Chapter 332: Finding the Target
The dwarves struggled to keep their balance, and though they were used to it, the shaking was so violent that even they couldn't stand up.
She didn't see Rom, but she did see Glinda, the female dwarf struggling. A narrow crack appeared in the ground between them, and hot, high-pressure gases gushed out, and the warriors had to choose to retreat.
From this crack, from other crevices that suddenly appeared, some strange figure climbed up.
A body composed of burning rocks.
Huge circles of light surround them, and they approach the struggling dwarves like manipulated puppets. Their silhouettes have human features, but they lack more detail, which makes them even more intimidating.
"Undead!" Glinda shouted.
"They're not an act of God," she continued, adding, "they're a bunch of walking dead!"
They are a group of threats that no one dares to face head-on. Whoever the owner of this mountain is, his or her power is so terrifying that he or she can summon such a terrifying creature. A dwarven warrior slashed at the nearest fire elemental, his axe melting, and he had to drop his weapon to prevent the flames from eating his hand.
The fire elemental swung its fiery arm at breakneck speed, smashing into the dwarf's head. The dwarf let out only a brief scream - he died cleanly. But his decapitated corpse made all the living dwarves gasp.
"We can't fight them! there are too many of them, and our weapons don't work!" Glinda looked around. "Where's Rom? It's time for him to give the order to retreat!"
In fact, she didn't want to retreat. Glinda gathered her bow and arrows, clenched her sword, and charged to the nearest target.
The blade sliced lightly through the fire elemental's soft and fiery body. Ronin had feared that Winlessa might encounter some magical creatures, so he gave her weapons the mana to deal with these threats. The servants of the earth broke apart and crumbled in two, and the stumps that had fallen to the ground were still trying to move.
She breathed a sigh of relief and continued to attack the next sluggish target. At the same time, Glinda is also reassessing their chances of victory, there are too many fire elementals.
Although she asked to retreat, it did not mean that she would flee in a hurry. She is a loyal warrior, and retreating also needs to wait for Roma's orders, before that. She continued to fight, despite the fact that the dwarven weapons were difficult to deal effective damage to her enemies.
To make matters worse, there are more and more fire elementals. Winlessa realizes that they are gradually surrounding the dwarves. These fire elementals don't seem to intend to wipe them out, but to bring them together.
They want to capture us alive!, the High Elves realized in surprise, but why?
In fact. She was in no mood to find the answer now, knowing that her weapon might be the only hope for the commando to win, she jumped over the rift between her and Glinda and ordered, "Gather everyone behind me as much as possible, and I'm going to make a way!"
"But Rom! I can't find him!"
"We can't wait for him!" Winlessa knew how much this sentence would hurt Glinda, who had been fighting with Rom for so long. But she knew there was no choice.
Glinda followed her instructions and ordered the others. The dwarves gathered behind Weensa, their axes and swords doing their best to stop the approach of the fiery foes. Winlessa swung her sword and slashed one target after another. The melted limbs were torn apart, and the flying flames fell on her breastplate and almost on her face, but Winlesa was undaunted, and with her efforts, she finally began to clear a pathway.
But the ground began to shake again, and another crack appeared in the ground in front of her. Several fire elementals fell into the rift, but this did little to turn the tide of the battle, as the path for the warriors to rush and kill was blocked again.
"We have to go east!" She shouted. But just as she turned to that side, the Dark-Palate and the Egg Protector joined the assault team. Leading the pack was a strangely shaped dragonman, apparently the one that Rom called Lasker. Winlessa tried to shoot her bow and arrow at its throat, but there was no chance.
"If you want to live, lay down your arms!" The dragonman roared, and he gestured to the flame soldiers: "Keep fighting, it's your fate......"
There's no room for Wiemlessa to wield her sword anymore, and neither are the dwarves, who are no longer able to use their weapons effectively.
They were dead, the High Elves were convinced, and she looked at Glinda. That's what she thought, too. If, as Lasker said, there are only two choices now, to live, there is hope......
"Lay down your weapons. Glinda ordered. The other dwarves had no objection to this.
Winlessa threw away her sword. She prayed that this choice would not just make them die happily.
At the same time that the commandos surrendered, the fire elementals collapsed. They took the form of liquid, flowing back into the crevices of the rocks under the gaze of the startled dwarves.
The Dark-Palate and Egg Protectors rushed forward, some of them eager to snatch the weapons of their dwarven cousins, hissing or gnashing their teeth. It's as if they're hungry.
One wanted to get Winlessa's sword, but Lasker drank it back.
"This is mine," the draconian declared, weighing the Ronin weapon, "delicately balanced...... and for the others, Lasker ordered "the mistress to take them to the cave below......
They had always wanted to go deeper into Grimbaatar, and now that wish had come true, albeit in a very different way than they would have liked. Winresa was both disgusted and amazed by the power of the mistress in the dragon's mouth. The existence of those flame slaves must have something to do with the black dragon. Is it Onexia, the daughter of Deathwing? Obviously impossible, Ronin has confirmed that the female dragon has become the dust of history based on information obtained from various sources. But what other dragon could lead such an army of dragons and egg protectors? Lasker had just mentioned "Mistress", which ruled out the possibility of Deathwing and Nefaryan.
Father, son, daughter......
Where is the mother?
Wen Lesa suddenly regretted that she should not have chosen to surrender. In her concept, the only spouse who can lurk in Grimbaatar's Deathwing could only be: Xinaisaraya.
She didn't expect the dwarves to be rewarded with the mercy of the mad Earth Guard.
Winlessa quietly pulled out a dagger hidden in her breastplate, which was only enough to deal with enemies at close range. She hoped to create some unrest, and perhaps some of the captives might have some faint hope of escape.
But her own sword, captured by the dragonmen, suddenly pressed close to her throat, and the fiery weapon made her break out in a cold sweat.
"Hand over the dagger or take off your head," Lasker said with a laugh, "choose one......
The warrior threw away the dagger. A dark-palate monster picked it up, and shrewdly offered it to the leader of the dragonmen. "Wise," Lasker said, tucking the weapon back into the scabbard at his waist.
The captives were taken to the cave.
But the dragonmen's capture still missed a single person. Elidi couldn't do much to Winlessa and the others, and although she had climbed off the stone to make a move, she eventually realized that she had to be patient if she wanted to make a difference.
The priestess looked around, there was a hole in the distance, and it would be unsafe to climb, but it was her best chance to enter the mountain.
Disbanding the staff, Elidi flew up the wall like a spider, she had no illusions about her chances, and the evil they faced was even more terrifying than the blood elf, dozens of times more than she could have imagined. Now it's all counting on her. From the very beginning of the journey, she felt that there would be a moment when she needed to make a decisive choice, and that the time had come.
Crassus, Karek, Winlessa, and the dwarves were all taken prisoner. There was no doubt that she had to choose to save some of them first, and as Winlessa hinted, Crassus might be the best option.
And when Elidy reached the mouth of the cave, she was sure that she had finally found the Void Dragon she had been looking for since the beginning...... (To be continued.) )
