A New Year's letter to a book friend

Before I knew it, the Chinese New Year was approaching again, and the editor said that I had been burying my head in coding for another year, and it was best to write something at the end of the year and communicate with readers - I thought about it and felt that he was right.

In fact, I'm not very good at writing this kind of "communication single chapter", everyone who is familiar with me should know, let me bury my head in the code words can be, but really let me write such a serious "exchange letter" that is too difficult, after all, I have only one sentence to pull down - now this more than 100 words, I have been holding back for half an hour, so if there is anything behind this that does not match the words, please bear with me.

From the first time I opened the book in 2010 to the present, I have written four long books in more than ten years, and now I have more or less achieved certain results, I am very lucky, and finally realized my childhood dream: to be a writer, write some of my favorite stories, and at the same time, many people like the stories they write, and the realization of this dream is because there are so many readers who are willing to follow me all the way, willing to read my stories, and like my brains - life is long, and I can find a few like-minded people on such a long road, It's hard to find people who are like-minded even temporarily, who are like-minded in a particular area, and luckily, I've had a lot of success in this area.

I'm really happy that so many people want to read my story, and I'm honored that my story can bring joy to so many people – happiness is one of the most precious things in life, and it's great that I was able to do it.

"Embers of the Deep", this is the best of my four novels so far, and to be honest, it is even a bit more than I imagined - I tried some new things in this book, and wrote a lot of things that I had been thinking about in my head that I didn't get a chance to add until this book (such as the harmonic elements in the hunting route, such as creating a main character camp with all the bosses from the perspective of the enemy), and it was nice to see that so many people liked these things - it seems that this was decided in the first place" The direction of the boss-level protagonist forming a harmonious gang in the weird world is indeed the right decision.

However, some readers who are chasing the update should have noticed that the main story of "Embers of the Deep" has actually reached the late stage recently-although there is still some distance from the end of the book, it is indeed time to finish.

Old readers who are accustomed to my first three long books may feel a little surprised, after all, according to my previous length, a book often takes three or four years, five or six million words, and "Embers of the Deep Sea" is now more than two million words long, which seems too short in front of Xiling, Anomaly, and Dawn.

The reason why I chose to start finishing at this point is partly because I am really tired of writing long stories, and I really don't have the energy to chew on them forever more than a decade ago, which will affect the quality of the articles sooner or later, and partly, because this is the length that has been planned since the beginning of Embers of the Deep - after writing three large novels in a row, I want to try a new plot structure and length control to see if I can still write a good story in a shorter space.

If I could, then I would have the opportunity to build more worlds before I retired - after all, no matter how many brains I have, I am afraid that life is too short, and if I really want to follow the speed of one book in the past four years, how many brain holes will be buried in regret......

Frankly, it was quite stressful to make this decision, after all, "Embers of the Deep" is indeed my best book to date, and at just over two million words, it has now surpassed the total subscriptions of "Sword of Dawn" since its inception - under normal circumstances, many authors would try to keep such a book as long as possible, as long as they can, until it can no longer be continued in a few years - but I don't think that's right.

It's disrespectful to Duncan and his crew, and to everyone on the seas.

They should have a good story with a beginning and an end, and not gradually look hateful in the infinite refill of boiled water.

Of course, although it's time to start wrapping up, you don't have to worry about "Embers of the Deep" suddenly ending in the near future, everyone knows how fast I finished, and with so many holes dug in front, I guess it will take at least a few months for me to clean it up - then I think about it, it seems a bit early to finish the book now.

So you can also look forward to it - Captain Duncan and his crew have a wonderful journey ahead of them, which will not end anytime soon, but it will definitely end at the most opportune and exciting time.

And after that, the Lost Country will still sail far away.

Ah, speaking of which, I suddenly remembered that there was actually a small reason why I wanted to end "Embers of the Deep" - the urge to open a new book was imminent.

In the past two years, I have accumulated a lot of new ideas and many interesting brain holes, but one problem has bothered me: the structure of "Embers of the Deep" is so complete that many new ideas and brain holes generated in the writing process cannot be inserted.

After thinking about it, I think there is only one solution.

I've got to dig a new hole.jpg.

Of course, this pit will not be able to meet you for a while, and I will have to pick it up - so you should just soak in the endless sea for now......

……

I didn't know how to talk about so many things, and when I looked up, it was late at night.

It's one step closer to the New Year.

I hope you don't mind some of the preamble that doesn't match the preface - I'm really not good at writing this.

I feel that it is good to have you readers, it is good to be able to realize my original dream, to be able to write something that I like, and to be able to bring happiness to people.

It's a great thing to succeed in one thing in this life, and I'm lucky enough to have walked a path that I'll continue to walk – if the world I've built in my book brings even a little bit of joy and joy to you in front of the screen, it will be a great motivation and inspiration for me to keep writing.

Finally, the New Year is coming-

I wish you all the best in front of the screen, good health, happiness and happiness.
