room.

"Hermione, I've got the book you want!" With a look of gratitude, he handed a book to the little witch who was struggling to write, "Look, what are those magical beasts that Hagrid said leaked out of his mouth?"

[Given the circumstances, Harry stopped what he had just taken and looked at the book in Ron's hand.]

The cover of the book is dark green as a whole, with some golden patterns painted on it, and in the upper middle is written the seven glittering words "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them".

"This is Mr. Newt Scamander's book, and if we were to take a Magical Beasts conservation class in our third year, we would probably use it." Hermione took the book and explained to Harry and Ron.

She then showed a look of adoration, "This book contains almost all the magical beasts that can be seen in the wizarding world, I really don't know how Mr. Scamander did it!"

"Wait, Hermione." Ron's expression was a little confused, "You mean...... It's a third-grade textbook, but you've read it before?"

"yes, Hermione, we're only in second grade!" Harry chimed in.

"What do you think, you two?" Hermione gave them a blank look, "I finished reading this book before the start of my first grade. I haven't read it for a while, and I can't remember some of it, so I need Ron to help me borrow one from the library."

Harry: "......"

Ron: "......"

"Alright, stop standing there, come and see this amazing beast!" When Hermione flipped to a page of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, her eyes suddenly lit up and she beckoned to Harry and Ron, "The name Hagrid mentioned yesterday is Hinkpunk." ….

Harry and Ron leaned over to see a magical creature carrying a lamp in the book, bouncing on its only leg.

"Hinkpunk is a small, one-legged magical creature with a blue, gray, or white smoky appearance. It likes to disguise itself as a helpful person, carrying a lamp to illuminate travelers at night, thus luring them off their path and into dangerous swamps or wetlands......

Hermione looked at the notes in the book and read out the characteristics of Hinkpunk.

"Hey, is Hinkpunk, a magical creature just luring people into danger?" Ron asked, a little incredulous, "It doesn't seem to have much attack power, does it?"

"Looks like that's really the case." Hermione nodded, her messy hair dangling, "Normally, if we pay a little attention in the field, we probably won't be put in danger by Hinkpunk."

"But...... Doesn't that seem like what we think?" Harry gave a puzzled look

"We were just speculating about how Professor Dracula was going to torture us - Neville guessed he was going to bring a dragon into the classroom and let us fight it!"

"Harry, Professor Dracula is a good professor, he won't put us up against an impossible enemy!" Hermione said angrily.

"Uh......" Ron was interrupted and silently retorted, "Hermione, do you think it's possible...... Professor Dracula himself is someone we can't deal with......

Hermione's tone froze, and she was speechless for a moment.

"Ahem, Hermione, let's see what the other magical beast Hagrid said leaked out of his mouth is." Harry covered his mouth and forced a smile as he said, "What's that magical beast's name...... Grindelwald, right?"

"It's Grindy Lowe, Harry." Returning to Fantastic Beasts, Hermione regained some confidence and corrected Harry's mistake, "I remember Grindelwald seemed to be a character in the chocolate frog picture, no, it should be mentioned in Professor Dumbledore's picture?"

Ron thought for a moment, then took out a pentagonal blue box from his pocket and unwrapped it.

"I just brought a box of chocolate frogs, and we can look for Professor Dumbledore's drawings." When it comes to things that have nothing to do with studying, Ron becomes interested, "I used to collect a whole set of chocolate frog pictures, but unfortunately I put them in my bedroom, and now I am too lazy to pick them up."

"Ron, how do you make sure this box of chocolate frogs has Professor Dumbledore on it?" Hermione looked suspiciously at Ron, who was unpacking the box.

"There's no way to be sure, but it's very probable." Ron removed the outer packaging of the box and lifted the blue lid of the pentagon, "Dumbledore has the largest number of chocolate frog paintings, and Harry and I first met on the Hogwarts Express when we got Dumbledore's paintings!"

He took the chocolate frog out of the box and placed it on the table, and Harry quickly pressed the chocolate frog to prevent it from jumping under the table on its own.

Ron then pulled the pentagonal blue picture from under the frog. ….

The blue picture has a golden frame in which an old man with glasses, white hair, and a long white beard is smiling kindly at him.

"Look! Look at what I'm saying, it's Dumbledore, right?" Ron triumphantly held the picture in his hand and proudly showed it to Harry and Hermione.

Hermione snatched the picture from Ron's hand, flipped it to the back, and carefully read the white letters on the card—

"Albus Dumbledore, current Headmaster of Hogwarts; Widely regarded as the greatest wizard of his time, Dumbledore's well-known contributions include defeating the Dark Wizard Grindelwald in 1945 and discovering the twelve uses of dragon blood, his successful alchemy with his collaborator Nicole Lemay, and Professor Dumbledore's love of chamber music and the Ten Pillars of Rolling Ball."

The three young wizards didn't know the story behind the so-called "Dumbledore's well-known contributions", but looked at the picture curiously, slightly stunned.

"I didn't realize until now that we didn't have to go to Professor Dracula to ask who Nicol Lemay was......" Harry said stunned, "Nicol Lemay's name is clearly on Dumbledore's chocolate frog painting."

"But Professor Dracula has given you the opportunity to talk to Mr. Lemay remotely!" Hermione said angrily, feeling sorry for not communicating with the famous alchemist, "Really, you two wasted a great opportunity, if it were me, I would have to prepare hundreds of questions about alchemy......

"So Grindelwald is famous?" Ron asked, somewhat confused, "It's actually written in the chocolate frog picture as 'Dumbledore's well-known contribution.'"

"I remember!" Hearing Ron's question, Hermione's eyes suddenly lit up, and she pulled out a copy of "History of Magic" from a thick stack of tomes beside her, "You must not have listened to the History of Magic properly!"

"Professor Binns mentioned to us in class that Grindelwald is considered one of the most powerful dark wizards of all time, set off fifty years ago

Global Wizarding Wars ......"

"No one but Hermione will listen to the ......history of magic," Ron muttered quietly.

Hermione ignored him and flipped to the back page of A History of Magic, where a middle-aged wizard with blond hair and blue eyes was smiling wildly at the three young wizards outside the book.

If Dracula were to see the image of this wizard, he might think of the blonde youth he had seen in the Mirror of Eris, and perhaps he would be even more interested in the most famous dark wizard of the first half of the century.

However, Harry and Ron had little interest in the Dark Wizard who had been defeated by Dumbledore, and they just wanted to interrupt Hermione's thirst for knowledge and divert the conversation about the history of magic that they were tired of.

"Hermione, have you forgotten what we're doing?" Harry said cautiously, "We're going to look up the Defence Against the Dark Arts class tomorrow and see what we're up against."

If it was a different subject, perhaps they would have found the content of the next lesson through the textbook. ….

However, Professor Dracula's Defence Against the Dark Arts class never had any rules, as if he could talk wherever he wanted, without any planning...... It's no wonder that Defence Against the Dark Arts has a higher failure rate than other major subjects.

Of course, Professor Dracula is reliable enough, because in previous years, the failure rate of Defence Against the Dark Arts was several times higher than last year!

What is a headache for the little wizards is that this year Professor Dracula has produced a textbook by himself, but this textbook is not for teaching at all, it is all about picking on the book "Dark Magic: A Guide to Self-Defense", so that the little wizards are not able to read any book, and they can only leave it to their fate about what will be in the next class.

This made Hermione uncomfortable when she wanted to prepare for her homework!

Hearing that Harry wanted to get down to business, Hermione stopped looking at the "History of Magic" in her hand, and glared at Harry helplessly.

It was Harry who misspelled Grindellow with the name Grindelwald he had seen on the chocolate frog picture before, and the topic ran off the hook!

"The remaining Fantastic Beast is Grindy Lowe, don't make that mistake next time, Harry!" She said angrily, as she flipped back a few pages of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, which had just been pressed under other books, "Found it!"

"Grindy Lowe is a green monster with horns, a creature of the dark arts. It has a green body with green teeth and horns on its head. Grindillo has very long fingers that, despite their strength in grasping things, break easily......

"Hmm...... XX level of magical beasts? It's a little too low, isn't it?" Ron looked curiously at the danger level marked in the book and asked, "Hermione, what level of magical beast is the cat you've always wanted to raise?" X-level?"

"The cat is an XXX-level magical animal, and it is dangerous." Hermione said, "So what I want to raise is just a half-breed kitten with a certain amount of raccoon blood, not a purebred raccoon."

"What?!" Ron's eyes widened in surprise, "A cat is actually an XXX-level magical animal?!"

"Hermione, I beg you to stop having a cat and just think about my spots, okay?"

"Ron, tamed half-breed raccoons are not dangerous!" Hermione corrected solemnly, "And I'm sure I'm going to feed my cat something cleaner and tastier so that it doesn't eat mice." You can't deprive me of my right to have a cat just because I have mice!"

"Hey! You mean Spotted is dirty?" Ron asked angrily.

Seeing that the two friends had a tendency to quarrel, Harry hurriedly acted as a peacemaker and stood between the two.

"Ron, Hermione, you're off topic again!" Harry said, "We haven't figured out the dangers of Grindillo yet!"

"No need to research, Grindy Lowe is not too dangerous." Hermione sat down angrily and tilted her head to the side, "I don't think Professor Dracula is going to do that kind of devilish combat training for us."

"That's good, that's good." Harry breathed a sigh of relief.

……

Even though Hermione speculated that Professor Dracula wouldn't be as ruthless as he was the first week, the three of them were still unsure what they would face in Defence Against the Dark Arts class the next day. ….

So the next day, after the first period of herbal medicine class, Harry volunteered to go to the third-year wizard who was the first defense against the dark arts class to ask about the lesson.

"Harry, why are you so diligent today?" Ron looked at Harry, who had quickly packed up his equipment for the herb class, and asked suspiciously, "And the things learned in the third and second years are not quite the same, so I don't think the reference will be too useful."

"There is only a year between the third and second grades, so there shouldn't be much difference in the content of the Defence Against the Dark Arts class." Harrily scrambled to the door of Greenhouse One, "And I happen to know someone in the third year of Ravenclaw."

"Wait a minute, Harry." Ron tugged at Harry's backpack behind his back, "We can walk together, but when we go back to the dorm room at noon, why don't we just ask a Gryffindor third-year senior what we learned in the morning?"

"But I'm still a little flustered, and I immediately want to know what we're going to face in Defense Against the Dark Arts class in the afternoon!" Harry firmly shook Ron's hand away and rushed out the door of the greenhouse.

Looking at the back of Harry as he hurriedly left, Ron and Hermione glanced at each other, looking at each other.

"When did Harry know a Ravenclaw third-year?" Ron asked blankly.

"I don't know......," Hermione shook her head blankly, "I haven't seen Harry behave like this."

……

Harry ran wildly, calculating eagerly.

He cleaned up quickly, and the Ravenclaw students liked to leave the classroom late, so by the time he left Greenhouse One, the Ravenclaw students in the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom hadn't left yet.

The Herbology Conservatory, though located some distance from the Gryffindor Tower, is relatively close to the Ravenclaw Tower, although it still spans the entire teaching area – the greenhouse is located northeast of the square cloister of the teaching area, and the Ravenclaw Tower is located on the southwest side of the teaching area.

If Harry was fast enough, he could run from Greenhouse No. 1 in the northeast along the north side of the square cloister in the teaching area to the west side, then climb up the second floor from the gatehouse leading to the Quidditch pitch on the west side, and then run south to the staircase near the Ravenclaw Tower.

The Defence Against the Dark Arts classroom is located on the second floor, near the middle of the corridor on the east side, and Ravenclaw students who want to go back to the common room must go around the corridor on the south side of the teaching area to meet Harry.

Harry was gambling on his luck, on the fact that the student he wanted to meet wouldn't go straight to the auditorium for lunch—

The auditorium is usually crowded at the end of class, and the road leading to the auditorium is congested, so most Ravenclaw students like to go back to the common room to read a book for a while before going to the auditorium for dinner......

Eventually, the effort paid off, and Harry stopped the third-year Ravenclaw student he had "knew" at the second floor staircase of the Ravenclaw Tower.

Walking down the cloister was a very beautiful Asian girl, with long, waterfall-like black hair, and a few books in her hands, adding a gentle bookish air.

"You...... Hello, Cho Zhang." Harry greeted her with a rough dress and a flushed face, "We met on the same time that Professor Dracula gave out the amulet."

Qiu Zhang looked at the boy in front of him with unkempt and red face with windblown hair.

"Harry Potter?" She pursed her lips and smiled, "Actually, you don't need to introduce yourself, I don't think there will be anyone here who doesn't know you."

Then, Cho Chang smiled politely and looked at Harry with an inquiring look, waiting for him to say what he was looking for her.

"Ah...... Well, it's not a big deal......" Harry glanced at Cho Chang, quickly looked away, and said shyly, "Our first lesson of the afternoon is Defence Against the Dark Arts class, and I wanted to take the liberty of asking what you guys talked about in the morning?"

Qiu Zhang bowed her head slightly, and was just about to speak, but another voice sounded one step ahead of her—

"If you want to know what to say, wouldn't it be nice to just ask me?"

A silver-haired figure that appeared out of nowhere suddenly spoke.
