A New Year's letter to a book friend

In a hurry, in a hurry, a year has come and gone, and every time I look back at it near the New Year's Festival, there is always a sense of unreality, and this year is no exception.

I remember this time last year, "Sword of Dawn" has not yet been completed, but the plot has come to an end, at that time, every day when I open my eyes and my mind is full of thoughts are only "which hole to fill today", "why is there a hole here", "why did I dig this hole in the first place", in the process of repeatedly revisiting the plot and filling the hole, I was painful and happy, and day by day I calculated when this story would end just right - and then welcome my long-lost vacation.

Subsequently, the holiday came, and the joy of the successful completion of the pit filler lasted for twenty-four hours - the next day, when I woke up, I learned a great news, and the community was closed.

So I spent two months at home during the holidays, and in the third month, I began to adjust the status of the new book, sort out the preliminary information, and write the manuscript for the outline, thinking that I couldn't get out anyway, so let's do something serious.

So the new book was released as scheduled, and the pit filler happily became a pit digger again for the time being, returned to the familiar rhythm of daily code words, and got another great news after the start of construction - the epidemic has temporarily subsided, and you can go out to have fun.

At that time, I couldn't help but look at the keyboard in front of me and sigh, life, it's always unpredictable.

But soon, the results of the new book diluted the small regret of the holiday, and as everyone knows, "Embers of the Deep" hit the shelves, and even broke the record of the first order in 24 hours.

For me, this was a glorious moment that I couldn't have imagined after 12 years of writing a book.

There are so many old readers who have been with me for so many years, as well as new readers who have just met who have supported me in this moment, and now looking back, the numbers from the day they were put on the shelves still feel like a dream.

Then, every day happily digging and filling in the pits, telling a story that he likes seriously, watching the readers gradually like the new friends brought to them by this new story, watching Duncan's adventures on the boundless sea, watching the excitement of everyone speculating on the plot in this chapter, and the life in the second half of the year is full and interesting—until the whole family is yang, which once again disrupts the rhythm of life.

By now, I and my family have recovered, although I am a little relieved, but I have to temporarily endure the trouble caused by brain fog, sometimes I will suddenly get stuck when I write something, sometimes I will suddenly lose my attention to understand the words on the screen, and at the worst time, I will even suddenly forget that I am writing a book halfway through writing...... What was already a mastery of writing suddenly became a slightly more difficult task.

As a side note, thanks to ORD's auto-save feature for saving my manuscript .jpg.

So I had to sigh again: life is always unpredictable.

By the way, I sighed another sentence: Being a human being is still the most important thing about health.

But anyway, things are slowly getting better.

The effects of brain fog seem to be fading (hopefully not delusional), the streets are getting more crowded, and the previously deserted shopping streets have recently returned to their former bustle – it may take time to get back on track, but as long as we're all trying, there's hope for the future.

Looking back, the single chapter on New Year's Eve doesn't seem to say too much to make people feel heavy, so let's talk about some blessings for the coming year (this time it's not poisoned milk).

It's a new year, I hope all of us can get better and better, I hope that the country and the people are safe, I hope you are safe and healthy - and I also hope that my side can quickly recover and have more double changes.

One thing to say, I really hope to resume the double update as soon as possible - this is the early stage of the new book, digging a pit is such a happy thing, which author can refuse.

So, let's look forward to the next year with all the best in mind!
