Chapter 446: Avoidance
The clearing around the tower was quiet, though the infantry moved fairly quietly, not counting their bulky armor and weapons, of course. Following the instructions he had received earlier, Arton ordered his guards to surround the tower. Bathras dismounts and retrieves his hammer from the saddle. Guarded by two infantrymen, Bathras cautiously made his way towards the entrance to the tower. Coming to a stop a short distance from the ruined entrance, Bathras shouted in his most authoritative tone: "We are here in the name of the Alliance! Come out of there and surrender to us, you nasty beasts, or we will kill you by force!" His voice was sharp and a little shaky. Tirio knew that the inexperienced paladin would tremble in his shoes. Beads of sweat rolled down Bassoras' angry face. A shuffling noise emanated from the tower's ruined guardhouse. The two guards beside Bathras prepared to attack. Baseras gripped his hammer tightly, trying to keep his nerves at bay.
Slowly, a black silhouette of a tall orc appeared in the shadow of the room, standing at the entrance. Itreg clutched his tomahawk in both hands, and looked ready to go down for a fight. The orc glanced at the human's face with an angry gaze. His gaze caught Tirio, who was sitting on his horse, and he looked deeply angry. For a moment, Tirio's gaze locked tightly on the orc, but he was forced to look to the side. The orc's disgusting gaze told Tirio what he needed to know—and Itreg thought his view of honor was ridiculous. The old orc saved his life, and he paid his debt by leading his enemies straight to his home. Never in his life had Tirio been so depressed and self-loathing.
Itreg took a few steps into the clearing, and Tirio noticed that he was more lame than the last time he saw him. The orc's wound must have been infected, he thought. Itregu's eyes erupted with hatred and rage. Tirio could tell that the orc wouldn't let him be taken alive.
As if in reply to what he thought, Da Sohan spoke. "I don't want this creature to be killed. I need him alive!" He said. Bathras looked back instantly, disappointed and frustrated, but it seemed clear enough to understand the order. Arton and his guards converge on the tower to help capture the orcs. Bathrath was flustered, his hands shaking. He could feel the gazes of Dassault and Tirio fall on him. This is the moment he's been waiting for. This is a moment of glory.
With a suffocating roar, Bathras lunged at the orc, wielding his hammer - intending to deliver a fatal blow to the orc, ignoring what Dassaulthan had requested. Surely, no ferocious beast could match his power from the light, he felt.
Itreg expertly parried the young paladin's inflexible blow, and then he slammed a solid punch into Basshras's face, and Tirio shrank a little. In a panic, Basselas threw away his hammer, and just as he could, Itreg kicked him in the middle. The young paladin, with his farts knocked out, fell to the ground, and folded in two in the position of the baby's fetus. Itreg grunted, mocking Basshras's incompetence and stupidity.
Two infantry rushed at the orc, slashing wildly. Itreg dodged the first infantryman's attack, then slammed the second infantryman, right in the chest, nearly cutting the warrior in half. The remaining infantryman, seeing that the orc was visibly rough and skillful, stepped back in fear. Arton and his guards, enraged by the swift death of their comrades, rushed forward in a frenzy. Tirio saw that if they could, they would kill the orc.
"Don't kill him!" When the warriors suddenly attacked the old orc, Tirio screamed wildly. Da Sohan sensed Tirio's obvious concern for the creature, and looked at his friend suspiciously. "You seem to be concerned about the orc's well-being, Tirio," the lord commander said calmly. "It was just an ordinary arrest. Are you alright?"
Tirio gritted his teeth. He couldn't sit there and watch the honorable orcs being cut down. But he couldn't pray to let the orcs go. Doing so will result in him being labeled a traitor. It's all because of him.
Itreg fought bravely against the infantry, but he was easily defeated by his wounded leg. Six infantry officers managed to push the strong orcs to the ground. Arton slammed the orc's hand, and Itreig let go of the axe he was gripping. The warriors quickly began to beat the orcs to half death.
As he watched as the infantry subdued the orcs, every nerve in Tirio's body burned with rage. He quickly dismounted and walked forward, trying to pull away from the infantry. The infantry pulled the bleeding orc to his feet, and Tirio's determination to save the creature was gone, and he stopped. What did he think? He couldn't let that happen, but he couldn't take up arms against his own people. Every muscle of him tensed as he stood there bewildered.
With a loud **, Buthras stood up from the dirt. Arton helped him to his feet and dusted the dirt off his body. Bathras, feeling deeply embarrassed and ashamed in front of his seniors, angrily rushed at the orc. Together, Arton and Tirio grabbed the young paladin's arm and stopped him. They exchanged intriguing glances, grabbing Bathras until he was still.
"This bastard creature attacks dishonorably!" Basshras screamed. "He should be killed here! He continued to press at Tirio and Arton.
"I command that the mouth be left alive, Bathras," said Dasohan. "Your injured self-esteem is not as important as the information that this creature may know. Lock up the beast," he commanded. Soon, a group of infantry appeared, coming from the prisoner cart behind them. They grabbed Itrig and threw him into a cage.
Tirio turned his face to Dasohan. "Sir, this old orc is indeed no threat to anyone," Tirio began. Dassault looked at him in amazement.
"What are you talking about, Tirio, are you really telling us to put this beast back?" Buthras and Arton also stared at him, frightened by Tirio's words.
Tirio turned back to stare at the beaten old orc. His face was swollen and dripping with blood, and Itreg looked back. That's all your honor, the orc's gaze seems to say. The infantry continued to beat and whip Itreg through the bars of the cage. They spat at the old orc, and shouted filthy words.
Tirio's nerves eventually collapsed. He rushed up and grabbed the guard who was whipping the orcs. He snatched the whip from the young man's hand, returned and began to beat him with it.
"How do you feel?" Tirio shouted to the frightened guard, who wanted to defend himself from the paladin's furious attacks.
Da Sohan kept watching, his expression undisguised in disbelief. Arton agrees. He rushed up and grabbed his lord's arm. "Tyrio, please, what are you doing?" Arton shouted.
Tirio ignored him, and stood facing Dasuohan with an angry glint in his eyes. "This orc must be released!" He shouted. "It's a matter of honor!" Tirio pushed Arton aside and slammed the cage's lock with the handle of his whip.
"Tirio, have you said goodbye to your sanity?" Dasohan shouted in a deep voice. Bathras stood aside, dumbfounded. Tirio continued to smash the lock. Shaking his head in frustration, Da Sohan ordered the infantry to grab the angry paladin. Alton's soldiers grabbed Tirio's arm and forcefully knocked him to the ground. Tirio fights with all his might, but the young men easily subdue him.
Arton pleaded with him to obey. "My lord, please stop! What the hell is wrong with you?" He asked. After a brief struggle, the guards brought Tirio to his feet. The paladin looked at Itreig, and the answer was just a roll of his eyes.
"Tirio, in the name of the Light, what caught you? Your actions were rebellious! Sue me what do you explain all this! Sue me you don't just want to do your best to free this creature!" Dasohan shouted.
Tirio tried to calm himself down. "This orc saved my life, Saida!" Tirio shouted. "When we were fighting, part of the ceiling of the tower collapsed. I was trapped and defenseless. The orc pulled me out before the entire roof fell. I understand that this sounds unlikely, but it happens. ”
Da Sohan was taken aback. Arton could only stare at his lord in shock. Tirio wouldn't really believe that the orcs had saved his life, would he? he looked into his lord's gaze and understood, indeed, he really did.
"I swore to let him live in peace, and in my glory I would keep him alive with battle!" Tirio once again scuffled with the infantry who tried to disarm him.
Basshras seemed momentarily surprised. "Traitor!" The young paladin screamed. "He's a traitor to the Alliance! he's been in league with this beast!"
Da Sohan couldn't believe his ears. He had always felt that Tirio was a man with a sense of honor and a cool head. Here he is, openly rebelling against his superiors, still supporting his enemies. "Tirio, I've been trying to be patient. Obviously, you're completely confused about the creature. I don't care what you believe is happening, and if you don't stop thinking about it, I'll be forced to arrest you and interrogate you for collaborating with the enemy!
Tirio is stubborn. "Damn it, Saida, it's a matter of glory, don't you understand?" His roar pierced through his clenched teeth.
"I have always witnessed his apostasy, sir," Batheras said proudly to Da Sohan. Apparently, the young paladin was trying to make amends for his failures so that he could be liked by the conflicting lord commander.
"Shut up, Bathras!" Dassaulthan roared. With a heavy heart, he motioned for the infantry to subdue Tirio. "You've left me with no choice here, Tirio. I hereby accuse you of collaborating with the Alliance!, Captain Lord Arton, make sure that the prisoner is tied up and stays on his horse. He would be taken all the way to Stratholm with the orc, and then brought to court. ”
Arton bowed his head sadly. Slowly, he tied Tirio's hands together and let him mount. "I'm sorry, sir," Arton said, looking Tirio in the eye.
Tirio frowned at his loyal squire. "It's my apology, Arton. It's all my doing. What I do, for the sake of honor," Tirio said gently.
Arton shook his head in confusion. "Tirio, what honor is there with betrayal?" He asked softly.
"I am a paladin of the Light, Arton. You won't understand. Arton helped him get on horseback. Dasohan rode up towards Tirio, staring at him.
"I never thought I'd live to see today," said the lord commander. Tirio avoided the gaze of his old friend. Da Sohan, unable to bear the loss and sadness, angrily turned to the side and motioned for his troops to go. (To be continued.) )
