6. Untie the shackles
When the screams of the beast rang out, I observed the burning ground beneath my feet. Whatever the three Titans wanted to lay siege to the city, their plans were thrown out the window when all the beasts in their ranks fell, and in the end they themselves came to an end.
My defense is a notch below these first-division managers, as evidenced by the fact that I broke a few bones with a slap from the first manager I took yesterday. However, my offensive skills were unmatched, as after one attack, the damage of the A-rank skills, which were further enhanced by the support skills, destroyed their defenses.
I floated to the burning ground to pick up [the core]. Like yesterday, many of them are A-class cores, as the beasts come from A-class dungeon rest. Yesterday, as I flew over the city, I put the lower-level cores aside, and the last few hours I stood guard in the air, grabbing and absorbing only the higher-level cores.
With the deaths of many beasts here, and the large pile of cores I can see in addition to the three Dead Titans, I should be able to absorb enough energy until my stat reaches the upper limit of 300. With skills that provide additional attributes, mine has broken through to the next ranking after A, what is this ranking? Maybe I'll be a pioneer in discovering this problem
In addition to the core, I found two A-rank skills and three boss items, these two skills are [Spear of Destiny - Dark energy appears in the form of a spear on the hearts of your enemies] and [Hyper Regeneration - As long as your heart is beating and your brain is still working, you will not encounter death]. This item is a piece of purple armor that looks very sturdy, and is called [Commander's Weapon]. I learned skills, equipped armor, and enjoyed a new sense of security after the hard material covered my body.
After that, I returned to the city and met many hunters who were ready to fight. I nodded to Elizabeth and went back with her to the military department to hear the updates they had received so far.
The news was depressing, many people had died, and some cities could not be reached. A monster over the A rank has taken over the country of the United Federation, threatened by a pack of beasts and a terrifying large tortoise, and this tortoise is likely to be of the same rank as the one that appeared in the Federation, its tribe has grown in size and is accelerating towards the Empire.
I listened to all this information and knew what I was going to do from now on. There's no time to waste, so I've used my newfound influence in the city to arrange many things. The first thing was to procure more storage rings, and I found two more Class B and 3 Class C rings from the military stockpile, bringing the total number of storage rings I collected to 5 Class C and 3 Class B.
Half of these rings will be filled with food and necessities, as I plan to leave the city and wander the barren lands, providing aid to any other existing city while marching towards the horde of monsters heading towards us. Professional hunters from the empire will be doing the job in the next few days, but I'll move out first. This responsibility is not so heavy on me, because my strength has made up for it. I know my [focus] blank space is there for a reason, not wasted cleaning up the city's dungeons and entertainment.
I made this clear to the rankers who stood at the top of the city, and their expressions darkened when they heard it. Elizabeth looked at me and said, "We will reinforce and join you on the periphery of the empire." The news indicates that the Horde will reach the periphery in about a week. ”
She spoke firmly, looking me in the eye for the first time in a while. I nodded to her and got moving. I know that the remaining hunters won't sit still when the Empire faces the enemy, but I also don't want to see more people die. However, they will make their own choices, and I can't change that. They will focus on stabilizing the surrounding cities and ensuring that there are no more dungeon prison breaks.
The consensus seems to be that the complete destruction of the dungeon is good, but it must be regulated. They are terrifying designs that bring them a lot of death and suffering, but they also allow more people to become stronger when they are repeatedly removed. Some will be destroyed, while others that can be easily cleared will be left behind.
It was a full 3 hours before I was ready to leave. During that time, I picked up more B-level skills from the military list, as well as those that I hadn't learned yet. The newly acquired skills are mainly to further increase my damage and defense.
They are [Stronger Fire Penetration], [Burning Soul], and [Elemental Warlock], which respectively reduce the enemy's fire resistance, burn the enemy's core with flames, and deal more damage when using elemental-based skills. [Hardware], [Diamond Skin], and [Elemental Mirror] all further enhance my defenses, and if I hadn't maintained active skills like [Invisible] and [Shadow Veil] that hide all of the iridescent colors and effects, my body would look like it had disappeared from this world.
The rest of the time is spent cramming the storage ring with all sorts of food I've prepared, from my favorite steaks to non-perishable foods that last more than two weeks.
After that, gloomy military funerals were held for the death of many soldiers and vice admirals who risked their lives in the city. Lieutenant General Magner, a particularly commended soldier, has created a huge vacancy that will not be filled anytime soon.
When it was all done and I was ready to go, I was met by a platoon of soldiers and hunters who sent me away. I will soon encounter them again as they begin to march towards the Beast Horde, and I don't know who will be lucky enough to come out alive from that battle
When I flew away, Elizabeth was at the forefront and only told me to be safe and wait for the enemy before going head-to-head. I couldn't begin to understand what she was thinking, and I myself couldn't have the luxury of emotionally going off topic. Who knows, maybe when it's all over, I'll put in the time.
I flew out of Star City and headed out into the desolate wasteland, where monsters roam freely. Dungeons will not only appear in cities, they will be spread all over the land. Those who appear outside the city will have dungeon breaks, allowing monsters to roam freely. There are specialized hunter squads that regularly hunt down monsters in the barren land before they reach the walled city. This time I'll act like a one-man squad and take down anything that comes my way
The ultimate goal at the end of this journey is to kill and plunder this ridiculously giant sea turtle among hundreds of thousands of beasts. I carry around with me top-notch skills that have been boosted multiple times as support skills have been kept active. Are they enough to lower something of a higher level?
