Chapter Seventy-Five: Evasion, though shameful, is useful
"The operation was a success."
Dr. Allen came out of the operating room, took off his mask on his face, and said to Mr. Ansetin with relief, "Little Will is in stable condition, and if nothing else, there should be no accident." β
"Thank God, praise be to the Goddess!"
Mr. Angsettin was immediately overjoyed and excitedly shook Dr. Allen's hand, "Thank you, Dr. Allen, thank you so much!" β
"Looks like the surgery should go well?"
Seeing this, Ember did not come forward to disturb, but greeted Firth, who had also left the operating room, and asked.
"Of course."
Foirth proudly raised his pointed chin, revealing his snow-white and pink neck, "It's just an ordinary minor operation, if I can't even handle this, then I don't need to be a doctor." β
"But you're not a doctor in the first place."
Ember unceremoniously struck back, and said lightly, "And I'm asking about your digestion progress, not surgery." β
The surgery will of course be successful.
Even if Forthth had failed in the operation, that Will Encettin would have been unharmed.
There's no doubt about it, so he's not surprised by that.
"It's okay."
Furth's little face suddenly fell, and he said weakly, "I can feel that the potion should have been digested a little." If you follow this progress, it may not take a month, but you should be able to fully digest it in half a month. β
"Not necessarily."
Ember pondered for a moment and said slowly, "It should be that you performed the operation as Dr. Allen's assistant to speed up the digestion process, so if you can have a few more surgeries, you may not have any hope of completely digesting the potion within a week." β
Before Ember could finish speaking, Furth stared at him with wide eyes.
You want me to die! Why are you torturing me so much?
Do you think surgery is a good thing?
Do you think it's a good experience to face a bloody wound?!
However, Ember ignored her, and instead walked up to Dr. Allen and bluntly said that he hoped that the other party would arrange a few more surgeries for Furth.
Dr. Allen was a little surprised, but he wouldn't refuse, and nodded in response.
As for Will Onsetin, Ember didn't look at him again.
If he looked at it any longer, he was afraid that he would not be able to bear it.
β¦β¦
Four days later, a corner of Raphael's cemetery.
The crowd gathered in front of a new tombstone with a black-and-white photograph of Klein, a bookish one.
His older brothers, Benson and Leonard, and two other colleagues carried his coffin into the grave.
After the priest's eulogy and their respective prayers, the earth began to fill in, and the black coffin was obscured little by little.
The grave was filled in and the slate was covered, and Leonard took one last look at Crane's tombstone, whose epitaph consisted of only one line:
"Pastor, help me back to life, thank you."
Soon, the people attending the funeral left one after another.
Once again, silence returned to the cemetery.
It wasn't until everyone left that two figures suddenly appeared in the cemetery.
"Captain."
Leonard whispered, "I want to join the Red Gloves." β
"Hmm."
Dunn nodded slightly, just gazing at Crane's tombstone with a gentle gaze, and suddenly said, "In two days, let's go to Beckland together." β
"Huh?"
Leonard looked up in surprise.
"Siga is already Sequence 7, and I think she can protect Tingen instead of me."
Dunn lowered his head, letting the haze envelop his eyelids, and said in a deep voice, "As for me, he gave me my life. I'm not a hero, but I can at least avenge him! β
He knew why he was alive.
Because of the ring.
He also knew that Crane must have known what the ring was for, otherwise he wouldn't have taken it seriously and had to put it on for himself.
Results.
He survived, but Crane died.
Dunn knew that he was supposed to be the one who was supposed to be lying here!
If Crane hadn't given that ring to himself, he wouldn't have died.
He died in his place.
Guilt and remorse filled Dunn's heart.
This left him with no face to face Klein's family.
He didn't even dare to attend Klein's funeral with them.
"It's us."
Leonard corrected.
How Dunn survived, the old man had already told him.
If Klein was still alive, he would definitely be tempted to ask about the origin of that ringβ
That's definitely not something that can be explained by a family legacy.
The resurrection from the dead can already be described as a miracle, and even the old man is quite interested in it.
But now, all of this is meaningless.
The only thing he can do now is to find a way to avenge Crane.
It's not just the captain who owes him his life!
Leonard clenched his fists and lowered his head to hide the anger and hatred in his eyes.
"Ince Zangwill!"
Dunn and Leonard stood in silence in front of Klein's tombstone for a long time.
It wasn't until night fell that they quietly left the cemetery.
And what they don't know is.
Shortly after they left, a bronzed Azik appeared at Klein's grave with a bouquet of white flowers.
"I'm sorry, I'm ten minutes late."
"But I should know who it is."
Azk was silent for a long time before he sighed to himself.
He bent down and placed the white flowers in front of the tomb, turned and left the cemetery, and also left Tingen.
The cemetery fell silent again, and only the crimson moonlight illuminated Klein's grave.
Finally, everyone is gone.
A pale hand came out of the dirt.
The slate was pushed open, the coffin lid was pushed open, and Crane sat up, looking around blankly.
He knew he was dead again, and then alive again.
"Huh."
Crane sighed, patted the dirt off his body, and climbed up from his coffin.
Then he restores his grave like a thief, and stands in front of the tombstone and looks at his grave.
It feels a little weird.
"What a waste."
Klein looked at his brand-new tuxedo formal suit, and then at his elaborately carved tombstone, and was heartbroken.
But after the heartache, he began to think about the current situation.
The captain has his own ring, so he should be fine.
The absence of his tombstone in the cemetery is a good proof of this.
Well, the main evidence is actually that the divination told him that the captain was still alive.
In other words, he was the only one who died in the end, which is good......
What a fart!
Crane was speechless.
Originally, everything was over, but there was still an old silver coin stinky and shameless sucking!
Although he was successfully resurrected, who knows how many times he will be resurrected?
Don't dare to tempt.
After all, he wasn't an immortal like Ember.
Although there was no evidence, he could clearly have a hunch that his resurrection was related to the gray mist.
Besides.
He must leave as soon as possible now.
Tingen can't stay anymore -
Coming back from the dead is not so easy to explain.
Especially after dying for several days before suddenly coming back to life.
After all, normal people should be worried about corpses at this time, where can they crawl out of the grave?
Despite the captain's experience, Klein felt that he had better not go back and be scary.
Well, don't test the bottom line of the Church of the Night.
The captain will certainly be cross-examined when he rises from the dead, but there is an explanation for his question-
After all, no one saw him die, and Leonard saw but certainly wouldn't betray the captain.
The heart in the urn had long since dissipated with the wind, and there was no evidence that Dunn had ever died once.
But I'm different, I'm afraid I won't be sliced and studied when I go back.
And so.
After some careful consideration, Klein resolutely decided-
Run.
Escaping, while shameful, is useful!
