Chapter 114: Despicable Lockhart
The passage was dark, and Hermione and Ron held their wands to illuminate it, while Harry looked around. Only Lockhart mechanically followed, his white clothes were now covered in mud, his face was pale and gloomy, and he didn't know what he was thinking.
The group made their way through the dark passages, and the muddy ground made a snapping sound with every step. The sound of water droplets is unusually harsh.
"If there is something wrong for a while, just close your eyes and cast a spell." Harry reminded the two of them as he walked
After walking a distance, the bones of various small animals gradually appeared on the ground. This also made everyone anxious, and quickly accelerated the pace.
Turning a corner, the silhouette of a behemoth came into view, lying motionless on a stone platform in the distance.
The four of them immediately remained motionless, Hermione nervously grasping Ron's hand.
Among the several people, Lockhart's performance was the worst. He covered his face with his hands and turned his back.
"Maybe it's asleep," Ron said with a hint of anticipation
No one answered, and everyone clutched their chests, afraid that the rapid heartbeat would wake the monster up.
In the end, it was Harry who grabbed Ron and had the courage to slowly move forward with the fluorescent light. Gradually, a huge, green and bright snake skin appeared in everyone's eyes. Layers of coiled snakeskin are at least fifty feet.
"Oh my God! How big is this?" the trio already knew that the monster was a big snake, and they were somewhat mentally prepared. And Lockhart directly weakened his legs and fell to the ground.
"How are you?" Seeing Lockhart's performance, Hermione's expression was extremely exciting.
"Shh Ron also glanced at him, then turned his head disdainfully, as if he had already thought of such an outcome.
Taking advantage of the fact that everyone was attracted by the snakeskin, Lockhart looked fiercely, quickly got up and stepped forward, and held Hermione hostage. And throw away her wand.
"Bastard! What are you doing! Ron heard the movement and turned around, yelling at the situation.
"What do you mean," Harry said, too, with a cold face
"It's time for the adventure to end, kids—" he smiled again, disgusting
"You want to escape?!" Hermione looked incredulous, "You've written so many amazing things in the book, and now you're running away!" ”
"Honey ~ Books can deceive" Lockhart smiled slyly
"But your stories—" Hermione shouted
"Think about it~ As a reader, would you like to read the deeds of an ugly old wizard in the United States, or the handsome and martial me? Although he saved a village from the dangers of werewolves. Or do you want to hear the story of a witch with a hairy chin? ”
"So you put what other people do into your own account?" Harry's face grew colder
"You seem to be saying it easy!" Lockhart said impatiently, "You know, to make the story more convincing." I'm going to find them first and ask about the detailed resolution process. Then give them an amnesia spell to make sure they forget about it. Thanks to them, I know all about the Oblivion Curse. And the follow-up work is also very heavy, I have to keep signing autographs and taking pictures of fans, I believe you should deeply understand this hardship? ”
"You bastard! I'll kill you! Hermione struggled. It's a pity that I'm too small, and I'm still a girl.
"Alright—it's time for the inquiry to be over. Don't worry, I'll bring this snakeskin back for you. And I will say to them: I'm very sorry! I was late and couldn't save the girl. And when you see her fleshy body, you lose your mind sadly. ”
"Let go of Hermione! You shameless fellow! Ron's heart cracked, and he pulled out his wand excitedly.
"I'll let her go, but only after you've gone mad," Lockhart teased
"You ——!" Ron was on fire. Just as he was about to burn, he suddenly saw Harry winking at him. After thinking calmly for a moment, he returned an understanding look.
"Lockhart!" Harry shouted at the answer, catching his eye. Then he stepped forward and pretended to pull out his wand.
"Say goodbye, Harry! Forget it all—" Lockhart was distracted, waving his wand and shouting at Harry
"Except for your weapons!" Ron seized the opportunity to make a timely move
A flash of red light struck Lockhart, knocking him flying, and his wand came out.
If Ivey is going to complain about Lockhart here, you cast a spell and cast a spell, why do you talk so much nonsense.
"Soul light!" Hermione turned around in some frustration and picked up her wand
"All petrochemicals!"
Lockhart, who had just been knocked out, turned into a stone statue before he could snort a few times.
"Damn it, you hypocrite" Hermione stepped forward and kicked her twice, causing her own foot to hurt.
"Alright, leave him alone" Harry picked up Lockhart's wand and continued to lead the way inside.
The three of them turned one turn after another, and finally came to a stone gate. The door is carved with two intertwined snakes with glittering emeralds in the eyes.
Harry stared at the head of the snake and slowly approached. The carvings of these two snakes are vivid, and the emerald eyes are also flashing.
He knew what to do, didn't hesitate, and cleared his throat
Open
A dull snake whisper rang out, and the two snakes slowly parted, and the stone door retreated into the wall.
The three of them glanced at each other, and Harry swallowed
"Let's go inside"
Behind the door was a very large and empty room. The roof was pitch black, and it was hard to see how high it was. In the center of the room there is a wide, straight hallway that leads to the opposite side. The road is lined with pools of water in which eight serpent statues are arranged symmetrically. At the end of the room was a huge stone wall, the wall was faintly carved into the face of a human face.
"Do you want to go over?" Hermione whispered, "I always had a feeling that the basilisk was going to ambush us in the water"
"Go back to back, squint and be careful," Harry commanded
The three of them leaned together, lined up in a 360-degree lineup with no dead ends, and slowly moved forward.
When I walked to the middle, the stone statue carved at the end became clear. It was an old, monkey-like face. The stubble is sparse, and the thick long hair is meticulous. But it didn't matter, because below the statue, in the part of the pool that was obscured by the serpent pillar, lay a small figure with red hair.
"Ginny!" Harry screamed and hurried over. Hermione and Ron followed
"Ginny! You don't want to die! Please, don't die! Harry shook Ginny's body with force
There was no response, and her head hung lifelessly to the side. His eyes were closed, his face was bloodless, and he was horribly pale. Hermione shook as she took Ginny's hand
"Why is her body so cold~"
"Ginny, please wake up," Ron cried out in a hoarse voice
"She's not going to wake up," came a young, magnetic voice
