Chapter 327: Dark Memories
Crassus found no trace of Karek, and the young dragon's recklessness likely led him to be caught inside. However, Crassus could not blame his companion for his mistakes, as he could not have done better.
Those mage-killers manifested entities, using a flashing technique that red dragon mages were very familiar with. But what puzzled him was not only its persistence—his magic was supposed to disrupt those elements—but also its ability to reflect the special strength of the Red Dragon Mage's spells.
He now knew what he was up against a long time ago when he sent his thoughts to Grimbaato. At that time, Crassus was already suspicious of it, but he was not ready to fully accept the facts.
Now, the truth is getting closer and closer to him.
The Mage Killer is a translucent, blue-purple creature surrounded by spike-like sharp objects, presumably sharp spikes that protrude from their shoulders, and a terrifying bird head. Two blazing white eyeballs are the only visible entities. Sometimes, it seems to have arms, but sometimes it doesn't.
But whatever its true form, it is not one of the mage-killers that Crassus had read about in Azeroth's histories. Some kind of powerful magic transformed them, very powerful magic.
So powerful, perhaps, as powerful as a black dragon?
This will be ...... Could this be Deathwing's doing? Crassus was confused. After all, the abominable attacks that took place here involved the black dragons and the dragonman egg protectors.
He stumbled back, trying to buy more time to deal with the unexpected enemy. The two short fellows with scales attacked immediately, and although he didn't have the ability to go toe-to-toe with them yet, at least the Red Dragon Mage knew how to deal with these two guys.
He opened his mouth, and his lips and throat began to stretch beyond what was possible. From his mouth, a fierce flame engulfed the two enemies on the opposite side.
The ground cracked open, the earth shook, and flames and rocks flew in all directions, then rained down, engulfing the two black-palate monsters. A whip then struck him in the arm. Crassus hurriedly stepped back. The pain was slight, however, and he turned to face the drake head-on.
"So, your leader survived, didn't he?" Crassus asked the vicious fellow.
The drake was just laughing. He didn't look at Crassus. But eyes fell behind him.
The Red Dragon Mage instinctively ducked to the side, but it was too late. He had indeed been keeping an eye out for that mage killer...... But what he thought was the mage-killer was nothing more than an afterimage.
Now it stands behind him to the right.
Its voice roared in his head again, it didn't look like the behavior of a mage-killer. What's more, someone has been planning about this for a long time.
He couldn't move, but he could keep casting. The experience of fighting dwarf creatures led Crassus to focus on the flow of elemental fluids around him instead of looking at the Master Killer. However. Before his spells were able to affect the land and air, Crassus felt his power detached from his control, and instead of attacking the mage killer as he had imagined, he attacked himself.
With such a close proximity to the ability to confront such an unimaginable reflex spell, Crassus didn't even have a chance to release a magic shield to protect himself. Such a powerful blow sent him flying into the air and slammed into the rock wall. As soon as he landed, the ground beneath his feet suddenly cracked, which meant that another of his distracting attacks was also exploited by his opponent.
Crassus felt dizzy again. Under normal circumstances, he had never seen a force that could do so much harm to him. But in a place like Grimbaatar, there is no such thing as "normal" at all.
He was lying on the ground, his mind already confused. He used to be very careless. But what's worse is that he is now being led by the nose like a docile cow to the slaughterhouse.
The Guardian of the Dragon Egg looked at him carefully, extending his demonic black claws to show him something in the palm of his hand.
Although he looked confused now, the Red Dragon Mage recognized it at a glance. It was a thin, glowing golden shard, but not the one he had used before.
The Dragon Egg Guardian smiled even more. He happily moved his blood-red tongue and said, "The hostess has been waiting for you for a long time......"
Elidy opened her eyes. She struggled to sit up and shouted, "No! It wasn't until she finished shouting that she realized she was no longer with Crassus or the young blue dragon. The priestess was now lying in a cave lit by torches, with a group of dwarves surrounding her.
No...... In addition to the dwarves, there is another, more familiar race.
Confirming that she was behind bars, the Draenei began to summon her staff—but she didn't have time to raise it. The elf had already grabbed her wrist.
Elidy tried to leap up, but her head hit the low roof of the hole, and she fell dizzily.
The silver-haired figure in the shawl grabbed the staff, but could only watch in amazement as it vanished into his hands. "What kind of magic is this?"
"A magic that doesn't let you drive as a weapon. Blood Elves—"
"Keep your eyes open and take a look, don't call me by that name, Draenei!" The woman yelled, "I'm a High Elf......"
That's when Elidy noticed something different. She had seen other High Elves before, and regretted that she hadn't immediately noticed the difference between her and the Blood Elves—she didn't have that evil green glow in her eyes.
"High Elf...... Please forgive me for being reckless, my teachers will be disappointed in me. ”
"So. You must be a pastor. ”
"I'm still trying to become a pastor. The Draenei replied with a hint of shame at their lack of knowledge. The High Elves shrugged their shoulders and introduced, "I'm Winlessa, and the dwarf next to you is Roma, the leader of these warriors. ”
"Hello, my lady. The stout dwarf muttered.
Elidi stared at him for a long time, simply because she noticed that Röm wasn't as old as he looked. Realizing that his actions were impolite, the Draenei quickly looked away.
"What's your name?" Wenlesa reminded.
"Elidy. ”
"What are you doing near Grimbaatar, Elidy?"
"I'm looking for—" The priestess paused, recalling the last thing that had happened. "Crassus! no, they need my help, where are they—"
Before she could continue, the High Elf grabbed her, "What did you just say? What was the name you just said?"
"Crassus! We've been attacked by scaly, dwarven-like beasts. ”
"Black Palate Monster!" Röhm growled. "We know these things, and they're right behind you and your friends. Huh?"
"Don't worry about that!" Winlessa interrupted, "The 'Crassus' you just spoke of is tall, pale, and looks like an elf. The eyes are much more vicissitudes than his looks?"
Elidy nodded in agreement. Röm frowned and said, "I can't remember the name, is it ......?"
He was close to the Draenei. "From your eyes, I dare say you know his true identity......"
"Yes. Then the priestess said nothing, and secretly glanced at Winlesa, and motioned to the dwarves to save them.
The High Elves clearly saw through her thoughts, and she whispered, "Rom, I've talked too much. Can you give us a moment to talk to just the three of us?"
"Disperse," Röm ordered the other dwarves, "you, Glinda, and you." There's something to do, isn't it?"
Wen Lesa waited until the last dwarven warrior left, and whispered to Elidi, "It's best to keep your voice as small as you can, the voice is easy to travel in the tunnels, and those dwarves are very gossipy." ”
The last sentence was a joke, and Rohm chuckled softly, but did not deny it. "So, is it true, my lady?" He finally asked. "Is the Crassus you said the name I remember in my old memory?
"The word 'unbelievable' is a fitting word for him, Roma. I don't have to ask, I know you know enough. ”
"Crassus of Kenrito," he said, yes. "I also know that he is...... Red Dragon. ”
"Others, does anyone know?"
"No, we'll keep it a secret, I swear. ”
Wen Lesa frowned. "Your words and actions look a little different, Rom. I don't understand these changes. ”
"If you mean my voice, I've been communicating with your men and other humans for so long. I've learned a lot about their way of speaking, and I haven't used them for a long time now, so my tone of voice may change back and forth every now and then. Sometimes I miss that job, even though it's crazy. He pointed to his face again, "If you're referring to my appearance." I can only curse Grimbaatar, I've traversed this damn mountain so many times, and I've been polluted by it. I didn't tell anyone else, but most of the people involved in the battle to free her from orc slavery died young, aging faster than normal. Maybe I'm a stubborn guy, but evil is still slowly eating away at me. ”
"You could not have come back. ”
"I'm not going to put anyone else in my shoes......" he waved his angry fist. "But here and there, as long as Crassus-Cleost-Crassus is around here, we will be able to finally put an end to the guy who provoked the Grembaatar incident again, whatever it is!"
Elidi didn't say a word, more because her head was starting to get dizzy. She used her skills to dispel the pain, and she was finally able to say what she wanted to say.
"Crassus and Karek are in danger! It's full of dark palate monsters and dragonmen—"
"That's right, Lasker the Dragonman and the Egg Protector, it must be them......"
"But there's something Crassus called a mage killer......"
Wen Lesa didn't seem worried: "The mage killer is not much trouble for him. ”
The priestess recalled Crassus's anxiety: "There were some other cases...... And Crassus seems to be suffering from some kind of innate illness or injury. Now she had their full attention. He seemed to be suspicious of the power behind this qiē, and he seemed familiar with it, judging by his reaction. ”
"Gama's blood feud ......," Rom said suddenly. His eyes met with Winlessa's, "You may not have expected ......," he added, his accent changing back to his usual way of speaking.
"Impossible!" She replied with the same amazement, "Although, perhaps...... Nope!"
"What?" The Draenei asked, "What are you talking about or who?"
The dwarf rubbed his face with one arm and said, "That's right, you don't belong here or anywhere in Azeroth, you won't know about this black beast. ”
"Black beasts, dragonmen with black scales......"
"Yes, they were created to serve their master, and their existence proves that he is alive and manipulated behind this scene. ”
"A black dragon?" In the days of Azeroth, the priestess had never seen or heard of this qiē. But it apparently does exist zài. "He's so deadly?"
"It's not just dead," Winlessa corrected, "he's death. ”
"That's right. Rohm concluded, and began to pursue his darkest memories. "Hmm...... It could be that Deathwing is still alive and back in Grimbaatar ......" (To be continued.) )
