Chapter 224: The Wizengamot Courtroom
Early in the morning of the trial, Sirius changed into a proper outfit in Blake's ancestral house and walked slowly to the door.
Near the doorway hung a portrait of an old lady, who snorted at Sirius, then turned and disappeared into the frame, as if not wanting to see the de facto heir of the Black family.
"Sirius, you're off mom again?" Regulus's voice came from afar at the top of the staircase. "Why did she suddenly run upstairs from the portrait downstairs?"
"She muttered all day long that I should find a pure-blood wizard to marry, wouldn't it bother you if it was you?" Sirius casually shouted upstairs, "Her expression looks like the Blake family is dying."
"Is there a problem with what Mom said? You can't let my Yin Corpse body go to the Brick family to carry on the lineage, can you?" Regulus shouted.
He walked around the corner of the staircase and looked a little surprised to see Sirius, who was rarely no longer scruffy.
"Hey, what are you crazy about today?" Regulus looked Sirius up and down, "Why did you suddenly look like a human...... You're not really going to date a woman, are you?"
After all, Sirius has been in Azkaban for more than ten years, and he has long been indifferent to things like image and decency, and he stays at home every day and is sloppy, which provokes Mrs. Blake in the portrait to slap him up when she gets the chance.
However, today's Sirius suddenly changed into a formal suit, and deliberately trimmed his hair and beard, revealing his previously handsome face.
Regulus naturally thought it was strange.
"Of course not." Sirius said impatiently, "I'll see my godson today, at least not to make a bad impression of him."
With that, he walked up to Regulus and posed.
"How's my body? Will Harry like it when he sees it?"
"Anyway, compared to the way you looked before, no matter what you wear, you look like a person." Regulus chuckled softly, "I remember, what's that...... Is Peter Pediru going to be tried today?"
"Hmm." Sirius nodded, his eyes becoming fierce, "If those scum from the Ministry of Magic dare to acquit that dead mouse, then I will personally kill him in court."
Regulus frowned slightly as he looked at his clenched fists.
"You don't have to do anything like that." He said solemnly, "Killing people in front of the judge and many members of the Wizengamot, do you really want to make the Blake family die?"
"But I can't let him run away like that!" Sirius amplified his voice, "I'm sorry enough for Jaime and Lily, I can't go unavenged for their revenge!"
"I didn't say I wouldn't let you take revenge." Regulus's brow furrowed even tighter, "But you have to find the right way too...... There are only a few people left in the Blake family's direct line, and you can't have an accident."
"What can I do?" Sirius laughed to himself, "Even Dumbledore will follow the rules of those scum, what can I do?"
Regulus was suddenly stunned. ….
"I seem to know someone who doesn't care about the rules." He said slowly, "Before the court begins, you might as well go to Hogwarts and beg for Mr. Dracula's help. That adult should be willing to go to the courtroom and watch a good show."
……
The trial of Peter Pediroux will officially begin at half past nine in the morning.
Dumbledore took Harry and Ron to the Wizengamot courtroom at the lowest level of the Ministry of Magic, the courtroom where the case was heard.
Sirius, on the other hand, went straight to Dracula's office after leaving the Blake's house, asking him to testify as a witness.
Dracula had long wanted to go to the Ministry of Magic to have fun, but Dumbledore's attitude had not been clear, and there were always other things delayed, so it never happened.
This time, with Sirius having given him an excuse, he readily agreed, and walked with the masked Sirius into the fireplace that led to the main hall of the Ministry of Magic.
The green flames fell, and a long, narrow and golden hall was revealed.
The span of this hall is very long, and there is almost no end in sight to the left and right. The floor is polished with a polished dark wood floor, and the peacock blue ceiling is inlaid with glittering gold symbols, constantly moving and changing, like a giant high-altitude bulletin board.
There were gilded fireplaces embedded in the walls on both sides, and from time to time a wizard would emerge from the green flames of the fireplace into the main hall.
"Hey, the one in front is a little out of the way." A voice rang out behind Dracula and Sirius.
It turned out that neither of them knew which way to go, and they didn't move for a long time, blocking the exit of the fireplace.
Dracula and Sirius stepped out of the way, looking at each other.
"I thought you should know where the Wizengamot courtroom is." Dracula said expressionlessly.
"Ahem...... I forgot about it, I should have let Dumbledore take us there." Sirius seemed a little embarrassed, but he couldn't tell what kind of expression he was wearing with a mask.
"Such a big Ministry of Magic, I don't even put a signpost, I really don't understand how these employees can not get lost." Dracula pursed his lips, ready to use the Imperius Charm to pick a lucky passerby to show them the way.
Just then, he saw a pink-haired witch suddenly come out of the fireplace opposite, and his eyes moved.
"Tonks, this way!" Dracula beckoned to her.
Tonks looked back, a look of surprise when she saw Dracula.
"Professor Dracula, how did you come up with the idea of coming to the Ministry of Magic?" She trotted over to Dracula and asked cautiously.
Her spirit was tense, as if she was afraid that Dracula would suddenly blow up the Ministry of Magic.
"Do you know where the Wizengamot courtroom is? We seem to be lost." Looking at Tonks' nervous expression, Dracula shook his head with a smile, "Don't worry, I'm here for a trial."
"Oh, that's right." Tonks let out a long sigh of relief, "That's easy, come with me!" It's just a few minutes before work time, enough to bring you over."
As she spoke, she glanced at Sirius, feeling that the masked man was a little familiar, so she asked curiously, "Is this also a professor at Hogwarts?" ….
"It's not." Dracula said, "This is Sirius Black."
"Oooh...... Huh?" Tonks jumped to his feet, "He'...... He's ......."
"Shhh......h
He was going to the courtroom to surprise the Wizengamot, and it would be funny if he was caught by the Ministry of Magic before he reached the courtroom......
"Don't worry, Sirius isn't really a bad guy, I'm here to help him clear his name." Dracula chuckled and said, "Don't you believe me?"
"I believe in you, Professor Dracula. But ......."
Tonks looked at Sirius and looked at Sirius, frightened and curious, his face turned blue and white for a while, and he didn't know if it was the effect of disguised Maggs or her own expression.
"Since you believe me, then don't do it, just lead the way." Dracula interrupted her.
Tonks' words got stuck in his throat.
She now regretted that she had promised Dracula to show him the way......
Led by Tonks, Dracula and Sirius followed the flow to the end of the main hall of the Ministry of Magic.
At the end of the main hall, the narrow space suddenly becomes wide, forming a large circular square. There is a fountain in the middle, and several huge golden statues stand in the middle of a circular pool.
The tallest of the statues was a wizard with his wand pointed straight into the air.
Around the wizard gathered a beautiful witch, a centaur, a goblin, and a house-elf, and the last three all looked adoringly
Two wizards. And the fountain glitters with water flowing from the ends of the wands of the two wizards.
Seeing this fountain, Dracula frowned slightly.
"Fountain of the Magic Brothers? Heh......" he scoffed.
Although he didn't like the centaurs very much, he also knew that they and the elves were all arrogant, and he didn't bother to be in the company of wizards at all-
The goblins have rebelled several times in previous centuries and have not yet been convinced by the wizards; Not to mention the centaurs, who refuse to even accept the identity of "human". If you want them to look at the wizard with the kind of adoring eyes portrayed in the statue, I am afraid it is not an exaggeration to describe it as a fantasy.
"Professor Dracula, what's wrong?" Tonks looked at Dracula in bewilderment.
"It's okay, let's go." Dracula waved his hand mockingly.
The greatest stupidity of human beings is self-righteousness.
When you think about it this way, wizards like Dumbledore, Sirius, and Regulus who can treat werewolves, house-elves, and other races equally are indeed quite remarkable.
Dracula ignored the fountain and stepped into a magic elevator with Tonks and Sirius.
The metal folding door of the elevator "snapped" shut, and with the creaking sound and the cool breeze blowing in from time to time, the three of them reached the ninth basement floor of the Ministry of Magic.
The style here is very different from the main hall, with only a simple corridor leading to a black door, the floor and walls are covered with dark tiles, and there is not a single window or door on either side of the corridor, which makes it even more lonely. ….
Two rows of torches are placed on the dark tiles of the wall, shimmering blue and white, adding a bit of mystery to the whole space.
"The courtroom is special, you have to walk through the ninth floor to the tenth basement floor to get there, and you need to walk a little more." Tonks explained to Dracula.
Then, she took the two of them around a corner, ready to walk towards the steps leading to the tenth floor.
At this moment, Dracula suddenly stopped.
He turned his head to look at a lonely, black door at the end of the hallway. There seemed to be a power sealed inside the door that he knew so well, and it vanished in an instant.
"Where is that door?" Dracula asked softly.
"There's ...... Department of Mystery Affairs." Tonks was stunned for a moment, glanced at the lonely black portal with some evasion, and said, "Professor Dracula, that's the top secret agency of the Ministry of Magic, and I don't have permission to know what's inside."
"Department of Mysteries?" Dracula fell into deep thought.
Nicol Lemay told him that the time turner was made in this department, and that the department had invited Lemay, a master alchemist, to come and help them with their research on time energy.
Could that breath just now be the energy of time?
"Professor Dracula, what are you thinking?" Tonks' voice rang in Dracula's ears.
Dracula looked up and saw that she was looking at her with a panicked expression.
"Professor Dracula, you must not bother with the idea of the Department of Mysteries!" Tonks said aggrievedly, "I brought you here this time, and I don't want to be fired from the Auror office yet......
"Don't worry, I didn't have the idea of fighting the Department of Mysteries." Dracula shook his head a little amusedly, "Who do you think of me?"
Tonks' concern was not unreasonable, after all, he did have the idea of going in and walking around......
Well, though, it's more important to help Sirius crucify Peter's crimes.
Now that he knows the location of the Department of Mysteries, he can teleport over at any time, and it is obviously impossible for these crude anti-phantom manifestation spells of the Ministry of Magic to stop him!
……
Walking down the hallway outside the Department of Mysteries, Tonks led Dracula and Sirius up the stairs to the tenth basement level.
There is no elevator to get here directly.
Compared to the previous floor, the tenth floor looks like an unfinished architectural sketch, and the corridors are made of rough stone walls
There are old-school torches stuck in the brackets.
The doors leading to the courtroom on both sides of the corridor were heavy wooden doors with iron latches and thick keyholes.
Under Tonks' introduction, Dracula learns that there are a total of ten courtrooms in the Wizengamot, and the doors of the courtrooms are opened in different serial numbers, depending on the importance of the pieces.
This time, there were Peter Pedir, the 1st class Merlin Medal recipient, and Sirius Black, the first to escape from Azkaban, so it was only natural that Courtroom 1 was opened.
[In view of the general environment, "This is Courtroom No. 1, so I won't send you in.] Tonks sent Dracula and Sirius to the door of Courtroom One, whispering to them, "I don't dare let Minister Fudge see me."
"Okay, thank you." Dracula nodded slightly, and walked with Sirius into the heavy, open wooden door.
The oppressive atmosphere came to my face.
The walls around Courtroom No. 1 were made of inky black stone, the torches were dimly lit, and on all sides were rows of benches lined up in steps, and from all the seats the central chair with chains was clearly visible.
At this time, Peter was sitting in the chair with a low sob.
