Chapter 145: Quirrell seems to be back to normal

Christmas is over and everything inside the school is back to normal.

Christmas decorations were removed, students returned to school, and professors returned to their posts.

As a school, it still has to fulfill its duty of teaching and educating people.

So, it was as if everything was back to square one.

However, it is not uncommon for the school to change - Professor Quirrell, for example.

When he reappeared at school one Christmas, the students noticed that he had changed:

He was no longer the sick ghost he used to be, and he stumbled less and less.

Even, the class is no longer a dead reading textbook as in the past, but knows how to use magic effects and live demonstrations to add some fun to their lessons.

As for why this is so, the 'Professor Quirrell' himself gave his own answer:

for his illness was cured.

At the beginning of the school year, Quirrell explained his quirks by telling him about his fight with vampires, which led to some curses and after-effects.

Among them is the strong smell of garlic, the class is never ventilated, and I like to make the classroom like some dark wizard's laboratory, and I will never bask in the sun if I can.

And when Christmas was over, when he came back from a half-month 'trip', that was completely gone.

"Okay, now let's turn to page 34 of the textbook, there's a picture here."

At first glance, it looks like a little girl wearing a hat, but that's just the back.

"This is 'Red Hat', an XXX-level magical beast."

Slowly spreading the book on the desk, Quirrell said with a smile.

"Looks like a very poor little girl, doesn't it? As for some of its personality traits, do any of your classmates describe them for us? ”

'Whew'

In class, the Hufflepuff students raised their hands in unison.

Gryffindors, on the other hand, are much less numerous.

But it doesn't matter, Quirrell is already balanced.

"Hufflepuff kids, I know you love to learn."

Seeing the 'outnumbered' little badgers, Quirrell said with a smile.

"But we should also give some opportunities to the students of the other houses, you have already added enough points to your own house, haven't you?"

Faintly, his gaze swept over the red-haired child in the middle of the Hufflepuff students.

But he just glanced at it and quickly looked away.

The smile has not changed, but the eyes are so open.

You can't look at him, and you can't look at him.

The shadow of his past still haunted him, and he quickly turned to Gryffindor.

"Alright, Miss Granger, please answer that."

Seeing that she had finally been named, Hermione couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief.

"The Red Hat is a very bloodthirsty magical animal."

Standing up, Miss Know-It-All recounted what she knew.

"In Muggle stories, these magical creatures are often found on the battlefield, and although they are a type of 'elf', they will attack humans with sticks and the like, and then use their blood to maintain the color of their hats...... Oh, that's how they eat. ”

"Yes, very good introduction, Miss Granger, Gryffindor plus 5 points."

After motioning for Miss Jack-of-Know-It-All to sit down again, Quirrell simply flipped back a page of his book.

"As Miss Granger said, the red hat is a very evil 'elf,' and very ugly in appearance, and you must think ......twice when you hear a cry or see the back of a pitiful-looking little girl in a red hat as you walk through the wilderness."

In Professor Quirrell's words, a Defence Against the Dark Arts lesson passed.

Throughout the lesson, they learned the habits of some dangerous magical beasts, including the Red Hat, and the only thing they lacked was practical drills.

But this is not in the category of first grade, and red hats will not be exposed until at least second grade.

"Ah, what a pity."

Packing up the things on the desk, Ernie couldn't help but speak.

"I didn't even see a red hat or anything in class, I haven't seen anything like this since I was a kid."

"Practical classes are second-grade stuff after all."

Connor replied casually.

"By the time we get to the second grade, we'll probably be able to use some XXX-level magical beasts as practice objects in the classroom."

"Really?"

"It really can't be more real."

Casting a spell to levitate the textbook, parchment, and brush around him, Connor stood up.

"If it's some good professors, they should adjust the learning content in the course according to the pace of each class, but unfortunately, our Professor Quirrell is obviously not among them."

Even the current Professor Quirrell is essentially just reading from a textbook.

However, in the eyes of the students, it has become a kind of dawn gospel.

Some are funny, and some are helpless.

"If there really is a curse on the Defence Against the Dark Arts course at Hogwarts, can there be a more reliable professor next year?"

Ernie sighed.

And it reminded Connor of something that hadn't happened yet.

"Next year's ......"

Remember who the teacher was?

Connor didn't think about it for a moment, but it didn't seem necessary to think about it.

"Let's think about next year's things next year, Quirrell can maintain this level, and he can be regarded as a normal teacher."

Yes, normal.

Now the students in Hogwarts no longer consider whether the teachers of the Defence Against the Dark Arts class are good or not, and Quirrell nearly half a year ago single-handedly lowered the expectations of the students, and some people even began to question the level of teaching within the school.

"Really, if this continues, the entire British wizarding society will be finished......"

"Speaking of which, what's going on with you lately?"

Just when Connor was subconsciously distracted and sighed, his ears echoed the strange question of his roommate.

"Ah, what's that?"

He didn't react for a moment.

"What's going on with me?"

In the middle of the conversation, the horde of Hufflepuff students had already reached the door.

And at the moment when this question blurted out, Hannah, who was walking in the front, had already turned her head:

"It's about you and Isobel, of course."

"Isobel, what's wrong with her?"

Connor furrowed a frown. He wanted to say something, but he happened to meet the white-haired girl walking down the stairs from above.

She wears a blue scarf and black wizard's robes.

There was no companion who went with him, just walked down the stairs on his own.

But when she walked up to the Hufflepuff group, she stopped.

His gaze swept over the students, and finally settled on Connor.

"Jean?"

"Yes."

After giving up a position, the other students couldn't help but take the initiative to back down.

The white eaglet passed through the empty road and continued downstairs.

"So, when did your relationship become so rusty?"

Seeing the back of Isobel's departure, Ernie asked in a low voice.

"Didn't you seem to be quite close before?"

After a lot of questions, Connor was even more confused.

"We've never been closer."

At this, he narrowed his eyes.

He did his best anyway.

And whatever happens next, Dumbledore will have the cover.

"Alright, let's go to the auditorium and get something to eat, won't there be another herb class later?"
