Chapter 22: A New Victim
"Guys, I have good news and bad news, which do you want to hear first?" Harry greeted him with a hippie smile.
Lawrence threw him a cigarette: "Bad news, I don't want to be happy and then upset." β
"Makes sense." Harry nodded: "Just an hour ago, the victim of the third burglary rape case appeared, and the deputy team took the others over to investigate the scene. β
"What?"
Dean and Lawrence looked surprised when they heard the news.
The first burglary rape and murder case occurred more than half a month ago, and the second happened the day before yesterday.
The results are clearly beyond their expectations.
"This is troublesome, and continuous crimes will make everyone around us panic, and we will also face a lot of pressure." Lawrence took a deep puff of his cigarette and grimaced on his face.
Dean looked at Harry, "Harry, tell me the good news. β
"The good news is that I got the information of the supermarket security guard." Harry leaned against the wall, lit a cigarette and took a deep puff: "If you suspect that they are murderers, I guess you are too worried, I received news from Phoebe, the time of the third case has been determined to be around ten o'clock last night, those security guards live in the collective dormitory provided by the security company, and there is no time to commit the crime at all." β
"FK, Harry, that's two pieces of bad news at all!" Lawrence scolded secretly and looked at Dean: "Let's go, as a qualified police detective, you also have to learn how to investigate the crime scene." β
Dean nodded, following behind Lawrence.
Harry wasn't happy.
He stopped at the door of the office, his expression was pitiful: "Guys, it's too late for you to pass now, maybe the deputy team has already returned with the people from the forensic department, the key is, can you bear to continue to leave me here alone?" β
"Fuck off, Harry, your look makes me sick."
Lawrence made a vomiting motion, pushed Harry away, and quickly pulled Dean away.
"Deanβ" Harry still didn't give up, looking at Dean pitifully.
He didn't want to go to jail in the office.
He was greeted only by Dean's middle finger...
...
Leave the Detective Station.
Lawrence hung up the phone with the old Hunter of the deputy team, and turned his head to look at Dean in the co-pilot's seat: "The crime scene is in the Ian community, and it is also an old community like before. β
"Ian Community?"
Dean looked down and pulled out a map of downtown Los Angeles from under him.
Moment.
His brow furrowed.
Three crime scenes, forming a triangle on the map.
In downtown Los Angeles, there are not many cameras in public areas.
Take into account the time of departure and concealment.
The murderer's residence is most likely in this triangular area.
But this area is not close to Ruoss Gym, but is in the radiation range of Sam's Supermarket, could it be that the murderer is really the prey selected in Sam's Supermarket?
"What did you find?"
Lawrence steers the car, nimbly maneuvering through the traffic.
Dean put away the map: "The three crime scenes are not very far away, and I suspect that the murderer lives in the community in this area." β
"Is it a big range?"
"It's not huge.
With the addition of the three communities where the homicide occurred, there are only five communities in total.
So I think it's weird.
Security here is not good, and many residents will install cameras outside their houses.
The murderer chose the surrounding targets to move, and the possibility of exposure is very high, which is not in line with the criminal psychological analysis we did for him earlier. β
Dean sighed.
The more clues.
The more he felt his brain was confused.
Solving a crime is much harder than being a scavenger.
"Haha, rookie, this is to solve the case, what we can do is to find a clue every time, whether it is reliable or not, verify it one by one, and finally find a possible breakthrough from it."
Lawrence seems to be a reckless man, but he is actually careful, and he senses the change in Dean's mood and comforts him.
Dean nodded, no more words.
The two came to the scene of the crime.
It's pretty much taken care of here.
Old Hunter and the others have left, but another group of Phoebe and Robert are still here, in addition, outside the cordon maintained by the patrol officers, there are still many reporters and onlookers, who are reluctant to leave for a long time.
Lawrence took Dean and did not go in directly, but stood outside the crowd, carefully observing the onlookers, and at the same time taught Dean: "Dean, the iconic murderer, often returns to the scene of the crime.
Some are to clean up the evidence.
Some are to observe the police detective's investigation, so as to speculate on the next move of the police.
Some are narcissistic paranoid personalities, trying to get satisfaction and excitement from the panic of the masses and the reaction of the police.
Some high-IQ criminals will even take the initiative to help, enjoying the pleasure of deformity while guiding the direction of solving the case. β
Dean listened intently.
These are all knowledge that he has not been exposed to before.
However, the faces of these onlookers were either curious or uneasy, and the faces of those reporters were even more excited, and Dean could not see anything unusual at all.
He turned to look at Lawrence: "Lawrence, how's it going, did you find anything?" β
"No, let's go up."
Lawrence shook his head, showed his ID to the guarded patrol officer with Dean, and entered the courtyard.
Before entering the house, the two put on gloves and foot covers.
Inside, Phoebe is teaching Robert some scouting techniques.
Movement is heard.
The two stopped.
"How's that, what are the clues found this time?"
Lawrence took Dean and went up to Phoebe to ask about the results of the investigation.
"Something new." A look of anger appeared on Phoebe's face: "This time the murderer is even more cruel, the deceased's lower body is in tatters, and the murderer even left some unknown red substance inside!" β
This is a provocation!
"Nothing else?"
"Nope." Phoebe shook her head: "The same means of breaking into the house, the same criminal habits, the murderer carefully cleaned the room with a vacuum cleaner after committing the murder, and the newly discovered red substance in the victim's body also needs to be tested, and we can only expect some harvest from the night's fishing now." β
"It's a really uncomfortable feeling..."
Lawrence's face trembled.
Now things are not good.
The success of successive crimes often makes the murderer swell, and then becomes more and more crazy and perverted.
The other side.
After seeing that the content of the conversation between the two was not nutritious, Dean simply investigated the scene according to his previous criminal habits and combined with the investigation knowledge he learned in the police academy.
In terms of surveying the scene, he is just a rookie.
But when it comes to cleaning up the traces of crime, Dean is old-fashioned.
Generally, the places where the traces of burglary and murder are concentrated in the areas of burglary, fingerprints, hair, shoe prints, and methods of killing.
With this in mind, Dean began his first survey.
This kind of old courtyard, in order to let in the light, usually has a lot of window glass, especially the living room close to the courtyard.
The killer came in through the sliding door of the courtyard.
On the clasp lock, use the tool to make a circular hole the size of an arm, then reach out to open the clasp...
Follow the traces.
Dean made his way to the bedroom.
The bed was stained red with blood, and the corpse's markings were on the edge of the closet, in an odd posture that resembled the appearance of the upper body lying on the floor, legs spread out against the wall, seducing.
Dean glanced at the closet to the side and fell into deep thought.
When I am generally violated.
The victim will struggle frantically, forcing the killer to leave some traces of flesh or hair.
The reason why there are few clues in this case is that the murderer always forced the victim to drink the drug before committing it.
Therefore, there is a high probability that this pose was posed by the murderer.
Come to think of it.
Dean shouted outside the house, "Phoebe, is this victim similar to the previous victim's physical characteristics?" β
"Yes, she looks very beautiful and has a good figure, by the way, her colleagues in the forensic department said that she is more than 1.8 meters and exercises all year round, if she is not drugged, the murderer may not be able to succeed."
I got the answer from Phoebe's mouth.
Dean immediately walked to the bed, closed his eyes, and then simulated the murderer, holding the void with both hands, and pulling and dragging back...
He may have discovered a new clue!
