Chapter 9: Night

Horus sat alone in a custom-made chair in his private cabin, only the light from the information board shone on the majestic face of the emperor's heir. He flipped through the data board, checking the information sent back by the various reconnaissance teams.

The intelligence includes the chronology of humanity's battle against the BETA, the specifics of the different fronts, and the inglorious deeds and dark histories of various countries.

None of the teams were found, and no one was injured or killed. The soldiers of each company proved the gold content of the veterans of the Great Expedition with perfect results.

There was no doubt that the operation was perfect, but the information that came back was a huge headache for Horus.

Unauthorized retreat led to the annihilation of all friendly forces; blow up the bridge used for retreat in advance, and personally send off hundreds of thousands of friendly troops and millions of civilians on the other side of the bridge; Deliberate concealment of information led to friendly forces being ambushed by BETA and resulting in heavy losses...... All kinds of examples prove that there are so many stupidities and contradictions within the Earth Army.

Being able to survive until the arrival of Horus only shows how lucky the humans of this world are. This can't help but make Horus a little nostalgic for the rigid bureaucrats of the imperial world, at least they are not stupid, and they know that they are going to die and act quickly. It's not like here, when death is dying, it's still fighting in the house.

You must know that even the extremely incompatible Inquisition and the Space Wolf Warband will unite in the face of the Chaos Enemy.

Horus sighed and began to plan the next move of the expeditionary force.

Earth, Kyoto, night.

Solomon approached the edge of the supply base, and the Magnetic Boots quieted what should have been a loud footstep. Optical camouflage is a great way to hide the massive size of the Space Marines in the woods.

Just as Solomon was about to climb over the walls of the supply base, a slight noise was picked up by the sensitive Ear of Lyman.

Solomon immediately made a gesture, and the members of the squad immediately hid and waited for the owner of the footsteps to leave.

But the man didn't leave, and Lyman's Ear told Solomon that he was getting closer, which made Solomon frown, and his hand reached for the monomolecular combat knife at his waist.

The approacher was just a person, and with a light foot, it didn't sound like an adult male, and if she spotted the infiltrator, Solomon would have to knock her down.

It was a young woman, dressed in a military uniform and holding a small box in her right hand, approaching Solomon's hiding place in a panic.

Seeing that he was about to see Solomon, Solomon also held the handle of the combat knife, when suddenly the girl stopped, and Solomon breathed a sigh of relief.

The black-haired girl cleaned the weeds at her feet and dug a small pit with her bare hands, opened the box and took out a few photos and letters, the girl threw the papers into the pit, then took out a match and lit it, and threw the lit match into the pit. Soon the flames engulfed the flammable paper.

Just as the girl stared at the burning flames, her communicator suddenly rang. She frantically connected to the communication and trotted all the way back to base.

Solomon got up, walked over to the burning fire pit, extinguished the fire, examined the letters that were still burned, and after confirming that they were just worthless trivial letters, he motioned for his teammates to move on.

Easily climbing over the fence and avoiding the sentry's view, Solomon's team quickly figured into the location of the tactical aircraft in the supply base.

The eighteen-meter-high Type 77 tactical aircraft was neatly parked here waiting for an attack.

Solomon carefully inspected the armament of the tactical aircraft and determined that the tactical aircraft, which were taller than the War Dog Titans, were armed with only 36mm rapid-fire guns, 120mm assault guns, and melee weapons.

Such a weapon is still a bit unsightly in the face of hordes of BETA. And the armor of the tactical aircraft is still somewhat weak. Solomon commented on these tactical machines and continued his journey back into the base.

Passing through the location where the tactical aircraft were parked, the team quickly dispersed in search of valuable intelligence. Solomon infiltrated the chain of command without alerting any security personnel or logistics

After connecting the datapad to the base's network and downloading the data, Solomon quickly returned to the woods outside the base to wait for the rest of the team.

Soon, the team members regrouped in the woods, and Solomon compiled the information.

"Is there a new directive, Lieutenant Solomon?" Calleone asked.

"The data is in hand, Commander Thor has asked us to return to the city, Lord Horus is going to conduct a tentative operation against the BETA here, and we are responsible for the ground guidance mission."

Subsequently, Solomon's team withdrew to the city, and just as the team retreated to the city, the entire defense line was not optimistic, and the supply base had begun to prepare for battle.

Returning to the previous abandoned building, Solomon stood on the roof of the building and watched the armored vehicles, helicopters, and tactical planes constantly passing through the city, the crowd continued to move out of the city, and the civilians were fleeing, because soon, this place will be reduced to a new BETA battlefield for human armies. When that time comes, I'm afraid the army won't have the time to save civilians.

But none of this has anything to do with the Scout team, who have already deployed teleportation beacons throughout the city, and when the time comes, the most powerful war machine in the expeditionary force will teleport into the field, and the heavy artillery and lasers will make the beta feel the wrath of the humans.

Here, Horus will give the invasion of the beta a heavy blow, and the tentative attack even a heavy blow.

Solomon returned to the building and began to wait for the sun to rise. Tomorrow morning, the army of Horus will descend with the power of thunder.
