Chapter Ninety-One: The Source of Trouble
The search for the Forbidden Forest ended with the discovery of the unicorn's death, and that was the only thing the forest told Connor about what happened.
The death of the unicorn has caused the entire Forbidden Forest to mourn.
Ordinary wizards may not have been able to feel this deeply, but Connor could clearly hear the mourning in the forest.
This is true of the animals, the centaurs, and the entire forest.
When the unicorn died, Hagrid informed the centaurs he didn't like.
Even if he didn't like centaurs anymore, he still remembered some of the rules in the Forbidden Forest.
And with the sound of horses' hooves trampling, the horses who had already returned home also came here again.
The holy figure lying quietly on the ground, staining the ground silver-white, pierced their eyes.
The centaurs are not vegetarians, they usually rely on their bows and arrows and weapons to hunt in the jungle, and they also eat meat.
However, as hunters, they only see themselves as part of the ecology, and they also have the utmost respect for some holy things that sometimes live in the forest.
But it's dead now!
"Damn, who did it, I'm going to kill him!"
"Whoever kills a unicorn will inevitably suffer retribution, and the use of unicorn blood without permission will also be cursed by nature."
Compared to the grumpy Bane, Ferenze only sighed.
He habitually looked up at the sky.
"Today's stars are a little twinkling and dim."
Then, on all four legs, Ferencze walked in front of Connor.
"Kid, maybe you're going to get in some trouble next."
"I'm going to be in trouble?"
Connor then looked at the unicorn's corpse.
"Could this have anything to do with unicorns?"
However, Ferenze did not give a positive response.
"Get ready, kid."
That's what the centaur said.
"Plus, we'd like to hold a funeral for the poor unicorn."
"Yes, as a natural thing, it should also have a decent funeral, no matter what angle it stands on."
"We want you to attend."
"Me?"
Connor subconsciously raised his eyebrows.
"On behalf of Hogwarts?"
"No, not the wizards, we just want to invite you to bless this poor creature in your ancient capacity as a companion of nature."
"Yes, yes...... But when is the funeral? ”
"Tomorrow evening."
Listening to Ferenze's words, Connor slowly walked over to the dead unicorn under the watchful eyes of the centaurs, gently caressing its already cold skin.
"Rest easy and say goodbye to your friends."
…………
"So, you've been invited by the horses to have a funeral for a unicorn tomorrow?"
In the principal's office, Connor heard such a light-hearted response when he finished his work in a short and general tone.
"It's a really fun and novel experience, and the centaurs themselves are very xenophobic."
After leaving the Forbidden Forest, Connor made a beeline for the Headmaster's office, where Dumbledore had prepared hot tea and dessert.
It wasn't meant to be a problem, and after talking to Dumbledore a few times, he knew that this was the old man's way of doing things.
Merely......
"Is that all you have to say?"
Seeing the old man's unhurried appearance, Connor couldn't help but sigh.
"And what else do I need to react?"
The old man blinked his eyes and looked a little mischievous.
"Forget it, I'd like to see a more stable way to deal with it......"
At this moment, Connor's eyes also became sharp.
"I think you should understand what it means for a unicorn to be drained to death."
"The blood of a unicorn has two properties, it is the essence of nature that quickly replenishes life force, but at the same time it also means curse."
"Yes, and once someone sets foot in the forbidden area, they have the border between life and death."
Connor shook his head helplessly.
"Actually, I just don't understand this, what is the meaning and purpose of killing the unicorn and draining the blood, is that guy injured because of something without you and I knowing?"
"There are many things that are useless to guess around, and some objects have to wait until they are fully formed to be worth their worth...... Maybe your behavior is too eye-catching? ”
Dumbledore seemed to mean something.
Connor just closed his eyes.
"So, my guess was correct? Does he really want to use the blood of a unicorn to make a temporary reinforcement for himself, and even to build some kind of bridge? ”
But, now, that's just speculation.
There is another thing that is more important than these things that are just happening in the future.
"So, werewolves have all been caught?"
"Yes, they're all in the abandoned classrooms on the eighth floor now, and Professor Snape's potions can help them recover quickly, so they will probably wake up tomorrow."
So, what are you going to do? Professor Snape and I had met on the fourth floor, but we didn't see any signs of the trapdoor under the three-headed dog being broken. ”
"I know that the simplest means of creating facts, whether it's a riot in the Forbidden Forest or a werewolf attack, they're all coming for me."
Slowly sipping the black tea with a lot of sugar, Dumbledore slowly picked up a cookie from his plate.
This assertive attitude seems to be reassuring.
"So, do you have anything to do?"
At least the old headmaster doesn't seem to have taken this to heart now.
"There's no rush to this."
Without giving a final answer right away, Dumbledore said with a smile.
"I'd like to hear what you think, what do you think might happen next?"
"How do I know this?"
Seeing that the old headmaster was selling off again, Connor couldn't help but roll his eyes.
He is not really a prophet, there is no such thing as prophecy.
It's just that......
"There is a guess."
"Tell me about it."
"It's nothing more than Voldemort's attitude and handling of you, if he's brave enough, or feels like he has a chance of winning, now is the right time to oust you, and I guess there will be pressure on both sides."
"What about the two sides?"
"The first is the board, which is the easiest way to go, and while I don't understand why the former Death Eaters are still in the board and have prestige, I don't want to say anything more since it's your decision."
Connor was visibly prickly, but Dumbledore didn't pay much attention.
"And the second?"
"Ministry of Magic."
