Chapter 12: The Fierce War
The weeping dog ranch, a small two-story building that originally belonged to the rancher.
Four or five scruffy cowboys in green scarves or green vests sat around the long table, gobbling up cheese, bread and bacon, the stock of the ranchers who had owned the place, and which had been stored for some time so that the cheese had become slightly stinking and the bread and bacon were dry and hard, but which were undoubtedly delicious to the convicts who had been on the move for many years.
After a while, the fat, bearded man burped loudly, wiped his oily mouth and beard with his oily hands, and got up from his chair.
At this moment, a thin man with a repeating rifle on his shoulder pushed the door into the house, and the fat man looked at him and asked, "Is there any situation?"
"Everything is normal, sir," said the thin man, glancing unconsciously at the food on the table, "that old lady, who was very excited when she heard that she had caught the little girl next to those people last night, and clamored to torture that little girl well."
"Look at that old thing, don't let her mess with me," said the fat man, frowning slightly, "This little girl is a very important hostage, and we can't let an old fellow who has one foot in the coffin spoil our business."
"Understood, Chief." The skinny man nodded, turned to leave.
"Eh, wait," the fat man called out to the thin man, grabbed a piece of bacon and half a piece of cheese from the table, and shoved it into the thin man's hand, "tell everyone outside to put all the tricks on the spot, and report to me immediately if you find any suspicious people or carts, understand?"
"Okay, sir." The skinny man had been hungry for that bite for a long time, and he took the food with a smile, shoved it into his mouth, and turned and walked out of the room.
The fat man watched the thin man leave with a blank expression, and he glanced at the subordinates at the table who didn't seem to have enough to eat, and turned and walked up the stairs to the upper floor.
On the second floor of the small building, there are two high and low beds, and on the bedside table in the middle of the bed, there is a bowl of milk, a piece of cheese and a piece of bacon that has been cold.
Marty was lying on the bottom bunk of one of the beds, one hand locked to the railing of the bed with a crude iron handcuff, and not far away, a man with a double-barreled shotgun and a scar on his face was leaning against the wall, drowsily.
The sight of the fat man going upstairs woke the man, and he immediately straightened up and made the appearance that he was indeed doing his duty.
The fat man glanced at the scar-faced man, then glanced at the little girl lying on the bed, saw a little untouched food on the bedside table, frowned slightly, and asked, "She didn't eat?"
The scar-faced man also looked at the little girl and said, "She said that she had no appetite, and I couldn't persuade her, so I had to leave it there."
The fat man nodded slightly, waved his hand, and said, "Okay, you go down and eat something first, and I'll leave it here."
After the scar-faced man left, the fat man swaggered to the edge of the bed and sat down, looked down at the little girl with her eyes open, and asked, "Not hungry?"
Marty glanced at the fat man and didn't speak.
The fat man picked up the cheese and handed it to Marty, saying, "Eat some, your days are still here, and the people you want to wait for may not come, but it's one thing whether they come or not, and whether you have the energy to wait for them is another, right?" Little girl, you're a smart boy, I mean, you should understand, right?"
On other children, this twist and turn is probably only understood by non-understanding, but Marty understood, so she sat up straight, took the cheese handed by the fat man, and took a small bite.
Seeing that the little girl began to eat, the fat man smiled slightly. He is also a thug who is accustomed to killing people and goods, and he has been involved in the Odrisco gang to such a point, and he has done a lot of things about women and abusing children, but somehow, in the face of this child, he will unconsciously soften his temper.
At this point, Marty suddenly asked, "When did you start being a bad guy?"
Normally, Marty would not have any friendly communication with such people, but she knew in her heart that in this big day
In front of the block, it seemed that even if she said more, she wouldn't be harmed, so she opened her mouth.
"When?" The fat man asked rhetorically, reminiscing slightly, and said, "I can't remember, it was a long time ago."
"Do you still want to be a good person again?" Marty asked again.
"Be a good person again?" The fat man raised his eyes to look at Marty, who didn't look like he was joking, and smiled, "Little girl, there are many kinds of people in this world, but there are only two choices left for people like me, one is a bad person, and the other is a dead person."
"I'm serious," Marty saw that the fat man thought she was joking, so she leaned in a little closer, and said, "If you can let me go and turn myself in, I'll intercede for you, and I have the money to get you a good defense lawyer."
"You little girl, you're very good at talking in your dreams," the fat man laughed even more happily, and said that this was the funniest joke he had heard in all these years, "You know, what I need is not only a good lawyer, a good judge is actually more useful to me, ah, by the way, and to my jury, which is the hardest, because no normal person would speak for a man who has killed a woman or a child."
At this moment, there was the sound of messy footsteps stepping on the stairs downstairs, and the scar-faced man who had been watching Mattie here ran up breathlessly and said to the fat man, "Chief, they ...... They're coming!"
"How many? What does it look like?" The fat man asked.
"Two men, one very young and tall, and the other with a fierce face and a beard." The scar-faced man replied.
"Ah, that's right," the fat man nodded, traits that matched the old lady's two perfectly, "no other accomplices?"
"No, just two people." The scar-faced man replied.
"Hey, self-righteous," the fat man sneered, and then commanded, "You stay here, take care of this little girl, she's an important bargaining chip, understand?"
"Understood, Boss." The scar-faced man nodded in response.
At this time, the main entrance of the weeping dog ranch.
Brandi leisurely lit the cigar in his mouth, and as he shook out the burning match, he glanced at the tall iron tower in the corner of the ranch from time to time, as if waiting for something to happen that no one else knew about.
Maika was staring at the Odrisko gang members in front of him, his hands wandering between the two revolvers around his waist as if intentionally or unintentionally, although he already had the new guns, but one night was not enough for him to fully familiarize himself with them, and using a revolver would ensure that he could shoot as fast as possible.
A short time later, a fat man swaggered out of the cabin, and the sound of pushing the door caught the attention of Brandi and Mika, who turned their eyes to the fat man and watched him walk up to them.
"So, you're in charge here?" Brandi looked at the fat man and said.
The fat man nodded and said, "This is my territory."
"Your men robbed my goods?"
"Yes, but for now, it's ours."
"That little girl, you also sent someone to kidnap her?"
"Exactly."
"Very well, you're open," Brandi asked, smiling slightly, "Is it okay now, little girl?"
"It's much better than you think," the fat man grinned, "You should keep my stuff well, right?"
"You don't have to bother," said Brandy, smiling coldly, "but one thing I'm curious about is who broke the news of us to you, and how do you know where we live?"
The fat man smiled meaningfully and said, "Knowing your characteristics, I can guess where you are likely to settle down, and where did I get the news......
At this moment, there was a sound of hurried footsteps behind the fat man, and after a while, an old lady poked her head out from behind him, and saw Brandi and Maika, she looked bitter and hateful, and scolded through gritted teeth, "Okay, you really dare to come, okay."
Okay, now you're planted in my hands with the old woman, wait, I'm going to tear your flesh off and drink it, you damn bastards......
The scolding old lady was carried away by the two members of the Odrisco gang who arrived later, and Brandi smiled helplessly, saying, "I shouldn't have shown mercy to her men if I knew it."
"In this world, you can't be kind-hearted, young man," said the fat man, as if he was educating his juniors, "You can see that you are very attentive to that little girl, have you thought about it?" What are you going to trade her for?"
Brandi didn't speak, just glanced in the direction of the tower again, and in the distance, it seemed that someone was waving in this direction.
Brandi knew that the time had come, and he didn't plan to engage in those vain negotiations with these Irish Yankees again, after all, he didn't intend to use negotiation to solve the problem, and none of the Odrisco gangs were worthy of pity except for Kieran, who should still be captured at this time.
"yes, that's a question, what to exchange for?" Brandi made a thoughtful expression and paced slowly towards the wooden fence on the side, when suddenly, two Mauser pistols were drawn by him, and the gunshots exploded, and the two bullets knocked the fat man to the ground, "Why don't you trade your lives for it."
When the first gunshot broke the deadlock, Mika's two revolvers, magically pulled out their holsters, and the two gunshots rang out almost in unison, and the two Odrisko gang members next to the fat man had a black hole in the center of their eyebrows, and they fell to the ground almost at the same time.
The sudden gunfire alarmed the rest of the ranch, and after a brief moment of panic, they immediately sought cover, ready to pay the price for the two guys who had taken them by surprise, but in doing so, their backs were exposed to the long barrel scope of the roller locking rifle on the tower.
"Ell, ell, ell," Lenny muttered with his long-barrel scope, pinpointing the back of his head to the head of an O-gang member facing him, "watch out behind you, guys."
A gunshot unlike any of the firearms that was being heard on the battlefield exploded in the back of the heads of the Odrysco gang, and the head of an Austrian gang member who was trying to aim with a repeating rifle was nearly shattered by a powerful bullet.
It wasn't until this point that the Odrisko gang realized that they had fallen into the trap of the other party.
However, they did not panic, the reason is very simple, there are many people, there are many guns, and they still have hole cards that have not been dispatched.
The wooden door to the outside of the attic of the barn was slowly pushed open, and a darkened Maxim machine gun was gradually exposed to the dazzling sunlight.
Brandi fights back with a new gun in his hand as he deals with a hail of enemy bullets. The advantages of these new automatic pistols are their extremely fast rate of fire and more ammunition capacity than revolvers, but they also have the disadvantage that they are far less powerful than single-action revolvers.
Take the fat man who had just been shot twice, both of which hit him in the chest and abdomen, if it had been a revolver, the person who had been shot would have died a long time ago, but this man could still survive, and at this time, he was hiding behind a bunker relatively far from the center of the battle circle, and from time to time he was gasping for breath while firing back symbolically, apparently, those two shots were not enough to make him completely incapacitated immediately.
When Brandi was fighting, he also kept an eye on the closed door in the attic of the tall barn, he used to frequented this place in the game, he knew that there was a Maxim heavy machine gun there, so when the door slowly opened, he immediately noticed the Maxim heavy machine gun that was ready to fire.
"Be hidden!" Brandi yells and rolls on the ground, hiding behind an improvised but sturdy bunker.
Although Maika did not notice the change in the attic of the barn at the first time, he did not dare to hold it up when he heard Brandy's shout, and suddenly jumped up from behind the bunker where he was hiding, and suppressed the enemy with two guns in succession, fighting for himself to switch the gap between the bunkers, and walked in quickly, hiding behind the stables made of logs on the side.
At this moment, the door of the attic of the barn was completely opened, and the dark muzzle of the heavy machine gun immediately erupted into a rain of gunfire, rushing towards the place where the two were hiding
Shoot.
The rain of bullets made the two of them dare not show their heads, and Maika squinted and hid behind the sawdust stable, shouting at Brandi, "Where did these dogs get so many machine guns? Valentine had two of them at the moment, and there was one more here, and they really went to rob the army?"
"Who knows," Brandi replied loudly, "let's split up, you go around from the side and hit them in the side."
"Okay." Maika immediately sprang into action, ran to the back of the two-story building, and began to shoot at the members of the Odrisko gang who were all focused on the front.
The first problem now was to deal with the machine gun, but now that Mika had gone to the side, the pressure was all transferred to Brandy, and the rain of bullets was so dense that he couldn't even look up.
Two shots killed an O's gang member who detoured back to his side, and Brandi had a plan, immediately ripped his throat open, and shouted in a voice he had never heard before, "Lenny~~~~"
"Roger."
By this time, Lenny had moved to the roof of the barn, struck a match, lit the fuse of the explosives in his hand, counted the time, threw it at the heavy machine gun below, and immediately slid down to the roof.
The deafening explosion resounded throughout the battlefield, and several members of the Olympic gang near the barn were almost shocked into their ears, and the explosion gradually died down, and the machine gun sound that had been continuous until a few minutes ago was silenced forever.
"Well done!" Maika shouted, and simply jumped out of cover, not even bothering to aim carefully, only caring about summoning all the bullets in the chamber to the remaining members of the O's gang.
"yes, well done." Brandi smiled slightly, put away the Mauser pistol, and removed the semi-automatic shotgun from his shoulder and held it in his hand.
He suddenly jumped out of cover, the shotgun in his hand spewing smoke and flames, two gunshots in quick succession, and the two heads closest to him were smashed to pieces by the powerful shotguns.
Lenny also walked out from behind the barn, and the two semi-automatic pistols in his hand began to spit out bullets in succession, reaping the lives of the remaining members of the Olympic Gang.
Although the battle turned slightly twisted and turned, overall, Brandi's side had an overwhelming advantage, and the key to their victory was the precise planning in advance, the combat effectiveness that was much above average, and the excellent performance of the new weapon as an addition.
"Damn it......" Behind the barn, the fat man who had been shot twice, and was still bleeding from his chest and abdomen at this time, saw his men dying at the hands of the enemy one by one, and then looked at the three men behind him who were like gods of war, and thought, "Where did these three plague gods come from, we have nearly twenty people, and a heavy machine gun, and they were beaten to the point that they were powerless, damn, I can't die here, I still want to enjoy a few more decades of happy life."
Thinking so, he stumbled open the fence gate, and whistled with all his might, and in a few moments a horse that was clearly frightened by the sound of gunfire and explosions came running, and the fat man turned over to his horse with the pain of his heart, and the horse neighed and ran deep into the primeval forest behind the pasture.
