Chapter 8: Arriving at School

Seeing the sad look on Neville's face, who had always been mild-mannered, Connor wisely didn't go any further.

As for Hannah and Ernie, the two young wizards also start to change the conversation after realizing that the atmosphere is not right, and they spend a relatively pleasant lunch and snack time with a series of topics, including Quidditch, and by the way, they also share the bubble gum that Neville purchased.

Truth be told, the bubble gum tastes average, and the only interesting thing is the color of the bubbles that blow out – that's the color of lily of the valley.

They float in the compartments of the carriages, like the dreamy wonderland described in fairy tales.

"I'm a little sleepy."

Witnessing such a scene, Neville suddenly spoke.

"Then let's rest for a while, we can be quiet."

"No, you don't have to worry about me, I'm just taking a little rest."

Despite that, Neville quickly fell asleep, clutching his toad as if he were holding something precious.

"Daddy...... Mom. ”

He whispered.

It's just that no one will laugh at him at this time for not being able to do without his parents or something.

Ernie and Hannah even restrained the smiles on their faces, and the two children sighed like this.

"Do you know something?"

Seeing their expressions of wanting to speak and stopping, Connor, as an outsider, couldn't help but ask.

"We don't know much about it, and Neville doesn't talk about his parents very often."

After a moment's hesitation, Hannah said.

"Mom told me that Neville's parents were Aurors and respectable people."

"Then they ...... now"

"Neville's parents are now being treated at St. Mungo's Hospital."

Ernie took over.

"They...... Encountered a bit of trauma. ”

"What trauma?"

They shook their heads.

"I don't know, I just met Neville and his grandmother when I visited my grandfather in the hospital, and we talked for a while...... In short, it was a chaotic time before, and the Aurors' disability rate was quite high, and many people were injured, and they are still not well. ”

The period before should refer to the period when the mysterious people made waves.

"Neville's parents were brave, and so was he."

The Hogwarts train headed for the Scottish Highlands, and nothing happened along the way.

Concerned that Neville was sleeping, Hannah and Ernie quieted down, giving Connor a moment to think.

It's about the new friends I've met, and about my experiences since I stepped into these two trains.

He then recorded all of this in a new journal.

"What are you writing about?"

Ernie was still staring out the window a little bored, but after casually throating and seeing Connor seem to be writing and drawing, he couldn't help but ask.

"Nothing, some trivial things in life."

Closing the journal slightly, Connor responded with a smile.

"It's just a little boring."

He just glanced out the window at the swiftly passing scenery - but now it was a little dark, and there was nothing to see outside without light.

"Then we'll soon be able to stop being so bored."

Hearing the whispered conversation here, Hannah, who was also looking out the window, laughed.

"We're almost at Hogsmeade."

"Hogsmeade?"

"It's a wizard's village, and it's the only pure wizard village in England, and that's where we end."

Ernie replied as he stretched.

"Anyway, let's change the wizard's robes first, it would be a waste of time to change clothes when we get there."

"It does ......"

Answering casually, Connor just stared out the window, his vision already faintly visible to the distant village.

"In five minutes, the train will arrive at Hogwarts, please leave your luggage on board and we'll take it to school for you."

"Well, where will the luggage go?"

"I don't know."

After putting the black wizard's robe on completely, Hannah shook her head.

"However, my mother said that when she was a student at Hogwarts, her luggage was sent straight to the dormitory."

"That way, it looks pretty convenient."

Despite his words, Connor clearly didn't mean to let anyone else handle his little suitcase.

After donning the wizard's robes, he quickly carried the suitcase in his arms.

Then, he reached out and nudged Neville, who hadn't woken up yet.

"Wake up, wake up."

"Hmm...... Well? ”

"Neville, it's time to stop."

"Well, what's on the stop? Ah, I'm going to Diagon Alley today! ”

As if remembering something, Neville's eyes widened with a hint of apprehension.

But soon, he realized something was wrong.

“???”

Under Connor's strange gaze, Neville couldn't help but scratch the back of his head.

"I'm sorry, I forgot I was on the train."

Seeing Neville's confused appearance, Connor shook his head helplessly.

"Sober up a bit, we'll get out of the car later."

"Well, okay, I'll change into a wizard's robe right away, grandma said I'm going to change into a wizard's robe."

Neville rummaged through his suitcase.

"Huh? Which box did my wizard robes go in? ”

"Aren't your wizard's robes on you?"

"Huh?"

Neville couldn't help but glance at his clothes before he finally smirked sheepishly.

"Well, I saw it, I remembered, grandma said that I usually lose everything, so let me put on my wizard's robe before getting in the car."

In a few words, the Hogwarts train slowly stopped at Hogsmeade Station, and Connor followed the other young wizards off the station.

What catches your eye is a wide station.

"Hey, I really should have some clothes, it's colder than I thought it would be."

As she stepped off the train, Hannah couldn't help but shudder.

"Bear with me."

Ernie sighed, he couldn't help but shiver for a while.

"It's not far from the school."

After looking around for a while, Connor came across a wide lake with an old castle standing across the lake.

In Connor's eyes, the illuminated castle exuded a heavy aura, as if it was protected by something.

"You see Hogwarts across the lake, we should be there soon."

"Huh? Can you see it? ”

Ernie looked casually.

"But I could only see the woods, beyond...... It's so dark. ”

"Ah...... You can't see it. ”

After coming to his senses, Connor shook his head helplessly.

"That's what I want to ask, can you see that?"

Ernie couldn't help but roll her eyes.

"Well, my eyesight is slightly better."

And just when he wanted to complain about something, Neville also interjected:

"It's a bit damp in here, and I think Rifle will love it."

At this point, he was still holding his toad, but before he could be happy, the toad in his arms began to jump out.

"Huh? Radford! Where are you going? ”

But Neville apparently already had a unique understanding of his pet, and reacted to his jailbreak by reaching out and grabbing his own toad.

"Don't run around, Levle, I'll be in trouble if I can't find you later......"

Neville was concerned about his pet's condition, but Connor was speechless at the sight of him.

"I think you should try to let go before you say this, Neville, your toad's head is going to be pinched by you."

"Ahh Radford! Are you okay! Radford! ”

In the midst of a rush of chickens and dogs, the first-year students gathered together, but Connor, who was looking around, saw the other students directly, and they were walking down the main road.

"Shall we just go along?"

But before these friends who had just met answered anything, a slightly heavy but extremely loud voice came from the side:

"First-year freshmen, please come here!"

When Connor followed the prestige, he saw a hill covered in beaver skins.

"Follow me!"

It wasn't until he spoke again that Connor could see that it was a small, thick-haired giant with a tight beaver-fur coat.

But compared to a real giant, his physique is too small.

"Half-blood?"

Looking at the slightly fierce but friendly face, Connor felt nothing but a shock to his head.

It seems that such a character does exist.

Hagrid ......

That's the name, right?

"I'm Rubeus Hagrid, Hogwarts Keykeeper and Hunting Ground Warden."

It seems to be right, although the face is a little fierce, but remember to be a good person.
