Chapter 335: Mage Killer
The Void Dragon is close at hand. Elidi could feel its existence better than any creature around her. After all, neither of them belonged to this world, they were both visitors from an outland.
Now that it's close, it's time for the Draenei to ask themselves how exactly to deal with the Void Dragon. Would it be happy to see her?The Draenei felt that she was as unlikely as any race to be friends with the Void Dragon, and in Elidy's opinion, the most likely thing it would do was to swallow itself in one bite.
But for some reason, the priestess was determined to make contact with it.
Leaning against the wall, trained to be in front of the Black Palate Undetected, Elidy looked around the next corner, a huge cave with a large number of savage dwarven creatures roaming around. They jump up and down, fly up and down the ceiling, or run around on the ground. She reckoned that the dark palatines' job was to stop their prisoners from moving in the slightest.
The Void Dragon, which shocked her, was finally in sight, and now Elidy had to think about what to do.
They had to restrain the great beast, and as far as she knew what a terrible disaster it would cause if it escaped. Thin threads made of magic bound the beast, as if it were as mortal as Elidy and the Black Palate.
The threads look delicate and fragile, but they clearly possess incredible power. Elidi's gaze eventually shifted from the shackles to the prisoner himself, and the only thing she knew for sure was that he was still alive. The Void Dragon was more nihilistic than before, and it was easier to see what was behind him than it was to identify him in person.
She almost wanted to step forward, but a familiar evil force appeared—the blood elves walked into the cavern. Next to him was a creature of nothingness, the mage-killer that Crassus had faced.
Zeendari approached the Void Dragon, and it seemed like he was just trying to observe the prisoner, but the priestess felt that it wasn't that simple.
A dark-palate monster ran up to Zendari, chattering something that was obvious he could understand.
"Next time I see that, you won't have a next time!" Zeendari rebuked furiously. "You don't want to be swallowed in the same gulp as your companions, do you?"
That's when she noticed that four dark palatins were adjusting the crystals in the Void Dragon's abdomen, which explained the painful roar she had heard earlier. Something had clearly changed in those magical confinements. She watched the black palate monster at work, trying to find out.
This may be the key to saving the beast. But should she save it? It's a question she's been struggling with from the beginning.
There's only one way, I'll have to touch the dragon myself......
Even Crassus would have doubts about her decision. Elidy knew that it was the group of companions she had recently befriended. Or wouldn't her companions who had been with her for a long time do this. After all, they all knew that the Void Dragon didn't trust them at all.
But Elidy didn't know what other options she had.
The Blood Elf departed, followed by his minion Mage Killer. Elidy looked around and found only a few black palate monsters nearby. She felt empowered to get rid of them. The magic that protects them doesn't seem to be able to compete with the power of her wand, and Elidi doesn't think about prioritizing this. At the moment, she only expects the skills she has learned to work.
Ignore their gaze. Let them look at you, but they can't see you. On the surface, it sounds like a fantasy, but using the spells that Elidi has learned can really make you become one with your surroundings. She had previously successfully used it in her efforts to infiltrate the cave. But now she faced a lot more black palate monsters than before.
Still, Elidi acted. She clinged herself to the wall, hiding herself with her cloak. The black-palate monsters are busy with their own work. They work hard to keep the crystals from leaving their place. Elidy could feel the unease and fear of the Black Palate as he approached the Void Dragon.
A dark-palate monster suddenly stared at where she was, and Elidi immediately froze.
The black palatin gritted its teeth and went back to its work. Elidy waited a moment and moved on.
A dragon egg guardian enters.
It pointed to the nearest few black palate monsters and said, "Come here, the mistress has an order!"
The six black palatins followed the Egg Protector out. Elidi couldn't help but rejoice: their departure had left the area undefended, and the rest of the dark palatins were far away, and her chance had come.
Elidi relied on her superior agility to leap onto the platform where the Void Dragon was imprisoned. She waited for the two black-palate monsters to leave the hole in the wall, and then walked gently towards the giant prisoner.
The Void Dragon didn't seem to notice her, even though he should have had it. Elidy knew that the staff could help her, but she didn't dare summon it. But in the end, there is no choice. After making sure that the nearest dark palatin monster was also some distance away from her, Elidi summoned the staff and focused her attention on the Void Dragon.
The Void Dragon's eyes opened.
In an instant, a flood of memories and emotions flooded from the beast's mind to Elidy's. She saw him in the Outlands and the evil deeds he had committed. And those evil deeds are partly due to misunderstandings. As memories flood further, Elidi feels the Void Dragon's repentance for his betrayal and his desire to make amends for this qiē.
Elidi also sensed that there was something that could be saved from the dragon, and she was determined to set the Void Dragon free, rather than destroy him.
The priestess looked around at the black-palate monsters around her—despite her efforts, they still ignored her existence. She lowered her staff, hoping she could be fast enough.
"Can you understand me?" Elidy pondered anxiously.
"Zzelaku...... I hear you......"
Elidy breathed a sigh of relief. Naru had told her that the staff would allow her to communicate with some creatures, but she was skeptical that it would work on the Void Dragon.
But the link between the two is tenuous. The reason was that she didn't have enough control over the staff, and because the Void Dragon was obviously too weak. Elidy concentrated.
"Do you know how to remove these shackles?"
The Void Dragon was visibly thrilled by the question. Elidy realizes that he thought he was one of his captors. His sense of hope and gratitude was strongly conveyed to Elidi's thoughts. It strengthened the priestess's judgment about the correctness of what she was doing. This is not an evil creature, just a creature who has made a mistake and there is room for repentance.
"Crystal ......," he finally replied. "The frequency of crystals...... Zzelaku can't help it...... Change them ......"
He must have tried. Elidy thought. And he almost succeeded in his most painful time, but it was still a little bit close.
The priestess couldn't help but hope that she would succeed. Elidy looked around, considering which crystal she should cast first. Choosing the one near the Void Dragon's claws might be the most effective, but the one closest to his stomach seemed to have the best chance of success.
"Yes......" Zzelaku said.
The Void Dragon had already chosen it for her. Elidy walked over to the nearest crystal.
A dark-palate monster crawled down the wall, staring at Elidy in surprise.
Elidi immediately put away her staff, grabbed the dwarven abomination by the arm and pulled it over. When the two are close. The priestess slammed into the estimated fatal position of its neck.
The Black Palate Monster fell, and Elidy hurried to shove its body into the crack in the wall. Sooner or later, it would be discovered, but she hoped that before she could put an end to this qiē.
Resummoning the staff, the priestess set out to deal with the first crystal that imprisoned Zzelaku. She felt the vibration of the crystal and understood what the Void Dragon meant. Elidy concentrated on trying to do what he had built.
Crystal began to rebel. Lydi sweated and tried to gather strength. If she couldn't even solve this crystal, there was no hope of saving the beast.
The frequency of the crystals changed, so slight that Elidi could hardly feel the change. But this is the beginning, and with a little more effort, she believes she can do it. Suddenly, an alarm rang throughout the cavern.
Elidy was discovered.
The priestess made one last attempt to attack the crystal, then jumped backwards, the Dark-Palate Monster surrounding her from all sides.
She used her staff to knock the two closest to her away. Then she put it away and wrestled with another dark-palate monster trying to grab her hands and feet.
Some of the black-palate monsters gathered around were armed with whips and spears, and most were bare-handed. Because they were not prepared for battle at all before. They clearly didn't expect enemies to appear in this cave. But the advantage was insignificant, and Elidi noticed more and more black-palate monsters rushing in, some with whips on their belts and others with large nets, apparently to capture her.
A dark-palate monster jumped behind her back, claws tearing at her cloak, and Elidi got rid of it, while also letting her enemies get tangled in it.
But they still came from all directions. Elidy knocked down another enemy who jumped into her chest with her palm. The bodies of the Black Palate Monsters are hard, just like their dwarven relatives. Elidy's hands were numb from the shock.
She quickly looked up, and the black palatin with the net was looking for a suitable position, while the other dark palatin monsters surrounding her tried not to let her move.
Suddenly, the dark-palate monsters stopped, some staring at something other than Elidi.
She shuddered at the feeling of a power filling the cavern: in addition to the Black Palate Monster, the Blood Elves had also come above her.
But the black-palate monsters scattered and fled, as if she had never existed. Some fled into the burrows like spiders dragging their webs.
She looked up and saw that it wasn't Zendari, but the abominable mage killer. (To be continued.) )
