Chapter 259: Medium Scheme

Khadgar walked slowly down the hallway, expanding his senses to study the area ahead. He knew that the ogre was still there, but it didn't seem like he was doing anything—no spells, no rituals. He was just waiting.

Waiting for Khadgar's arrival.

The end of the walkway is just in front of the tower. Khadgar walked in. The room he entered was tall, but also strangely structured, as if it had been carved out of something rather than built by human power. At the other end stood a strange chair, made from a cobblework of gigantic bones—he shuddered as he wondered what kind of beast could have such a specimen. Its tall backrest almost touched the vaulted ceiling above. The gloomy light of the torches flickered on both sides. But the throne was empty.

"My master is gone," a deep voice came as a massive figure emerged from the shadows, stopping Khadgar. Sure, Khadgar had seen the Ogre before, but it was hordes of ogres on the battlefield, and he was standing in the distance with the other mages. It was the first time he had been so close to an ogre. When he goes up...... As he looked up again, he began to inhale heavily. The creature's head almost touched the ceiling, and its deep eyes gleamed with wisdom despite its savage appearance.

Then he understood what it was saying, and felt a hint of gratitude for the ring. It was the ring that allowed him to understand other languages. "Left?"

The ogre laughed, his teeth small and sharp, and his canine teeth surprisingly large. "That's right. He replied. "He's been gone for a while. Now he is on his way to the ceremony. And your alliances are still fighting us here. The creature made a face. Bite your chin tightly. "We may die here, but our sacrifice will ensure that the Horde will survive and conquer other worlds endlessly. ”

"!" Khadgar cursed. He had already understood what had happened: the orcs had tricked them! they had let the Alliance attack so lightly, just so that Naozu could escape. "Still, if we're fast enough, we can still catch up with them. He defiantly told the ogre.

"You can," the ogre agreed. "But first, you've got to get past me first. It raised its hands. Each hand was bigger than Khadgar's head. Its hands began to glow with a disgusting green light, as if seeping through its skin. "I'm Ascendant, from the Shadowmoon Clan. ”

In that case, it will be a glorious duel. "Khadgar, from Dalaran. Khadgar raised his staff, and a bright violet light began to emanate from its tip.

The ogre bowed awkwardly and began to attack. Its two large hands struck forward, as if to push Khadgar backwards. Green light poured out of its hands, and the wave of energy looked like it was about to envelop and crush the human mage. Khadgar raised his staff, and the purple light grew stronger. Green light waves spread out in front of him. Gradually dissolves into nothingness.

Next it was Khadgar's turn. He pointed his staff at the ogre's chest. The violet light stabbed forward, stabbing at the ogre's heart. But Ascend waved the light aside with his hands. And his hands still glow green, protecting him from any negative influences.

"We're evenly matched," the ogre commented, clapping his hands. As it spread its hands, darkness rolled like a tidal wave, engulfing the room.

"Maybe," Khadgar replied. When darkness fell, he didn't move. Within seconds, he was gone, like everything, from sight. His other senses were still able to help him find the ogre's location. Khadgar waited a little longer, holding still, then slammed his staff into the floor. The wand's shockwave cleared the darkness like a shattered black mirror, leaving tiny shards on the floor, and the ogre was knocked to the ground. The impact from the climb to the ground was almost identical to the shock wave just now. The ogre groaned in pain. ...

Khadgar quickly closed the distance between the two. The light around his staff grew until it became a solid pillar of light, and though it still had violet hues, it was too bright. He slammed the staff around the purple light against the ogre's throat. The tower screamed, and the top of the staff was scorched with flesh everywhere it went.

It wasn't magic that saved the ogre's life, but an instinctive attack. He pushed Khadgar away and managed to stand up, still with a burning black mark on his neck. Ascend roared, bared his fangs, and rushed towards Khadgar with his head down. But the human mage stepped across and dodged his attack. Just as the ogre rushed over, Khadgar swung his sword, slashing through the ogre's upper arm.

Ascendant's roar of rage turned into a wail of pain. Green light came out of his hand once more, though this time the light kept fluttering, and there were dots of scarlet light flickering in it. Ascend raised his hands again, letting the energy flood them, until they finally formed a ball made entirely of magic, and the power of hatred churned through it. With all his strength, he threw the orb at Khadgar.

Khadgar calmly watched the rapidly approaching orb, then drew his own sword from its scabbard. He held out his hand, palm facing outward. The ball of light touched his ** and struck him straight into the palm of his hand - and then it vanished into nothingness, completely absorbed by Khadgar.

"Thank you," he said to the startled ogre. "Now I feel much better. He stomped forward with a slight concussion, causing the tower to fall again. The ogre fell to his knees heavily and lowered his head. He knew that his enemies were much stronger than his own. Khadgar didn't want to disgrace him anymore. He lifted his sword and swung it downward, slashing with all his might into the ogre's exposed neck. The mage took a step back, watching as flesh and bones were cleanly separated. The ogre's head rolled on the ground, leaving a pool of blood.

At that moment, he held his breath and looked around the throne room. Although he already knew that what Dengta said was true. He looked down at the ogre's corpse and nodded, feeling satisfied. Kad quickened his steps and walked out, looking for Tulayan.

They need to do their best. (To be continued......)
