Chapter 63 Traverser, Emperor Chongzhen of the Ming Dynasty

The Forbidden City, Beijing, the Ming Imperial Palace.

Inside the Qianqing Palace.

"Commander Luo, I order you to immediately send the master of the Jinyi Guard to infiltrate the Manchu Shengjing and assassinate the Emperor Taiji, and in addition, assassinate these Manchu generals."

Emperor Chongzheng ordered.

"Obey the order!" Jin Yiwei commanded Luo Yangxing to take the order and leave.

Let's say that this Emperor Chongzheng is a traverser, the real Chongzhen was killed by Wei Zhongxian a long time ago, and he took that opportunity to cross into this body.

As an expert on the Ming Dynasty, he is very clear about the history of the Ming Dynasty's reverence.

。。。。。。。

。。。。。。。

Zhu Youzhen was born on February 6, 1611, the word Deyo, the sixteenth emperor of the Ming Dynasty, he is the fifth son of Zhu Changluo of Mingguangzong, the half-brother of Zhu Youxiao of Ming Xizong, and his mother is the Empress Xiaochun Liu. The year name Chongzhen is commonly known as "Emperor Chongzhen".

In the second year of the Apocalypse (1622), Zhu Youzhen was awarded the title of king. Five years later, Xizong collapsed without an heir, and Zhu inherited the throne by the edict of Zhenfeng and changed to Yuan Chongzhen. At the beginning of his accession to the throne, he eliminated the eunuch Wei Zhongxian and his henchmen (eunuchs), was diligent in political affairs, practiced frugality, and tried to realize the "Zhongxing" of the Ming Dynasty. He appointed Yuan Chonghuan to deal with the Later Jin regime that seized Liaodong, and the Later Jin not only did not weaken, but also invaded the Sai Nei in the winter of the second year of Chongzhen (1629), surrounded Beijing, although evacuated, but then entered the Sei five times to plunder, and successively conquered the Ming army strongholds such as Dalinghe, Songshan, and Jinzhou outside the Shanhai Pass. Natural disasters in Shaanxi and Henan in the Ming Dynasty led to peasant uprisings at the end of the Ming Dynasty, and the Ming court suppressed inappropriately, resulting in Li Zicheng and Zhang Xianzhong.

Zhu Youzhen frequently changed cabinet assistants, successively killed Yuan Chonghuan and other 18 feudal officials, and used Hong Chengchou, Yang Sichang, Lu Xiangsheng, Sun Chuanting, etc. to solve internal and external troubles, but ultimately failed. In the seventeenth year of Chongzhen (1644), Li Zicheng came to Beijing, and Zhu Youzhen hanged himself in Coal Mountain (now Jingshan). After the Qing army entered the customs, he went to the temple to be called Huaizong (later cancelled), and was called Qin Tianshou Dao Min Yi Dun Jian Hongwen Xiang Wu Ti Ren Zhi Xiao Zhuang Lieduan Emperor (later changed to Emperor Zhuang), and was buried in Siling. The Southern Ming Hongguang regime was called Sizong (later changed to Yizong), and the name was Shaotian Yidao, Gangming, Ke Jian, Wen Fen Wu Dun Ren, Mao Xiaolie Emperor. The Longwu regime changed the temple name to Weizong.

Zhu Youzhen called himself "the king of the country who died of the country", and blamed the death of the country on "the mistakes of the ministers", and later generations also sympathized and affirmed him. However, there are also opinions that Zhu Youzhen is talented and sparse, has character defects such as rigidity and self-use, impatience and suspicion, and bears unshirkable responsibility for the death of the Ming Dynasty.

On December 24, the 38th year of Wanli (February 6, 1611), Zhu Youzhen was born in Ciqing Palace, the Forbidden City, Beijing, and was the fifth son of the then crown prince Zhu Changluo. [11-12] His mother, the lady Liu (Empress Xiaochun), was not favored, and when Zhu Youzhen was five years old, Liu died after being scolded by Zhu Changluo. Zhu Youzhen was raised by Li Xuanzhi (Xi Li, later Feng Kangfei). Soon, Li Xuanzhi gave birth to a royal daughter and had no time to raise Zhu Youzhen, so Zhu Youzhen was raised by another Li Xuanzhi (Dong Li, later Feng Zhuang Concubine) (one said that he was raised by Dong Li after the palace transfer case).

On the fourth day of the fifth month of the forty-third year of Wanli (1615), a man named Zhang Cha broke into Zhu Changluo's residence Ciqing Palace with a wooden block, and was quickly subdued. Officials from the Donglin Party believed that Zheng Guifei was behind the instigation, and Zhang Cha also confessed that he was instructed to enter the palace by Zheng Guifei's eunuchs Pang Bao and Liu Cheng when he was interrogated by the Three Law Divisions. Under the repeated pressure of the ministers, Zhu Yijun, who had lived in the palace for many years and had not seen the ministers, in order to block the mouth of the Donglin Party, personally went to the Cining Palace on the morning of May 28 to pay homage to the Empress Dowager Li, and then summoned the ministers together with Zhu Changluo, and led three imperial grandsons (Zhu Youxiao, Zhu Youji, and Zhu Youzhen) and one imperial granddaughter from the left and right steps to the stone steps, so that the ministers were familiar with them, so as to show that they had no intention of easy storage. At this summons, Zhu Yijun also took down Liu Guangfu, the imperial historian who went out to speak "the emperor is extremely benevolent and the prince is extremely benevolent and filial", in public, and gave him a court staff. Subsequently, the attack case ended with the execution of Zhang Cha, Pang Bao, and Liu Cheng. [15] This summoning was also Zhu Youzhen's first public appearance, and it is said that when he summoned his ministers after becoming emperor, he asked Jinyiwei to be ready to take people at any time.

In the forty-eighth year of Wanli (1620), Zhu Youzhen's grandfather Zhu Yijun and father Zhu Changluo died one after another, and his brother Zhu Youxiao ascended the throne. As the only living younger brother of Zhu Youxiao, Zhu Youzhen was canonized as King Xin on September 22, the second year of the Apocalypse (1622). [17] However, Zhu Youzhen did not leave the cabinet immediately, but lived in the Miaoqin Palace behind the Ciqing Palace in the Forbidden City. [14]

When he was a teenager, Zhu Youzhen liked to read, and he was not smiling, he often meditated and recuperated, sat upright, and did not see the attendant if he was not neatly dressed. The attendant who accompanied him didn't dare to read aloud, so he scolded him sharply: "Reading is a good thing, but it's shy; If you sing a song, aren't you shy? ”

The prince of the Ming Dynasty did not have a special master before leaving the cabinet, so when Zhu Youzhen encountered a word he didn't understand, he consulted books such as "Hongwu Zhengyun", "Hai Chapter Zhiyin" and "Rhyme Small Supplement". He is not a simple house, often privately visit the Beijing market, buy goods, and observe the people's feelings, so he is clear about the prices, and after taking the throne, he has repeatedly exposed the lies of the procurement eunuchs who say high prices.

On November 12, 1625, Zhu Youxiao issued an edict to select a princess for King Xin, and in April of the following year, construction of King Xin's palace began in Beijing. On May 19, the sixth year of the Apocalypse (1626), the Ministry of Rites reported that there were a total of 77 virgins waiting to be selected in the five cities and two counties of Shuntianfu (Daxing and Wanping). On June 21, Empress Zhang, who presided over the selection of concubines, chose her as the princess of Xin because of the daughter of Zhou Kui, a citizen of Daxing County.

After the Qin Tianjian elected the auspicious day, Zhu Youzhen moved out of the palace on November 25 in the sixth year of the Apocalypse (1626), and performed the crown ceremony at noon on the eighth day of December (the tenth day of the first month of December), and the book was collected and issued on the sixteenth day of December, and the bed was made on the twenty-first day of December 21, and the face was opened on the twenty-seventh day of the first month of the seventh year of the Apocalypse (1627), and the third day of the first month of February was opened to welcome the marriage.

In April, Zhu Youxiao considered building a new palace in the capital, but Li Yongzhen, the eunuch and eunuch, requested that the palace of King Hui in the capital be repaired so that King Xin could live. Probably in view of the lack of treasury and the cost of King Rui, King Hui, and King Gui going to the vassal state, Zhu Youxiao approved his request. Because Li Yongzhen was full of private pockets, the buildings and appliances of the Xinwang Mansion were extremely simple.

During the period when Zhu Youzhen was the king of letters, the internal and external situation in the Ming Dynasty was treacherous. Zhu Youxiao's close confidant eunuch Wei Zhongxian united with the Qi, Chu, Zhejiang and other friends of the DPRK to defeat the Donglin Party and take control of the government. Externally, facing the threat of the rise of the Later Jin, although the Later Jin was blocked by Yuan Chonghuan in Ningyuan, the border defense was still tight. In the southwest, the Lu'an Rebellion broke out, which can be described as a large base in the suburbs.

As a vassal king, Zhu Youzhen could not participate in political affairs, but he also had to be careful to protect himself.

Under Wei Zhongxian's obstruction, he had very few opportunities to meet Zhu Youxiao, and even if he did, he could hardly speak.

He was also almost involved in Wei Zhongxian's conspiracy. It is said that Wei Zhongxian had sent an assassin to assassinate Empress Zhang at that time, and was discovered by Zhu Youxiao and transferred to the factory health review office, Wei Zhongxian, who was in charge of the East Factory, planned to use this assassin to frame Zhang Guoji, the father of Empress Zhang, to "seek to establish the letter of king", so as to abolish the empress and build a prison, but his comrade Wang Tiqian thought that Zhu Youxiao had a deep affection for Empress Zhang and Zhu Youzhen, and this move would not succeed, so Wei Zhongxian killed the assassin to kill him, and did not affect Zhu Youzhen. Zhu Youzhen saw the disadvantages of eunuchs taking power, and when he read history and read about the ten permanent servants, Dong Zhuo, Cao Cao, etc., he would "pick up his teeth".

He especially hated Wei Zhongxian's dictatorship, and lamented that "the imperial brother is too loyal and deceitful (Wei Zhongxian)". However, he never showed his dislike for Wei Zhongxian, Wei Zhongxian was also afraid when he saw him, and often sent his henchmen to Zhu Youzhen to send some untimely flowers and fruits, Zhu Youzhen ostensibly rewarded them with generous rewards, but not only did he not like these flowers and fruits, but also took the opportunity to secretly remember Wei Zhongxian's henchmen.

He is also concerned about the border situation. In the first month of the seventh year of the Apocalypse (1627), Zhu Youxiao gave him 6,300 taels of silver for the land rent of Baodi and other counties to which Jingwangfu belonged and the land rent of the Tuohe. Zhu Youxiao was moved by Zhu Youjian's sincere heart to share the country's worries, and took back his life to fulfill his wish. But then he gave Zhu Youzhen the land rent left by King Ru and King Fu for support, and showed his "intimacy", and Zhu Youzhen resigned again.

Succession to the throne except castration

After Zhu Youjian went out of the palace to live, he received 3,000 stone of rice and 10,000 yuan of money every year, and waited for the country of the vassal (to go to the fief). But in August of the seventh year of the Apocalypse (1627), Zhu Youxiao became terminally ill and left no heirs. On August 11, Zhu Youxiao summoned the fifth brother of the emperor to enter the palace. Zhu Youxiao lay on the sickbed and said to Zhu Youzhen: "My brother should be Yao Shun." Zhu Youzhen was terrified and said: "Your Majesty said this, the minister should die!" Zhu Youxiao then asked him to treat Empress Zhang and Wei Zhongxian well, and Zhu Youzhen was even more frightened and asked to leave the palace. Zhu Youxiao said that after summoning Zhu Youzhen, he was "very happy and felt a little calmer". [

On August 22, the seventh year of the Apocalypse (1627), Zhu Youxiao died in the Qianqing Palace. Wei Zhongxian's eyes were swollen from crying, and he discussed countermeasures with his henchmen. It is said that Wei Zhongxian intended to stand on his own, but was dissuaded by Cui Chengxiu, the secretary of the Ministry of War, and someone else proposed to make the palace concubine pretend to be pregnant, and lead Wei Liangqing's son into the palace to take over the throne, assisted by Wei Zhongxian, just like "Xin Mang is to the child of the child". Wei Zhongxian thought that his words were reasonable, so he sent someone to hint at Empress Zhang, but Empress Zhang refused. When Wei Zhongxian learned of Empress Zhang's solemn attitude, he was helpless and no longer forced her, so he had to send his cronies and eunuchs Tu Wenfu and Wang Chaofu to take Zhu Youzhen into the palace.

At the same time, the cabinet drafted an edict, which stated that "the fifth brother of the emperor believes that the king is smart and dreamy, benevolent and filial piety, and the text of the elder brother and the last brother of the "ancestral teaching", Pi Shaolun preface, that is, the emperor's throne". Under the admonition of Empress Zhang, Zhu Youzhen brought his own wheat rice into the palace, did not eat the food in the palace, and maintained a high degree of vigilance against everything in the palace. At night, Zhu Youzhen sat alone with a candle, and happened to see a little eunuch passing by with a sword, and immediately called to him, asked for his sword, examined it carefully, promised to give him a reward, and left the sword on his desk. When he heard the sound of the night watchman in the palace hitting the wooden bon, he got up and went to comfort, and turned back to ask the left and right attendants how to give wine and food, and the attendant replied that Guanglu Temple was in charge, so Zhu Youzhen ordered Guanglu Temple to prepare wine and food, and gave it to the people on duty in the palace to watch the night, and there was a tide of joy for a while. For Wei Zhongxian, Zhu Youzhen also "repeatedly gave warm words, music and comfort" to calm his heart.

After three persuasions of civil and military officials, Zhu Youzhen put on the crown on August 24 and offered sacrifices to heaven and earth, that is, the emperor is located in the Huangji Hall (one says the Zhongji Palace), changed the Yuan Chongzhen, and suddenly thundered during the enthronement ceremony (one said that it was not Tianming but the royal horse Qiming).

After Zhu Youzhen ascended the throne, he "took charge of the power program, and the world wanted peace", and the first major thing he accomplished was to eradicate Wei Zhongxian and the "eunuch" clique that depended on him. At the beginning of Zhu Youzhen's accession to the throne, he still treated Wei Zhongxian and his henchmen like Zhu Youxiao, and those who should be rewarded were still rewarded, and those who should be crowned officials were still crowned officials. Wei Zhongxian, on the contrary, felt uneasy, so he paid homage to Xu Yingyuan, the eunuch of the Imperial Palace, and presented him with rare treasures, and became brothers[48] , and wrote a letter on the first day of the ninth month begging to resign from the post of admiral of Dongchang in order to test the truth. As a result, Zhu Youzhen not only did not approve it, but also persuaded him with kind words and comforted him.

Two days later, Zhu Youzhen allowed Wei Zhongxian's wife to leave the palace and live in a private mansion. Wei Zhongxian wrote a letter begging to be exempted from 30,000 gold of funeral wax from the household department, and Zhu Youzhen immediately agreed. On the fourth day of the first lunar month, Wang Tiqian, the eunuch in charge of the celebrant and the seal, asked for his resignation, but Zhu Youzhen refused to allow it.

On September 25, Wei Zhongxian wrote a letter begging to stop the construction of the ancestral hall for him, and Zhu Youzhen approved the previous ancestral hall to be kept as before, and no longer to be newly repaired, and praised Wei Zhongxian for "meritorious service, but also the beauty of Lao Qian". In October, Zhu Youzhen gave Wei Zhongxian, Wang Tiqian and other officials (giving their family members the official position of Jinyiwei) in the name of the "Praise Xiang Ceremony" (assisting in the completion of the enthronement ceremony) and the Dongjiang War Exploits (Mao Wenlong's military exploits in the Battle of Ding Mao). By rewarding Wei Zhongxian, Wang Tiqian and their henchmen, their doubts were dispelled to a certain extent, and they were also paralyzed.

The campaign to eradicate Wei Zhongxian began with infighting among the "eunuchs". On 16 September, Yang Suoxiu, a member of the "Eunuch Party," impeached Cui Chengxiu and others, but Zhu Youzhen instead "blamed them for slandering"; On 14 and 19 October, Yang Weiyuan, another member of the "eunuch party," was impeached twice for various crimes against Cui Chengxiu.

Cui Chengxiu was uneasy and asked to go home to keep the system, and Zhu Youzhen approved his request on October 21.

After the fall of Choi Chengxiu, Wei Zhongxian became the next target of impeachment. Since October 23, Lu Chengyuan, Qian Yuanyu, Qian Jiazheng and others have successively impeached and impeached Wei Zhongxian [48], especially the tribute student Qian Jiazheng's rhetoric was the most intense, listing ten "heinous crimes" of "merging the emperor", "contemptuous queen", "making soldiers", "undivided ancestors", "cutting feudal feuds", "no saints", "indiscriminate lords", "covering the border", "the people", and "connecting with the joints". When Wei Zhongxian learned of this, he cried bitterly in front of Zhu Youzhen, and even cried out for wrongdoing. Zhu Youzhen was unmoved, and ordered the chamberlain to recite Qian Jiazheng's recital, so that Wei Zhongxian could listen to it with his own ears, and Wei Zhongxian was "shocked and frightened".

After that, Wei Zhongxian asked for his resignation on the grounds of physical discomfort. Xu Yingyuan originally started in the Xinwang Mansion and colluded with Wei Zhongxian, but seeing that Wei Zhongxian was about to lose power, he also asked for recuperation, and Zhu Youzhen took the opportunity to approve Wei Zhongxian and Xu Yingyuan to go home to recuperate. On the first day of November, after everything was ready, Zhu Youzhen officially issued an order to announce Wei Zhongxian's crime to the world, demote Wei Zhongxian to the ancestral mausoleum in Fengyang to manage the incense, and the Hakka family sent it to the Huanyi Bureau for management. When Wei Zhongxian went out of Beijing, he brought a large number of retinues, and his majesty was undiminished. On the 4th day of the first day of November, Zhu Youzhen ordered Wei Zhongxian to be arrested in Beijing on the grounds that he had "killed a vegetarian animal, armed with a fierce blade, and surrounded by countless people, and was like a rebel." Wei Zhongxian, who traveled to Fucheng, learned of this intention in advance from Li Chaoqin, a member of the "eunuch party", and the two of them drank bitterly and hanged themselves. [Hakka was killed with a rod, and Cui Chengxiu also hanged himself.] Subsequently, Zhu Youzhen recalled the eunuchs to various places to redress the unjust prison that persecuted the Donglin Party in the last years of the Apocalypse, destroyed the "Three Dynasties Classics", and condemned Wei Zhongxian and other 255 people as "rebels". The people of the time commented that this move was "silent, subtle, not heroic, why is this".

。。。。。。。

。。。。。。。

I traveled to this world by myself, and I am an emperor again, although according to history, my result is to be hanged.

However, the traverser Emperor Chongzheng had the confidence to turn the tide and save the Ming Dynasty from danger.

He set himself three goals:

The first is to let Jinyiwei assassinate Huang Taiji and other Manchu emperors and important ministers, the Ming Dynasty did not use the power of Jinyiwei U, East Factory, and West Factory, which is a big mistake and must be corrected.

The second is to let those loyal ministers enter the cabinet, which is very easy to do, and he has a clear list of the courtiers who were martyred together after Chongzhen hanged himself.

The third is to use his identity as a traverser to create a more powerful defensive cannon and a stronger city wall.

Of course, this traverser is not as thrifty and self-disciplined as the emperor Chongzhen back then, he finally crossed over to become an emperor, can he not enjoy the privilege of being an emperor?

The eunuch Wang Chengen was loyal to him, so externally, he was still a thrifty and diligent emperor who was not good at beauty, but secretly he let Wang Chengen choose a lot of exotic beauties for his own enjoyment.

。。。。

After finishing his business, Chongzheng walked into the study, there was an eagle-shaped statue in the upper right corner of the desk, held down the eagle's head and turned it, a secret door opened behind the study chair, entered the secret passage, walked a few hundred meters along the secret passage, a huge iron door appeared, Chongzheng opened the iron door with a key, and a huge underground secret room appeared inside, this secret door can only be opened by him, even the queen does not know, it can be seen that the scheming of this traverser Chongzhen is deep.

Entering the secret room, there is a group of beautiful and seductive dancing girls, including charming women from the Western Regions, as well as pure and lovely stunning beauties with small jasper. Here are all kinds of beauties, this Chongzheng only marries a few concubines to the outside world, but under the study here, the golden house hides Jiaojiao.

Entering the largest inner room, I saw a tall, unusually plump woman lying on the bed, her face was like a hibiscus, her eyebrows were like willows, her eyes were more charming than peach blossoms, her skin was like snow, her black hair was pulled into a high beauty bun, her bright red lips were slightly raised, and she was wearing a black vest with a low neckline and a hollow waist.

"This traverser is really happy", Chongzheng couldn't wait to enter the room。。。。。。 *
