Chapter Fifty-Eight: The Curse and the Guardian Spirit of the School

The birthplace of cursed magic is now unscrupulous.

Legend has it that a curse was originally just a prophecy or wish to bring misfortune to others, and it was not powerful enough. However, with the popularization and continuous development of magic, curses, which are essentially magical rituals, have evolved over a long period of time, forming a very large and ancient magical system in the black arts to this day.

To date, the International Confederation of Wizards has recorded a total of 133 types of curses, many of which are derived from ancient tombs or funerary objects, and are ancient and almost unsolvable curses.

Like the curse of the tomb of King Casimir of Poland.

In the XV century, the 65-year-old Polish king Casimir IV died. It was summer, and due to the weather, the "most successful ruler" of the "Grand Duke of Lithuania" was buried in a rudimentary wooden coffin, covered with words of expensive raw materials, hastily buried with lime, textiles and resin.

Five hundred years later, in 1973, Muggle scientists opened the king's tomb and saw his remains. However, people who opened or entered the tomb soon began to die, and although Muggles discovered that it was related to a fungus growing inside the tomb, the Polish Ministry of Magic decided to permanently close the door to the tomb, prohibiting people, including wizards, from entering the tomb for a certain extent.

According to the investigation of the Special Operations Department of the International Federation of Wizards, the tomb was filled with a large number of dark magic creatures that Muggles could hard-to find and strange ancient sacrificial objects, and the people who built the tomb were suspected to have performed special magical rituals in it to protect the safety of the tomb, and cursed all the offenders indiscriminately.

The act of opening the door to the tomb meant that the last shackles that imprisoned the cursed and dark magic creatures inside were removed, and although the wizards of the International Federation of Wizards' Special Operations Division then urgently used large magic spells to seal the tomb, the effect was not promising.

As a result of this operation, four wizards of the Special Operations Department were infected with an unknown curse and died four days later in the Magical Hospital. Due to the nature of the curse, their bodies were destroyed with the fierce fire that burned everything, and their ashes were also sealed in the depths of the Dangerous Goods Management Department on the eighth floor of the International Federation of Wizards, where they are still guarded to this day.

To this day, the Polish Ministry of Magic spell solvers are helpless against the ancient dark magic in the tomb, and although they have tried various spells to defeat the dark magic creatures and ancient magic hidden in the tomb, they have all failed.

For safety reasons, the tomb of King Casimir of Poland has been marked as a Level 4X danger zone (up to 5X) by the International Federation of Wizards, and wizards are strictly forbidden to approach at will, and the Polish Ministry of Magic has been required to maintain the blockade spell on a regular basis.

And even the twisted and strange tomb of King Casimir of Poland is just one example of what is happening in the cult of curses.

Curses have a long history, and a few decades may only be enough for a wizard to get a glimpse of it. The greatest wizard of this century, Albus Dumbledore, will also have irreparable sequelae in the future due to the terrible curse of a certain apprentice, which shows the complexity and power of curse science.

Professor Malfoy never thought of his magic as unique, nor did he think there was no more powerful master of curses in the world.

But for him, compared to other dark magic that relies on negative emotions such as killing intent, anger, and despair, curse magic is obviously more in tune with himself.

His system of dark magic healing was thus proposed, and honor was also achieved by curses, the most powerful and twisted force in Professor Malfoy's body.

Curses come from human nature, from oneself, from one's own evil thoughts, from a steady stream of malice towards the world, a spell that is not well controlled, a spell that gets out of control or a curse that backfires, the spell caster will fall into the abyss more quickly than those wizards who use black magic, fall into a terrible situation where they cannot control themselves and want to destroy everything.

Therefore, every wizard who uses a curse needs to remember that:

Self-restraint according to the line, do what you can.

To put it simply, no matter what you want to do with the curse, you won't die if you don't die, and you have the ability to do many things.

Now, Professor Malfoy's dark magic classroom hides a very special power.

Durmstrang was in such a special environment that Professor Malfoy had not known enough about the castle to this day.

The silent chanting spell seemed to open a closed door, and Professor Malfoy's dark pupils looked at the ceiling above his head, where thin slits cracked in the direction his wand pointed.

At this moment, the ground seemed to tremble slightly, and the thin cracks in the ceiling began to tremble silently.

"The selection of the content of the curse, well, and the price that needs to be borne, just replace it with this."

He pulled out a humanoid doll made of straw from his pocket, with a note in an unknown script nailed to the back of the doll.

- It was Professor Malfoy's own name, the kind with his full name.

Curses come at a price, and the more powerful the curse, the more terrible the cost.

A good Dark Wizard, knowing the curse, will naturally try to avoid the act of having the curse at his own expense.

They would either grab some Muggles and curse them with their blood and souls, or, as Professor Malfoy is doing now, use a "stand-in" to replace the bearer of the curse's costs.

Of course, the latter is far more troublesome than the former, which has led to the controversial status of cursed magic in the dark arts.

To date, no dark magic has been cursed, requiring countless lives and souls to be activated.

Of course, these are only a few powerful curses – such as the Defence Against the Dark Arts curse at Hogwarts, but the few that don't stop wizards from being afraid of it.

The scarecrow doll placed on the podium looked a little scary in the gloomy dark magic classroom.

With the wave of the wand and the activation of the curse, cracks in the ceiling began to open to the sides, and red eyes with a strange gaze grew on it, indifferently staring at Professor Malfoy as he looked up at the ceiling.

These eyes were large and small, half-open or half-closed, but without exception, their eyes reflected the dark magic classroom in their pupils.

- Curse the classroom, curse that the "repair" here will not work, and the curse of the Traceless Stretch Spell will not be broken.

As the curse unleashed, Professor Malfoy soon noticed that something seemed to be awakening in the old castle, as he had seen the medieval armor in the North Tower on his first day in Durmstrang.

"Sure enough......"

He silently stared at the rows of eyeballs above his head.

Durmstrang has always been sleeping with a very special being, silently guarding the school, usually silent and reserved, but when the intent tries to invade the castle, it will explode with terrifying power.

Just as every student who graduated from here wants the school to be better, every professor, every headmaster wants the students to be strong from the bottom of their hearts, and the existence born in this magic school silently guards the ancient school and every wizard here.

It is, the will of the school.

Such bizarre, almost conceptual guardian spirits are very rare, and of course, most of them are not naturally formed, but are strange beings that have been created by some powerful magical force.

The Patronus protects every wizard and every inch of Durmstrang land.

Professor Malfoy had suspected that there was such a presence at Hogwarts, but he was unable to verify this under Professor Dumbledore's gaze when he was in school, and when he left the school, he plunged headlong into the study of the dark arts, and did not have time.

The scarecrow doll's chest, which was quietly placed on the podium, instantly cracked, and among them were countless hideously twisted eyeballs, with bloodshot writhing, trying to drill out of the crack.

But in the next second, the doll's face was scorched with a grim expression, and it burned to ashes along with the paper behind it with Professor Malfoy's name written on it.

The eyeballs on the top of his head exploded instantly, and the scarlet blood rain was quickly eliminated by the silent spell.

The temperature in the dark magic classroom is warming, and Professor Malfoy forcibly ends the casting of the curse while the strange will has not fully awakened, of course, the backlash caused by the active end of the curse is still borne by the "stand-in".

"Failed."

He wasn't a match for that strange force right now.

Professor Malfoy didn't feel frustrated, after all, it was just an attempt to idle.

Putting down his wand, he opened the door to the classroom and smiled silently at the little wizards who were lying on the stone door eavesdropping and causing them to fall to the ground.

His smile was obviously much more normal than yesterday, and there was a fundamental difference.

Oh, of course, it's Professor Malfoy who took a night of "positive"! "Long"! The mirror has the hard work.

That said, the guardian spirit of the school seems to protect all students from death...... Well, that means you can't die no matter how you build it?

Professor Malfoy silently reflected on the special thing he had just found in that being, and the normal smile on his face suddenly turned terrifyingly distorted.

"Looks like everyone is rested, so let's move on." Professor Malfoy said cheerfully.

The students who heard Professor Malfoy's voice only felt a sudden chill behind them.
